@gcunit Thanks! As a scientist, I do not see any science here. It is interesting to see the controller from the inside but graphite is often used in such connections (and in generators, motors and everything what rotates) and, of course, it will wear down over the time.

For me, it is absolutely not clear why this should be the reason for drifting. Of course, it definitely could be the sole reason but then we have to do real comparisons and tests with different control sticks.

It is easy to cry "bad design" when one has absolutely no idea what a good design would be.

I miss Iwata-Nintendo. Even when a console was not a success, the player and the fun was in the focus.

That was quite a time: Playing Mario Maker levels online for free and communicating over Miiverse with the creators.

@PCkid I do not hear what you want to insinuate here. The beginning sounds similar to the Corneria start but that is all. The pace and melody is completely different. Of course, he might be inspired by this soundtrack but nevertheless created something new. That is not theft..

@Drezus WiiU's control sticks were flawless. I only missed the notches. In direct comparison, the control sticks of the Switch are terribly small and uncomfortable. However, you are right, this mock-up does it even worse..

@DarkKirby I knew that you would something like this. This is not about a restrictive gaming law in Germany but about Nintendo not being honest. The law just says that Nintendo has to take measures to ensure that children cannot see the content that is not appropriate for their age. That is all. Nintendo was just to lazy to install any easy technical solutions in the eshop.
However, all this has nothing to do with playing video games too late.

I don't know why you think of an "anonymous robotic German guy". The German dubbing is way way way more serious than the occasional US-dubs.

@SonOfVon Point of dubbing is that people that do not understand English can enjoy the movie at a whole. And of course, Ryan Reynolds is not just dubbed with "some random German dude". The dubbing is done by real professional speakers or/and great German actors. Actually, often the German dubs are of especially high quality.

@DarkKirby Simply not true. There was never such a law that might be "active" at a time. Germany doesn't have some "crazy" media laws. I am not sure what you try to infer here.

However, a lot of people do not understand how dubbing for a trailer works: Usually, there is a script for the whole trailer and the speaker read and act it quickly.

@BlueOcean I disagree. I want that the age restriction is recognised immediately when the game is seen. The art is not ruined when there is a possibility of flipping the cover. Nintendo just have to do it.

@BlueOcean That is good discussion. The USK logo is not just an information that can be checked if wanted. It is an essential part in the selling process and controlled by law. The dealer has to inform, clearly and explicitly, about the age restriction and is not allowed to sell them to children under the age limit.

Of course, since parents (over 18 years old) are allowed to buy every game and often are not well-informed about games or even don't have any idea what is suitable for kids, the law could only be successful if the information is definitely and immediately recognisable. Therefore, we wanted a fixed size and a fixed place for all media. Now having the small Switch boxes, the logo seems too big. However, Nintendo could deal with it and having a second cover inside the box. That's totally up to Nintendo. Everyone could have a logo free version at home if Nintendo would spend the cents.

@BlueOcean That is a German law for the protection of the youth and logo has to be that big and it has to be on the front cover in the bottom left corner.

The USK logo has to be a fixed size (by law) and it is way bigger than the PEGI logo. Therefore, it makes sense to recreate the Box-Art.
By the way: A flip cover would be possible. There is no law that forbids having another cover without the USK logo inside.

By the way: Switch's Parents Control is the first program for protection of young people that is approved by the USK.

By the way: The zombie hover stills exists at the end. Just the RNG fairies are no longer involved. It now a "Morth hover" with less RNG but it still very hard.
