Re: Editorial: An Ode To The Wii U GamePad, Nintendo's Mad But Brilliant Controller

@Peek-a-boo You are right! Nintendo showed us how much fun a asymmetrical 4vs1-gameplay can be with Nintendo Land. And then? They completely stopped the idea. Seriously, my house was full every week-end with people who wanted to play Mario Chase and Luigi's Ghost Mansion in 2013. And I played with three old friends Metroid Blast in all modes. It was purely fun!

But Nintendo didn't give us a Nintendo Land 2 or a game that showed the multiplayer function of the GamePad... Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros. were great multi-player titles but there was no gamepad needed for that...

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Nintendo's E3 2016?

Chandlero

I am very disappointed. No new WiiU games this year, no DLC for Mario Kart, no DLC for Pikmin 3, nothing about Pikmin 4, no Super Mario Maker update...
In the end we have a long waiting time for Zelda BotW which didn't get me hyped a little bit. Yes, it looks good, feels fresh but where was the content? Running in a open world and collect stuff didn't catch me.

Re: Nintendo Files a New Patent for a Fancy Object Detection Device

@Ichiban The GameCube showed that this is indeed good for us Nintendo fans but absolutely not good for Nintendo's sale numbers and its future.

And now the situation is even worse for Nintendo since PS4 and XBoxOne have already almost the whole market. Nintendo MUST do something new. There is no other way.

Metroid Other M has the standard price of Wii-VC titles but I don't think it is suitable here. You can easily get a new retail copy for 20 EUR and a used copy for under 10 EUR.

In contrast to the very cheap Metroid trilogy for which the retail price is often at 100 EUR, this seems like a bad deal for going digital.

@dsparil Yes, it is not clear to me. Licensing could be problem but as you mentioned it seems like there is no license holder anymore.
Other people suggest that the FX chip is hard to emulate. However well-known SNES emulators have no problems with these games.

Maybe the emulation needs some work and money, Nintendo isn't willing to invest in these few games.

@OorWullie I hope, it will be the 60Hz version but it is written out in the Eshop, usually. At the end of the description section there is for Super Mario World, for example:
"This is the US version of the game"

Before buying it, I will check this sentence for Star Fox 64. Great game by the way

Re: Poll: Which Is The Best Mario Spin-Off Series or Game?

Chandlero

@CharlieSmile Nothing is harder than Sophie's choice

However, I agree that the question is very vague. For example I love Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi but only the first few entries in the series.

Other "series" like Mario's Picross or Mario Maker can't compete against true series like Mario Kart or Mario Party.
