@Peek-a-boo You are right! Nintendo showed us how much fun a asymmetrical 4vs1-gameplay can be with Nintendo Land. And then? They completely stopped the idea. Seriously, my house was full every week-end with people who wanted to play Mario Chase and Luigi's Ghost Mansion in 2013. And I played with three old friends Metroid Blast in all modes. It was purely fun!
But Nintendo didn't give us a Nintendo Land 2 or a game that showed the multiplayer function of the GamePad... Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros. were great multi-player titles but there was no gamepad needed for that...
@6ch6ris6 I prefer 60fps as well. But even this seems way too bad when you have been playing in 120 fps before.
Therefore for a game like Zelda which isn't a fast racing game or a game in which you have to react very fast, it doesn't matter that the framerate is low at 30 fps. However, it should be fixed at this rate and avoid drops. That is important.
@A01: I am pretty sure the will set the framerate to a constant 30 fps. That is enough for Zelda and the TP-Remake showed that you cannot simply increase the framerate when physics engine and other stuff is linked to 30fps.
However, if the NX is powerful enough, we could see the game in 1080p...
@Kirk It isn't. However, I agree with your statement without clicking other links. Zelda isn't the best looking game ever. There are tons of better looking games.
@abbyhitter I don't want to disappoint you but I don't think the NX version will run at 1080p with 60fps. We don't know what the NX hardware will be able to do but since they develop both versions simultaneously, they will both go for 30 fps. The most one can hope for is 1080p in the NX version.
I am very disappointed. No new WiiU games this year, no DLC for Mario Kart, no DLC for Pikmin 3, nothing about Pikmin 4, no Super Mario Maker update...
In the end we have a long waiting time for Zelda BotW which didn't get me hyped a little bit. Yes, it looks good, feels fresh but where was the content? Running in a open world and collect stuff didn't catch me.
@Ichiban The GameCube showed that this is indeed good for us Nintendo fans but absolutely not good for Nintendo's sale numbers and its future.
And now the situation is even worse for Nintendo since PS4 and XBoxOne have already almost the whole market. Nintendo MUST do something new. There is no other way.
@Yasume The market does not need a third console that is the same as the other 2. We have a saturated video console market and Nintendo MUST do it differently to survive.
Metroid Other M has the standard price of Wii-VC titles but I don't think it is suitable here. You can easily get a new retail copy for 20 EUR and a used copy for under 10 EUR.
In contrast to the very cheap Metroid trilogy for which the retail price is often at 100 EUR, this seems like a bad deal for going digital.
@dsparil Yes, it is not clear to me. Licensing could be problem but as you mentioned it seems like there is no license holder anymore.
Other people suggest that the FX chip is hard to emulate. However well-known SNES emulators have no problems with these games.
Maybe the emulation needs some work and money, Nintendo isn't willing to invest in these few games.
@KIREEK StarFox 2 is a great game.
However, as always Nintendo has some trouble with the SNES FX Chip games. Even the first title didn't get a VC release so far.
Therefore I don't see an official release of Star Fox 2...
@OorWullie I hope, it will be the 60Hz version but it is written out in the Eshop, usually. At the end of the description section there is for Super Mario World, for example:
"This is the US version of the game"
Before buying it, I will check this sentence for Star Fox 64. Great game by the way
This is fake since it is one-to-one taken from the patent and of course the picture in the patent is just a sketch for assigning the technical details.
@arnoldlayne83 I don't know how you are counting but WiiU is 8th Generation. You cannot argue with that. Of course, you can discuss the different power. However, I think the WiiU could handle the game but of course there is work to do.
@rjejr: That is ridiculous. The Nindies run very well on the WiiU and Unravel is NOT a great game. It looks funny and atmospheric but it is just a boring game.
And everybody knows: In Feb 2017 the NX won't have sold more units than the WiiU until now. It doesn't make any sense waiting for NX when one doesn't want his game on the WiiU.

Re: Digital Foundry Assesses the Technology and Framerate in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
@manu0 That could be true. And Nintendo is developing the game for the NX and not simply porting it. So maybe you are right.

Re: Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3 Makes Impressive Sales Debut in Japan
@arnoldlayne83 There WAS a lack of consoles as you can see here:

Re: Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3 Makes Impressive Sales Debut in Japan
Is the WiiU still rare in Japan or is this not the problem?

Does this news mean the WiiU is no longer rare in Japan?

Re: Review: Pokkén Tournament (Wii U)
The game is coming this Friday? Very nice. I totally forgot about it
Re: Nintendo Download: 17th March (Europe)
@RainbowGazelle I find the prices very appropriate. Of course, everybody wants everything cheap and chintzy but why should that be good?
Re: Soapbox: It's too Early to Judge Paper Mario: Color Splash
I don't judge Paper Mario Color Splash but I accuse it.
Re: Shigeru Miyamoto on the Development of Yoshi's Island
@MitchVogel Do you have a source that he really said that?
Re: Shigeru Miyamoto on the Development of Yoshi's Island
In my opinion: Best game ever!
It was my first own game on the Super Famicom and I loved it. And looking back, I still see it is perfectly designed.
Re: Poll: Which Is The Best Mario Spin-Off Series or Game?
@Franklin Maybe the last entry destroyed the good impression the first games had made.
Re: Poll: Which Is The Best Mario Spin-Off Series or Game?
@CharlieSmile Nothing is harder than Sophie's choice
However, I agree that the question is very vague. For example I love Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi but only the first few entries in the series.
Other "series" like Mario's Picross or Mario Maker can't compete against true series like Mario Kart or Mario Party.
Re: Review: Star Ghost (Wii U eShop)

Not knowing what NX is, there are some special wishes, here. We don't even know if NX is really substituting the WiiU.
