I still use my first GameCube-Controller from my console. Therefore it is now almost 16 years old. And it still plays like a new controller despite of Mario Kart, Mario Party and, of course, three Smash Bros. games.

I am glad that Nintendo still supports it. This is what we call sustainable.

I still have to play too many game on WiiU and 3DS. Maybe next year, I can start with the Switch

What about the Piranha Plants? Just one for a given player or just one on the whole track at a time?

@SLIGEACH_EIRE Sadly, I must agree. I will only buy the Switch when there is a decent pair of Joy-Cons attached, like that GameCube mock-up, for example.

By the way, I play a lot of Mario Kart 8 deluxe with friends and know the Joy-Cons. It always a relieve playing Mario Kart Double Dash with GameCube Controllers.

In the last Mario games I didn't see a difference between losing one life and losing the last life (going game over). In all cases, you had to retry the level you died in. Yeah, maybe there was a difference regarding to check points but that was never important.

Unirally is great, but wasn't there a law suit from Pixar that forbids contribution of the game???

Nevertheless, I will play the game now on my old SNES

@sandman89 Never used a N64 memory pack/Controller Pak. Nintendo games used it only optionally like ghost data in Mario Kart.

Either retail with the full game on the card or download with no cartridge what so ever. You can put a download link in the box, but cartridge and download combined is unnecessary.

(I understand that DLC, updates, patches and so on show that a retail game is never complete but what is the point of having the cartridge when the game is not playable out of the box?)

Question: Are we discussing here about the 9 GB download that the retail version of NBA 2K18 requires?

So they use the 16GB card but they could have used the available (more expensive) 32GB card?

@Hughesy I don't think the price it the problem but the philosophy. What sense does it make to buy a retail version if you have to download a big part of the game nevertheless.

First of all Switch must deliver! At the moment there is hype and success but at the end of this year we will see if Switch has enough momentum for the next years or if it was just a flash in the pan.

Only then, the competitors would try similar things.

@Emperor-Palpsy I asked myself the same question. Maybe in portable mode this game is not so demanding on the system and there is enough cooling in this position.

Otherwise, maybe Ubisoft just don't know how to use the Switch...

@Henmii Most of the time updates exchange data. Therefore the difference in occupied memory-space is small. On the WiiU you can check this in Data management.

I hope we will see some improvements in the WiiU version as well.

For myself, I just wait for the Switch Lite or Switch XL or New Switch

@DizziParadise You say PETA is uninformed and you really think that nature gave us a creature that had to be milked by human hands.. Like all mammals (including humans) the cow produces milk after giving birth for its baby. So only if we kill this baby, the cow will have too much milk and has to be milked.

@starman292 PETA is going after the bad people. This Nintendo-thing is just a minor PR-campaign. And not a bad one: As you can see I am writing now in behalf of poor animals and see that even in the group of Nintendo fans there a lot of naive people.

And writing things like "I need to go to the store and pick up some more gallons of milk" shows that a lot of people don't understand the seriousness of this problem. We treat living beings like things and like trash. And in the same moment we are destroying our planet just for having bad meat on our plate.

Renaming Hamburg into Veggieburg is clearly a joke. In some part even the thing above is a joke. Not a necessarily funny joke but a thing you shouldn't take literally.

I explain it again: This letter is not for the producers of 1-2-Switch but for us. We read it and discuss it. And then we have the discussion we need for a better world.

@starman292 However, they care for their calves that are not allowed to drink the mother's milk and instead are slaughtered and eaten. Only for the purpose that grownups can drink milk like being a baby.

PETA has a good point and uses Nintendo for this purpose. Of course, we don't like this but it is still a good move. And everybody can see the difference between real cruelty and the family-friendly non-real Nintendo game.

@Skunkfish That would be so crazy. The whole point for cartridges is that you can load the game from the card. Otherwise the card would be just a good as a download code in the package (in the case you have an internet connection).

@subpopz I guess, we all have to wait the two weeks and see what is indeed true. The information WB gave is very unclear, no mentioning of the game size and the download size of the day-one-patch.

The price in my local store is 329 EUR or 350 EUR. Way too much, in my opinion, so I skipped buying a Switch at Launch. Zelda got me excited but of course my WiiU is handling it very well.

@alasdair91 Maybe the HD-rumble is a good thing in a cordless controller. I missed the good rumble feature of my GameCube controllers the last two generations. However, the interior is indeed impressive but why looks it so generic? It is so boring to look at this thing. All gaming controllers looks the same now...

Maybe the design and two control sticks and so on have to be standard now, but even then you can put in some colors, some clever design. This is just lame.

What is so "pro" with this thing? No nooks for the control stick, no analog shoulder buttons and no new design?
I wish me back in GameCube times: When holding a controller, the hands and controller merged into a glorified coalescence.

@MajinSoul: I don't see the need of a SD-card when the retail games are on card. The 32 GB of the WiiU was enough for all my digital purchases. Maybe someone needs a bigger SD card but surely not at launch.

@SuperWeird: You can't compare a new console's price with a console that is years old. It is still the launch price. But I agree that Nintendo should bundle the console with a game.

@MajinSoul That is not a fair calculation. You don't need a Pro Controller since there is a a ProCon. And you don't need a 256 SD-Card.
You can always add some thing to the price. Maybe Zelda (70$) and another game (70$).

Now the Switch has a price of 610$. Crazy!...

It is 299,99$. A fair price but of course not the best decision.

It is not as high as the WiiU price but that is a fair point.

2) trashy motion control games on launch
The WiiU missed out on good motion control games at launch. That would have changed a lot since Nintendo Land was not enough for the casual community.

3) low battery life
That was not really an issue with the WiiU and the Switch seems to improve a lot. 3-6 hours is quite good and with USB-C I don't see a problem at all. You can fully charge the thing under an hour.

4) only zelda worth buying at launch
The WiiU didn't have a Zelda at launch...

5) two launch titles only
That was not true for the WiiU and isn't true for the Switch as well.

6) dragon quest 10 and 11 Japan only
Maybe...

7) lots of you will have to wait a little longer games
That is true.

8) voice chat is an iPad app like Skype
