Re: Dark Horse is Bringing 'The Art of Splatoon' Book to the West

Crimzonlogic

Sweet, I hope more stuff like this is localized in English. What are the odds they'd bring over the Art of Mira book? I really, really, really want that one in English so I can read all the passages and notes about the concepts. I guess low odds since the first Xenoblade's art book was never localized, either...

Re: Video: Happy Birthday Pit! - The 30th Anniversary of Kid Icarus

Uprising is still my favorite game, period. Pit is my baby. I too would love a new Uprising sequel, or even just a fancy upgraded switch port.

I've still yet to finish the original, though. I need to get on that...But old nes games and me don't mix well.

I do have an original five screw copy of it(and the original booklet, no original box however), though no working nes to play it on. I hope to pick one up eventually. It would be awesome if the first time I beat the game is on the original copy.

Re: Rumour: New Pokémon GO Monsters On The Way This Week As Part Of Starbucks Campaign

If it's not gen 2 mons, then it's the gen 1 legendaries. It would be lame if they introduced legendaries this way, so it's gotta be gen 2.

Unfortunately, the game has started to run more poorly for me with every single update. I can no longer play it on my phone, since my trainer no longer walks. She stays in one spot. I had to close the game and restart it whenever I wanted to spin a pokestop, and eggs were no longer an option, so I stopped. I was looking forward to getting my favorite starter, cyndaquil. Curse you, cruddy phone! I can't buy a better one just for a game.

Re: Feature: Xenoblade Chronicles X - One Year Later

Crimzonlogic

I just realized there is a page 2 on this...I'm dumb.

L is my favorite character in the whole game. He's funny, charming, polite, kind, quite vain and proud(in a good way I think, not insufferable like HB) and is my favorite party support in battle. Astral protection, two topple arts and arts that inflict blaze and slow debuffs just plain ROCK. He is one of the only characters who stays standing very long in difficult post-story battles, the dude's tanky! I want to play as him in the lead a bit if I play the game a fourth time. I will definitely try to take down big post-game tyrants with him sometime...I've been meaning to get to that.

A thing to think about regarding L is indeed his name, an obvious connection to "Lucifer"...But which Lucifer? Not the evil christian version, I think. The Xeno series is no stranger to incorporating influences or references to a religion called gnosticism, in which the one true god figure is called the Monad. (Sound familiar? The Monado in the previous Xenoblade was named after this being!) In gnostic belief, one of the big servants of Monad is none other than Lucifer. Lucifer is not an evil devil trickster in gnostic belief. He wants to guide humanity to enlightenment, truth and knowledge, away from the Demiurge's(the false god that you should NOT worship in gnostic belief) twisted, harmful ways. Pretty chill dude, that gnostic Lucifer.

Perhaps this means L will play some big mystical part in guiding humans to a better way of living come the sequel. Or perhaps the name is just a reference, as L is very curious and is always on the hunt for more knowledge to soak up. It could be he is just a straggler of an extinct species that was wiped out in that big Miran civil war and is just there trying to survive alongside everyone else. I think it may be that last one. There is an npc who says this if you approach them near the Rosemoss restaurant:

"We humans are lucky there's so many of us. I wonder what it feels like to be the last member of your race. That's gotta be lonely."

This dialogue hits hard, and feels significant. It surely was put there for a reason, and I believe it is this: One of our characters is the last of their kind, and that is a lonely, terrible thing to be no matter how you slice it. If this isn't hinting toward L, then who? The other big candidate is Elma. Maybe even both of them? Either way, I think this will be explored in the sequel, and I will cry, since I love both of them and it will hurt to see if they have tragic backstories.

@Kage_88 "stupid plot holes"

Like what? I don't know of any plot holes in it, and I've played the game three times and thought a lot about the story. There's just some storylines left unfinished, as in that major cliffhanger business in chapter 12. Cliffhangers or "to-be-continued" situations aren't plot holes, though they do irk me. We need a story continuation, be it a game, novel, or animated series, that's for sure.

Re: Feature: Xenoblade Chronicles X - One Year Later

Crimzonlogic

I love this game so much. I've played through it three times, and gotten frontiernav to 100% completion twice. I am in high hopes that a sequel is announced soon, because I want to figure out what is up with this friggin' planet already!

"The gravity also seems to be all over the place, with entire landmasses impossibly (but lovingly) suspended high in the air"

This has nothing to do with the planet's gravity. This is explained by a nopon npc named Mogugu who shows up next to Mujiji in Oblivia's Dorian caravan at night. He has different dialogue during different parts of the game, and states later in the game that these floating islands and the wreckage all around Oblivia were remnants of a highly advanced ancient floating civilization on Mira. He says they blew themselves up, and earlier mentions that the giant rings were weapons used to attack the other native peoples, greatly hinting at a civil war on the planet that wiped all these civilizations out. Going by the state of the ruins across the planet, it is obvious before you even talk to Mogugu that some major conflict happened here may years ago. I really want to know more about Mira's history.

Edit: Typo'd planet as plant, lol. Mira is a sentient giant plant confirmed.

Re: Video: Nintendo Shows Off New Area in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Crimzonlogic

I honestly can't tell what's got people so upset. Framerate dips? Where? Can someone point out the part where it happens, because I don't see any myself?

Anyway, it's nice to finally see an area that isn't plain grassland or a canyon. Sweet jungle. Combat still looks good. I hope weapons don't break that frequently, though. It seemed like they broke a lot in this.

Re: Spawn Rates Of Pidgeys, Rattatas And Zubats Reduced In Pokémon GO

Crimzonlogic

Ironically, pidgey and zubat were already uncommon at best in my area. Seeing as how pidgey is the easiest way to get experience(by that tiny 12-candy evolution bonus) this makes leveling up harder...If this means I might actually see a rare spawn sometime, then that's good I guess? But man, I've been stuck at level 23 for nearly a month. That level 20+ experience spike is a doozy.

Re: Gallery: Pokémon Sun and Moon's Fully Evolved Starters, Classic Battle Opponents, New Pokémon and More

Crimzonlogic

I really like all three starter's final forms. Grass/ghost is an especially interesting typing for a starter and the vine-whip bow and arrow thing is awesome. Primarina is utterly adorable. Incineroar is just plain charming, even though I was put off by it when I first saw it in the leaks. Though, I think the fan name(or was it a fake leak name?) "Beltigre" sounds better than the official name Incineroar. No matter, I'll name my buff fire cat Sriracha.

I'm tempted to soft reset for a shiny starter this time around. I've never done that before, but I like the shinies of both the grass and fire starters. Decidueye is black with a green hood and Incineroar is white and red.

@Seacliff It would appear poor Wally has been stricken with Ash's no-aging disease. He will be ten forever.

Re: A New Update is Rolling Out for Pokémon GO

Crimzonlogic

Come on, Niantic, give me a reason to play again. Changing the color of an egg won't do it. There are so many missed opportunities and botched mechanics in this game. Knowing it could be something much greater than it is but they choose to fiddle around with little aesthetic things instead is frustrating. I don't care about eggs or walking five kilometers for a single candy. I want to track the pokemon down before they despawn and trade and stuff. Do they not have the money or staff to implement these things? Why not? :/

Re: Koji Igarashi on the Wii U Port of Bloodstained

Crimzonlogic

@aaronsullivan Thanks, but I'm not really in a position to save any money. Things aren't going as well as they should be. Hopefully something changes for the better in the next two years. I needs my games! I've already had to sell most of the ones I owned. Like selling little pieces of my soul.

Re: Koji Igarashi on the Wii U Port of Bloodstained

Crimzonlogic

I really wanted to back this so I could have a Wii u version to play but didn't have money to spare at that time(or now...). Now I'm glad I didn't. What a bummer if it doesn't even come to Wii U. I likely won't be able to afford a new console any time soon so I can't really get the NX, so I may be missing out on this game for a looooong time. Oh well.

Re: Editorial: Rediscovering the Gems of the Wii U Library

Crimzonlogic

@Shiryu I agree, I got more enjoyment out of that one game than any other game I've ever played, except maybe the Pokemon series if it's counted as a whole. I played X for several hundred hours across thee save files myself, 100%'ed the game twice...And I still want a sequel, asap. The story needs to be finished and I need to see more of Mira!

Re: Review: Super Hero Math (Wii U eShop)

Crimzonlogic

@Classic603

Full sentence for reference: "You're then read a math question from a narrator that sounds like he belongs in a '90s PC game, and given four choices to answer that correspond to the A, B, X, and Y buttons"

Honest question, what is incorrect in this sentence? I don't see the error. Should it be "Then you're read a math question from a narrator..."? Though, that doesn't seem any more correct to me. It's bothering me that I can't see what's wrong.

Re: Buddy Pokémon Arrive in GO Update as Niantic Continues to Target "Bots and Scrapers"

Crimzonlogic

@XCWarrior I've never once cheated in this game...From what I've read, rooting a phone is mostly just to make the phone run smoother and help with battery life. It has nothing to do with cheating in games, let alone Pokemon Go. And I don't know heads or tails about this stuff so I am certainly not cheating...And many who rooted their phones aren't either. They just rooted for a better phone. Now people are getting banned though are playing by the rules, because they happened to have rooted their phones before Go even came out. It would suck if I got banned for just happening to have some kind of store-installed root thing from when I bought the phone, since I have never heard of this stuff until I read about it on the PoGo subreddit a couple of days ago. I got all the way to level 22 and finally got my near-flawless arcanine with the perfect moves, and all legit. No cheating. I shouldn't have to worry about losing that like many other players already have...Niantic messed up on this one and are punishing the wrong people.

Re: Buddy Pokémon Arrive in GO Update as Niantic Continues to Target "Bots and Scrapers"

Crimzonlogic

@SuperDude95 I've been trying to look this up but I don't quite understand it...What is rooting/jailbreaking exactly and how do I know if my phone is rooted/jailbroken? I am assuming since I don't know what the heck this stuff is that my phone is not rooted/jailbroken? I am scared to download the update for fear of getting my account banned over something I don't even understand how to do.
