Do you remember the gorgeous hardback book that prompted timeline debates to reach new heights - The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia? A gorgeous publication, it provided lots of fascinating information and artwork on the franchise; now, there's a follow-up on the way.

With the series in its 30th Anniversary year, Dark Horse has announced that it's teaming up with Nintendo on The Legend of Zelda: Art & Artifacts. Coming out on 21st February 2017, it's promising a lot of artwork and interviews with those behind the games.
Fans of The Legend of Zelda are in for a treat with The Legend of Zelda: Art & Artifacts. Readers can peruse over four hundred pages of fully realized artistic masterpieces, exclusive interviews with the design team behind the beloved video game franchise, the official pixel art of the early series, and rare promotional art never before published in this format. The Legend of Zelda: Art & Artifacts offers fans a sneak peek at art from the newest game in the series, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, prior to its official release. This breathtaking volume is essential for any true Zelda fan!
It sure looks handsome, and will also cost a pretty penny - pre-orders are open on Amazon.com and the Penguin Random House store for $39.99. Just think how good it'll look on your coffee table, though.

Dank.
B-but it comes out on the 31st anniversary!... I hope they redo Hyrule Historia for the 35th anniversary though. That would be cool.
...I think I'll wait until it drops in price a bit first. XD
I want this. It would fit very well next to my Hyrule Historia.
Ah come on Nintendo, we need to save our pennies towards an NX in March, right? XD
I'm ordering just for the cover alone!
At this point, I should just add Nintendo to my bank account as an authorized signer.
Preordered.
Waiting for preorders to open on Amazon UK.....
Pre-ordered!!
@Agent721 I feel the same. I'm certain I put at least one Nintendo employee's kid though college by now.
@Ryu_Niiyama
Seriously. I should have a Nintendo kids pic I sponsored up on my fridge.
I'm interested, but not at that price at all. The historia released just above $20 as I recall. I can wait for a price drop for a book I'll look at once.
@Angelic_Lapras_King I agree completely, I have to keep spending my dosh on all this awesome stuff they are releasing before the nx.
With this in Febuary as a sneak peak and a suspected March release for NX it seems to line up nicely. I'm hoping this means they are on track.
This looks like a must-buy. I hope I'm not too broke when it comes out...or my heart might break as well.
Seriously? People are finding this too expensive at 40 bucks? That's honestly not expensive at all, for what it is. Especially considering the outstanding quality Dark Horse usually delivers.
Judging from the description in this article and the few pages shown on Amazon,it looks way less interesting than Hyrule Hystoria.
The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia was a great read. I'll definitely have to take a look at this new book some time.
"This breathtaking volume is essential for any true Zelda fan!"
Guess i am not a real fan than
UK link anyone?
i was gonna get the japanese version but ill wait and get this instead
UK prices on a UK site please?
@Tsurii That sucks, but thanks! I'd rather avoid shipping costs and just await a UK link in the near future, if any...
OMG! AWESOME!
40 bucks ain't too shabby for this.
Pre-ordered! This will look great next to my Hyrule Historia!
Could be nice to have. How much did the Hyrule historia cost again, in Euro's?
Anyway, love to see the Botw stuff. But I hope it won't be 90% Botw. The other games need love too. In my opinion there was to much Skyward sword stuff in the Hyrule historia!
Amazon UK pre-orders are up now, at £33.99.
