Re: Rumour: Mass Effect Trilogy Remaster Won't Be Coming To Switch After All, Says New Report

Casual_Gamer95

if the switch wasn't running on ARM architecture, it would have gotten the trilogy, i'm 100% certain. It's just a matter of EA not wanting to do an effort to convert the old engine. I seriously hope the rumours about the next gen switch having a mobile ryzen apu are true, this would allow for basically any game to run on switch since it would be the same architecture as a normal console.

The architecture being different is also why bandai chosed to skip the switch when it came to code vein, scarlet nexus and tales of arise, three of their biggest games. Less and less big japanese games are coming to the switch and it's making me want to immediately buy a ps5 to play them, even thought i'd be down for portable versions. I'm just tired of all of this.

So as long as nintendo does its own things and uses a different architecture, it will be mostly ignored by big publishers. They don't have time to spare just because one console is different AND less powerful

Re: Rumour: Port Specialist Bringing High Profile Shooter To Nintendo Switch

Casual_Gamer95

this is what gets on my nerves with the switch. it's either, the games skip the platform entirely and never make it, or they release so late, it's better to get them somewhere else because by the time it reaches the switch, the same game is like 30 bucks everywhere else.

And, i'm sorry but if i'm given the choice to buy a game at 30 bucks, i know will run decently on playstation or xbox OR get the same game, super downgraded, with possibly way more performance issues for 60$, i'll pick up the one that's 30 because it's less likely to be a waste of time and money.

I'm all in for more third party support on switch, for one condition: day and date release

Re: Rumour: Prince Of Persia Remake Won't Be Coming To Nintendo Switch After All

Casual_Gamer95

another game skipping the switch. jesus, i'm glad to also own a ps4, otherwise i would be sad to be a switch only owner, missing out on so many games.

when will nintendo learn that lack of equal power isn't the biggest problem, but to have a different architecture, is. If the switch had the same power as right now, but on tradditional 64bit pc architecture, like the xbox one, how much would you bet almost all third party games would make it to the switch?

It's not funny when even the simple bandai games (code vein, scarlet nexus, tales of) don't make it to the switch because it requires too much work to port it.

Re: Round Up: Gamescom 2020 - Here Are The Nintendo Switch Highlights

Casual_Gamer95

the future looks as dry as a desert when it come to big third party games and the switch. The switch is hitting the same problems the wii u had: lack of proper current gen third party support. The only difference here is that the switch sold well and to me it doesn't make sense publishers aren't finding ways to make games run.

so little big games actually made it to the switch and i'm getting tired of all this

Re: Amazon Lists Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered For Nintendo Switch

Casual_Gamer95

old games, again. thank god, i have other platforms where i can get the recent stuff. if i didn't have anything but the switch, i would be bored to death right now, third party wise.
my god, would it help nintendo get more third party games, if it had a little more power. When people say power doesn't matter i always cringe because without that power, you don't get the third party games from the current generation.

Re: FIFA Rival Pro Evolution Soccer Won't Be Making The Switch This Year

Casual_Gamer95

@nessisonett i don't agree at all. if it was in the same generation as ps5 and xbsx, it would have the proper hardware to run the games from the same generation, which the switch can't do at all. it's limited to last gen games and smaller scale projects from current gen. So yes, a generation is described by the jump in hardware power and it's not a fallacy, it's facts and it's why so many current gen projects don't release on switch.

Re: FIFA Rival Pro Evolution Soccer Won't Be Making The Switch This Year

Casual_Gamer95

@nessisonett the switch isn't next gen despite releasing after the wii u. the internal hardware has much more in common with what last generation hardware was capable of doing than what the ps4 and xbo are capable of doing. there's a reason why so many ports are from theps/360 era and there's a reason why so little current gen AAA games are releasing on the switch.

So technically, the switch is what a pro console would have been last generation.

Re: Video: The Switch Is A Wii U Port Machine, And That's A Good Thing

Casual_Gamer95

i never owned a wii u and i refuse to pay 80cad for ports. why would i make an exception for nintendo if most last gen ports by other publishers are no higher than 50$? i don't care those games "didn't have a chance of selling" it was nintendo's fault to begin with. they were the ones poorly marketing the wii u and consumer shouldn't have to pay for nintendo's mistakes.

Re: id Software Reveals The First Campaign Expansion For DOOM Eternal

Casual_Gamer95

i no longer care for doom eternal on switch. I didn't mind waiting at first but now that we have 0 details months after its announcement, no screenshots, no gameplay and no release date, it's clear to me that the nintendo switch lost its "class citizen" treatment bethesda and id software mentioned.

the switch is a little more than 3 years old, with a 61m install base. I'm tired as a switch owner to either get big games way later or not at all. I'm also tired that every publisher treats the switch as a double dip platform rather than an actual console.

within the last 4 months i have barely bought any games on my switch and started getting everything cheaper on my ps4 with the occasional 40$ game here and there on switch. My motto now for the switch is: "if this game is cheaper elsewhere, that's where i'll get it" I refuse to pay 80cad for something that is 39.99 cad anywhere else, even if it's portable.

Re: Nintendo Switch Sales Surpass 61 Million, Equalling The Mighty NES

Casual_Gamer95

and third party studios still treat the switch as a garbage bin/after thought? i want more tales of, but bandai is too lazy to make that happen and if it was to happen they would port it a year later because they're dicks! activision doesn't have a single call of on switch, like come on! rockstar, if the rating is to be believed will publish gta 3 on switch but won't even bring 5, which was on 360.

it really sucks to be a nintendo fan and because of the content drought, since the switch doesn't have as many big third party hitters, the drought feels worst!

Re: Online Retailer Lists Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit For Nintendo Switch

Casual_Gamer95

sigh... another last gen game. sometimes i regret owning a switch. it gets treated by publishers like absolute garbage. so many games that would have potential on switch (even downgraded) never release because their publishers never give a single sh*t about nintendo despite the install base.

For exemple bandai could have released other tales games, code vein and the last SAO but they didn't and they won't because "it's too difficult" or the good old "we would have to do a lot of modifications"

Re: Talking Point: Is EA's Switch Strategy Lazy, Or Simply Common Sense?

Casual_Gamer95

@graysoncharles exactly, the tegra x1 in its current form is actually difficult to work with and is the main reason why so many games never come to the switch. couple that with the overly slow memory bandwith... the switch is not far away from a last gen console performance wise.

i said it already, if the tegra was 64bit instead of arm, the switch would have got way more current gen ports.

Re: Talking Point: Is EA's Switch Strategy Lazy, Or Simply Common Sense?

Casual_Gamer95

@Leo2Kirby "Single core CPU performance is equal to X1X
GPU feature level is equal to X1X and PS5"

And where exactly is your source for that? I don't recall any developer saying such a thing about the Switch hardware. In fact many developers have said the Switch hardware has much more in common with an xbox 360 than anything else.

Let's also not forget the Switch memory bandwidth is so slow it bottlenecks the whole console. And we are already seeing ports bottlenecked by the tegra x1 as a whole.

I'm curious who said such a thing about the Switch

Re: EA Is Bringing Seven Games To Nintendo Switch Over The Next 12 Months

Casual_Gamer95

@SPL64 good? how? have you seen the way they announced apex for the switch? "I ThInK Im ForGeTTInG SomEthING... OH RIGhT APeX RLEasEs On SwITcH BuT WE haVE NO DETAiLs"

they also "ommited" to mention zoink's new game was also on switch. probably on purpose as well. EA is a ***** company and they don't care about the switch, just like activision

Re: Borderlands Collection Becomes Free On Epic Games Store, One Day Before Launching On Switch

Casual_Gamer95

There's a reason why there is no gameplay from influencers and all... 2k Haven't sent review codes to anyone. They only sent collectables to very few influencers to remind people those releases are still a thing.

No reviews, no gameplay, and no details on how every port runs. Sounds like they're just going to be garbage ports. That or they don't care for the Switch to a point where they want these to fail on purpose so they dont have to release anything else on Switch.

Re: Feature: XCOM 2 Collection Port Specialists Virtuos On Bringing The Series To Switch

Casual_Gamer95

i'm not a fan of virtuos's work on switch. i didn't like how la noire ended up on switch, i didn't like how dark souls ended up either (the audio compression was atrocious and there were downgrades compared to the 360 release, mostly some textures and alpha effects), i found starlink ok i guess and it bugged me as to why final fantasy 12 was 540p in handheld? couldn't they have done better? It wasn't a verry demanding game...

As for outter worlds, bioshock and xcom, since there's no gameplay at all weeks or days before release, i think i'm in full rights to be doubtful about these ports's quality.

Re: Unreal Engine 5 To Support Current-Generation Consoles And Mobile Platforms

Casual_Gamer95

porting an engine to the switch and getting games from the engine to run are two different things. UE5 might get ported to the nintendo switch but it doesn't mean UE5 games will, outside of fortnite, that is. The current UE4 games on switch all have something in common: if it's not uneaven frame pacing or framerate issues, it's the resolution that's very low or subpar.

And if UE5 is more demanding. i wouldn't expect the switch to get feature complete games unless they are exclusive projects tweaked to work on the X1 chip and the underclocked hardware the switch has.

Re: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 And 2 Remasters Officially Revealed, But They're Skipping Switch

Casual_Gamer95

less and less games are being announced on switch and i'm kindda frustrated even if i also own another console. The more it sells, the less interesting are the ports brought over to the platform. The switch has almost none of the recent announcements coming over and i'll quote virtuos in one of their interviews here:

"not taking advantage of the big install base of the nintendo switch would be a huge mistake"

and i'm sure investors must feel the same as well right now. You have that very popular platform, with about 60m people craving games, and you still don't take advantage of it?

It doesn't make ANY sense whatsoever. Both financially and business wise. Some japanese investors went as far as to pressure publishers like falcom to release more stuff on switch otherwise they would

"rethink about investing in future projects" and suddenly they announced TOCS 3 and 4 plus teased other projects were in the works for the switch. Don't think that was a coincidence.
