One of the rather strange announcements in the last Nintendo Direct was that Pocket Card Jockey would be coming to the 3DS eShop. The latest spin-off title from Game Freak aims to blend solitaire and horse racing together to make an experience unlike any other. It was recently announced that the game would be hitting Europe on 5th May, and it's now been confirmed that it'll be landing in North America on the same date.
The announcement came via a video posted to Nintendo's YouTube channel that recaps the footage from the game's initial announcement, followed by the announcement of the release date and a QR code to get the demo on the eShop. The video covers all the key elements of the game, and showcases plenty of footage of this interesting project. Check it out below:

Words cannot express how excited this makes me.
not sure if im interested in this game, but heck i'll give it a go.
i think this is the greatest time waster game on the 3DS since picross. I'm gonna spend hours playing this as I travel and such!
I had absolutely no interest in this. Then I played the demo. I'm getting it, day one.
I found the artwork and strangeness of the concept quite interesting. The demo made me absolutely obsessed.
Though I lost all the time after the tutorial races and didn't quit get, what I did wrong. The hints that the horse gave were sometimes on point, but sometimes I had the feeling that I hardly could have improved on those things.
Will getting it as soon as it arrives though.
Have to add that demos usually stop me from wanting a game rather than making me want to get it. So this must mean something.
@Dr_Shellshock Picross is pretty good for that too, or Animal Crossing
This game is amazingly addicting. I'm super excited for this. Tried the demo on a whim and was blown away!
The demo convinced me to buy it day one as well !
Seems I'm the polar opposite here. Really excited for the game, downloaded the demo, thoroughly disappointed...
I thought this sounded odd to say the least but demo was amazing and I could not put it down.
I'm very excited for next week now!
The demo was awesome! A day one buy depending on review scores and price.
I'll try the demo n see.
I really enjoy this game. I haven't seen pricing on it, yet. That will be my deciding factor.
ill be buying this as well...
tried the demo, I think I'll be getting this one
day 1 buy without playing the demo just because the Dev is Game Freak.
Loved the demo. I'm curious does anyone know if there will be 3D support for this game? The demo didn't showcase any 3D.
Having played the japanese version, I must say the full game is even better than what is shown in the demo.
You can breed horses, share them through streetpass and there are collectives, special horses to obtain (with different abilites that affect the solitaire game), and different trophies to get.
This is a solitaire game done right.
Haven't tried the demo yet, I'll give it a shot, it's definitely something different.
any ideal how much it's gonna be? i loved the demo.
Just two days before the Kentucky Derby. Nice timing. I'll bet some derby attendees will play this on the planeride over to Louisville.
The demo impressed me with the combination of elements presented, although I'm still hesitant to jump in quite yet. This is not the first iteration of enhanced Golf Solitaire I've seen (Big Fish's Fairway Golf for iOS is still my go-to for this) and the track movement portion really had a fine line (there were too many instances I missed out on bonus power by being a couple of pixels off). Still, I might replay the demo a few times and see if it grows on me.
@gabikun Is there an in-game pokedex for horses as well?
@PlutoPerson There is a small "horse pokedex" (there are only 9-10 different horses, if I remember well). However, every horse has its strengths soy you need different strategies in races.
That's neat! Thank you for responding.
