Nothing new here. Still playing through Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, great game. Doing my daily routine in Animal Crossing: New Leaf and playing ranked matches on Splatoon 2. Getting some solid gaming time in this weekend.
I'm not terribly bothered about paying $20 for a year of online, that's not really a big deal to me.
But the NES games don't interest me at all. I have all the NES games I have ever wanted already on my Wii, 3DS and NES Classic. Not to mention I still have a working NES with games.
I'm just shrugging my shoulders about all this. Move along, move along.
I'm playing Animal Crossing: New Leaf again like it's my job. Also played the final boss again in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword yesterday and will put some hours into Metroid Prime 3: Corruption tonight. Great weekend of gaming here!
I've enjoyed all the main series games, but this one is doing nothing for me. I'm not a Smash fan either so it seems like there's nothing coming out that I'm itching to play.
Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Splatoon 2. I had put acnl down for about four years straight but have recently become re-obsessed with my little village.
Those saying ridiculous things like it made their skin crawl or it made them uncomfortable or that Pokémon is losing its way are overreacting. It's a cartoon, relax. I took my kids (ages 11 and 9) to it last night. We thought the movie was fun kids entertainment, my daughter found the moment in question touching.
@yeayeanaynay how is making a consumer product such as a video game exploiting fans? Purchase of the game is completely optional. Nobody is being forced to do anything they don't want to.
@PotatoTheG Oh I didn't know you have already played through all of USUM and knew about all the changes! Bummed to hear there aren't any. I honestly didn't expect a lot of changes though as these are basically a third version, like Crystal, Emerald, etc. I still have respect for GameFreak as developers, they do honest work.
@jbopatrick The new games have no soul? That's a bit harsh. The GameFreak team pour themselves into each project. They're passionate about what they do.
I think the classic games have a simple and effective classic charm to them but the newer games are full of great ideas, gameplay, innovation and character too.
@SwitchVogel It must not be that big of a non-issue since you commented.
To me, Link looks great in BotW and the option to change costumes is a good one to have present. But for fans of his iconic look it should be present. My Link is still running around in his tattered clothes, need to find some new threads.
I'm not preordering and probably won't buy it until closer to summer. Zelda looks great, but that's the only must-play game on the launch line-up as far as I'm concerned. Splatoon 2 is the game that'll get me to buy.
So for launch day I plan to check in here from time to time to read everyone's stories, the good and the bad.
@Gauchorino You may hate them, call them names and have some personal grudge, which is fine, that has no bearing on me, but clearly and obviously (whether you choose to believe it or not) their business model works for them and many of their customers. If it didn't, they wouldn't still be in business. Can't really argue those facts.
I bought the Solgaleo and Lunala NN3DSXL in October and sold my old Black 3DSXL. It's a great system with a very nice library. I'm sure it could last a few more years.
@PlywoodStick considering how this is the second time I've seen you make an S&M joke today, I think you might be into that kind of stuff. Nobody refers to pair s of Pokémon games that way though. It's always been RBY, GS, RS and so on. Pokémon Sun and Moon should be shortened to SM. Quit being an idiot.
I remember the Christmas when my siblings and I received Mega Man 2, Super Mario Bros. 2 and The Battle of Olympus. That was one great Christmas morning. Another great Christmas was getting my GBA. Lots of great Christmas/Nintendo memories!
Doesn't really matter that much because of the ease of online trading. I'll get one version and my kid will get the other. It should be simple enough for anyone to complete their dex. Collecting all the legends and ultra beasts might be tricky at first though.
I'll start with Litten, but eventually catch them all. I believe the ultra beasts will be catchable, could be wrong. Actually don't know that much about them as I've avoided most reveals. I quickly scrolled past most of this article so I wouldn't see the all the new mons.
@Gauchorino I think you are making gross generalizations about shopping at GameStop. Their trade-in model is based on what the market will yield and obviously works for them and for a lot of their customers. I've had good experiences at my local GameStop, although I can certainly understand you've had poor experiences there. If you don't like shopping there, pretty simply, don't shop there. GameStop is what it is, but I wouldn't justify calling them braindead, disgusting or deceptive.
I'll eventually collect all the starters, but I think I'll choose the little fire cat to begin the journey. Have they said if wonder trade is coming back, I assume it will be.
@sillygostly Missed opportunity? That's an overused cliche among commenters on this site. Just because they didn't do something you think would have been cool doesn't make it a missed opportunity.
I think this is a cute crossover. Probably won't be buying any of this stuff though.

@Gauchorino stated back on May 11, "Again, it looks like a money grab, having so little new differences from the last generation or even from the last 4 generations."
I wonder if he stands by those words or if he'd care to admit that he rushed to judgment and then indiscriminately attacked me for challenging him?

Quite a bit of Splatoon 2 and a little Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Try to get some time in on Metroid Prime 3: Corruption on Sunday.
Re: Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu And Eevee Will Have IVs And EVs, Ditches Held Items And Abilities
This game is not for me, I'll wait for gen 8 before buying another Pokémon game. I hope those that are looking forward to it will enjoy it though.

Wow, awesome report, looks like a fun time! Positivity of the community, must have been no mention of Verlisify then.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Splatoon 2. I had put acnl down for about four years straight but have recently become re-obsessed with my little village.
Re: Get Your Very Own Mew When You Purchase A Poké Ball Plus
@Tyranexx I was going to comment that too, Mew is not legendary it is mythical, not that it really matters though.
Still not too excited about this game though. Think I'll hold off for the 2019 game.
Re: You Can Pre-Order Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu! and Let's Go Eevee! for Switch Already
It'll be readily available at your local retailer. What's the point to preordering?
I'll probably get Pikachu, although I'm not very hype for this game.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend?
Pokémon Ultra Sun and Splatoon 2. Pretty much the only games I've played in a few months.
Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend - Countdown to the Holidays
Slowly playing through Pokémon Ultra Sun. Will play a little Splatoon 2 and Super Mario Odyssey if I get some free time.
Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend? - There Are So Many...
I got into Pokémon Ultra Sun and played in the Splatfest on Splatoon 2. Might even get some Breath of the Wild in later.
Re: Random: Pokémon Fans Are Losing Their Minds Over Pikachu Talking
@GC-161 "anyone younger than 20 doesn't qualify as a Pokemon fan"
That's probably the most idiotic thing I've read in this thread. And this thread is full of a lot of idiocy.

@SLIGEACH_EIRE lol, only if your mind is in the gutter. Stop being a pervert.
Re: Poll: What Do You Think of the Zelda: Breath of the Wild - The Master Trials DLC?
@SLIGEACH_EIRE What is disgusting and creepy about it?
On topic, I'm looking forward to this DLC. It's a great game and more is better.

Splatoon

Re: Reminder: The Distribution of Mythical Pokémon Genesect is Underway
My GameStop printed codes on a receipt for me. Got my two and one for each of my kids. Been a fun year for collecting these mythical Pokémon.

Re: Final Starter Evolutions, Gen I Treats and Region Guardians Unveiled for Pokémon Sun and Moon
It's just too too bad this game is a cheap cash-grab and has no new features. /sarcasm.

Re: Pokémon Sun and Moon Demo Coming on 18th October, Starter Evolutions and More are Confirmed

@Gauchorino I take it that means you don't care to engage in a civilized discussion then. Got it.
Re: Pokémon Sun and Moon Demo Coming on 18th October, Starter Evolutions and More are Confirmed
Looking pretty good. Some of the new features:
Z moves
Hyper training
Battle Royal
Poke finder
Pokémon refresh
Festival Plaza
Poke pelago
Island challenge
Friendly competitions
Alola forms
Ultra beasts
