The Iwata Asks interview series was a wonderful resource for anyone wanting to get a behind-the-scenes perspective on the decisions and processes that go into making video games. They also gave us a glimpse of the personalities behind our favourite games, particularly that of the dearly-departed President of Nintendo, Satoru Iwata.
While we're still waiting for a hardbound Iwata Asks book (come on, Nintendo!), Japanese resident and free-time translator Nick Mosier is posting pages of a previously untranslated interview with Executive Producer of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers, Akitoshi Kawazu.

While the Wii game itself isn't particularly noteworthy, just seeing a jovial Iwata once again laughing with an interviewee makes this worth a read, in the same way that we read through all the other interviews whether we'd played the games or not. In the first part the pair discuss their 'mysterious' connections having both attended the same university and had various other coincidental 'connections' in their past.
Mosier is updating his website with each section of the original six-part interview as they're translated, so be sure to check it out if you want some old-school Iwata Asks laughs and feels.
Do you miss these interviews? Would you like to see the Iwata Asks series return in a book or even brought back in some form - a Bowser Asks series, perhaps? Let us know below.

Going to view it right away, this man is a legend my deep respect for him!
Deeply missed is our Iwata
The first page was very entertaining at least! Iwata had such a way of talking and practically being a friend to everyone. Dang, I miss that guy.
Awesome guy. Still feel the directs miss that little something without him (don't get me wrong they are still amazing.)
After 10.000 years... lost interest. lol just kidding
This is like a belated Christmas gift. One more Iwata Asks! Who could ask for more?
I truly miss these interviews, they were one of the best parts of a new release!
Edit: (laughs)
I miss this dude.....
This man is the PINNACLE of mankind !
It was the first time of my entire life that I cried for somebody that I never met in real life when he past away.
I consider Satoru Iwata as a modern hero, half man half angel.
He is a model for all of us.
@nintendolie
No doubt, the stress of the industry led to his death.
I miss Iwata-Nintendo. Even when a console was not a success, the player and the fun was in the focus.
That was quite a time: Playing Mario Maker levels online for free and communicating over Miiverse with the creators.
"While the Wii game itself isn't particularly noteworthy"
What? Crystal Bearers was great! Great use of the Wiimote and just a fun, lighthearted action adventure game in general.
I keep hoping they will port this game to switch if the first remake sales well. Rest in peace Iwata-denka.
Now I'm gonna cry...
