Re: A 'Pro' Switch With More Power Might Not Even Be Fully Utilised, Says Industry Veteran

Casual_Gamer95

@NoxAeturnus too bad it's physically impossible to release a pro dock. The reality is that the switch's usb-c port is too slow to take advantage of external power. If it had a usb-c port as fast as the newer flagship smartphones, maybe there would be a way around that but since the switch does not support quick charge it's physically impossible to use external hardware.

The only way around the current limitation is to release a switch twice as powerful, as sad as it may seem and since next gen will be truely started within two years, if nintendo wants to keep their partners they're gonna have to follow suite eventually

Re: Video: Digital Foundry's Technical Analysis Of DOOM Eternal On Switch

Casual_Gamer95

This is what bugs me the most with the switch: resolution. Unless i misunderstood the analysis, doom eternal is almost never hd, not even docked. And if anyone wants to play on the tv and own something else, why not get it there?

It's cool it exists but i feel like portable doom is nothing more than a proof of concept. Especially given its way below 600p in handheld. With low to midrange smartphones playing games at 1080p today i feel like to switch would really need a hardware upgrade to at least up the resolution in handheld.

Re: Sadly, The Chances Of Seeing Desperados III On Switch Aren't Good

Casual_Gamer95

@Zach777 it's not the only reason why tho. yes, partial physical games don't help but people tend to forget that with a user base of near 70M, many people ALREADY own a ps4/5/xbo/xs or pc to play these games. And i'd be lying to myself if i said the switch version is still the best.
I would much rather have cleaner visuals and better performance in these games. And MANY people that play these types of games think exactly the same way.

The switch doesn't shine with third party games, it shines with the indies and exclusives and maybe some last gen games, but anything current gen needs ***** ton of downgrades, so naturally people that already own a better platform will buy them elsewhere than on switch.

edit: also, they come late on switch and cost way more by the time they reach the platform, it's also another factor to consider. If i'm offered the same game, one full price and the ps version half of it, but with cleaner visuals and better performance, ps wins my choice. i ain't paying more for a downgraded game

Re: Sadly, The Chances Of Seeing Desperados III On Switch Aren't Good

Casual_Gamer95

this is something i brought up in 2018 when the switch was starting to explode in sales: it doesn't matter how many millions they sell, if it can't easily handle current gen gaming without lots of hassle, publishers just won't release the games on it.

fast forward to 2021 and it stands true. Many interresting titles won't make it on switch. For some reason some nintendo hardcore laughed at me, but who's laughing now? Better to be realistic than to live in a fantasy land where big games release on switch.

there's a reason why, more niche, lower budget JRPGs get on switch: they're not the most demanding games and these series probably already were on the ps vita anyways (atelier and trails of are an exemple). Publishers see the switch strictly as a handheld and because of that, they have this mindset of "i don't think it's gonna work"

Re: Frame Rate And Resolution For Monster Hunter Rise Demo Revealed

Casual_Gamer95

@JokerCK every time someone confuses graphics for resolution, i cringe. graphics and resolution are two separate entities in a game. Graphics are the quality of the textures and the level of details and resolution, well, says it all.

A game can have super detailed graphics but if the resolution is 540p for exemple, it's a wasted opportunity since the low resolution makes it harder to notice the level of details that went into making or porting a game. Many third party games on switch are hinderred by low resolution

Re: Random: Tekken Director Thinks His New Game Might Be Bandai Namco's Most Expensive Project Ever

Casual_Gamer95

bandai doesn't care for the switch. they only released last gen games or ports of vita games (the sao games) on switch alongside maybe one or two true "current gen" games and they weren't big projects still. I'd say bandai is done "supporting" the switch. They now have deals with microsoft and apparently they'd rather release their jrpgs there than make an effort and try to release at least one of them on switch.

Re: Ubisoft's Online Store Lists The Prince Of Persia Remake For Switch (Again)

Casual_Gamer95

@Amin_Parker it's the exact reason why i no longer own a switch. with the limited time i have to game, i can only concentrate on one platform and recently, literally ALL the games i'm interested in won't release on switch. So i sold everything so i could play these games on playstation.

Even my favorite bandai ips or my hyped new games from them are not coming to switch, despite them running in an engine that was already ported to the console.

Re: Bandai Namco's Tales Series To Celebrate 25th Anniversary With Special Broadcast

Casual_Gamer95

knowing bandai they will do ANYTHING in order to avoid releasing more of the series on switch. We're talking about the company that flat out ignored what fans were asking on switch and proceded to release the god-awful jumpforce instead of more tales of or SAO games.

IMO bandai can stick it up, i sincerely hope jumpforce didn't sell well on switch so next time they actually release ports that people want.

Re: Buy DOOM Eternal Early On Switch And You'll Get DOOM 64 And 'Rip And Tear' Pack Free

Casual_Gamer95

If you buy it on any other platform physically it comes with a next gen upgrade included. On switch it's incredibly late, is two times (if not 3) worse than the available versions and STILL costs 60$ while any other version is far cheaper.

And after that publishers wonder why people don't buy these as much as on the other platforms.

Yeah, as usual it's nintendo fans that get shafted the most. So much for it being a day and date release eh?

Re: Control: Ultimate Edition Is Available Now On Switch, But There's A Catch

Casual_Gamer95

@HotGoomba I've had too many pairs of joycon drift, didn't like their online service, and thought it didn't get enough big third party games. That was on the regular Switch. Got a Switch lite after that but eventually had enough with nintendo making the digital mario games available for a limited time. And i was still worried my lite would drift so i sold it before it happened

Re: Switch Is No Longer The Only Way To Play Bloodstained On The Move

Casual_Gamer95

@link3710 mid range smartphones from today would most likely run the game better than the Switch. Many phones with a snapdragon 730/35G would probably outperform the Switch version with the right amount of ram.

For exemple I'm pretty sure the pixel 4a 5g and lg velvet 5g would outperform the Switch for this game. And they're not super expensive

Re: A Follow-Up To The Outer Worlds Is Already In Pre-Production, Says Industry Insider

Casual_Gamer95

@Highlar no, it's horrible. the game barely runs at 25fps and it's even worst when starting combats, it drops even lower. the only moments it runs at 30fps, are if you're inside a building. and just because you're fine with it, doesn't mean everyone should accept this lack of quality when ports come to switch. Even obsidian basically admitted it wasn't great on switch later on and they promised a patch which they have yet to deliver.

so yes, horrible describes it perfectly, seeing how much better bigger games like witcher 3 look and run better on switch.

And before someone comes in and tell me "framerate doesn't matter", no, untrue. Nobody that respects it/herself wants to play games that run like powerpoint presentations

Re: Professor Layton Dev Level-5 Has No Plans For Future Games Outside Of Japan, Says Report

Casual_Gamer95

i don't want to be mean but i think it's not a big deal. the recent games they published just weren't to the same quality of previous one and i suspect they didn't sell well here.
i always thought ni no kuni was superior to ni no kuni 2. nnk2 felt like it was a ripoff of recent tales games in its combat and it felt overly generic in comparison to the first.
i also heard they are struggling with yokai watch...

Re: Nintendo Is Being Sued Over Joy-Con Drift Yet Again, This Time By A Child

Casual_Gamer95

Took the decision this morning to entirely boycott them until they come forward, admit publicly they are at fault and releases a physical revision of the joycons. I'm preparing to sell all my nintendo stuff today and won't look back until they are held accountable for this massive ***** show.

I'm part of the people that had multiple pairs drift prematurely on top of having a bad customer service.

Nintendo lost a customer that used to be loyal to their brand. I even used to be a fanboy but Right now, enough is enough. I will give my money to another console manufacturer in the meantime.

Re: Nintendo Reportedly Arguing Switch Joy-Con Drift "Isn't A Real Problem"

Casual_Gamer95

@Ventilator "Nintendo fixes drifting for free on warranty, so i can't understand why someone sue Nintendo."

you missed the point.

the point of multiple countries suing nintendo is to force them to release a physical revision of the joycons that will not drift prematurely like the current ones.

It's a widespread issue that has affected millions of people already. it's angering people because nintendo, instead of actually fixing the problem, offers free repair by replacing the joysticks, which in turn will STILL end up drifting later or shortly after the repair process. So their "solution" doesn't fix anything currently, it's not a permanent solution, it's a temporary one.

i've had 3 pairs drifting and one was "fixed" but drifted 2 months after again. So i'm among the people that re pissed off and want to see nintendo accountable for the poor hardware quality.

Re: Nintendo Reportedly Arguing Switch Joy-Con Drift "Isn't A Real Problem"

Casual_Gamer95

nintendo being dismissive. nothing new but it's very insulting and frustrating. i've had to deal with a total of 3 joycons pair with the drift issue and only one was sent for repair and it still drifted 2 months after, this is where i completely gave up. They're deffinitely not getting my money with their next gen offering. Joycons cost 99$ in canada, we deffinitely shouldn't be dealing with such crap when $70 controllers from microsoft and sony have none of these issues. Believe it or not, i have seen people say it's ok it's the norm because you can fix them for free. yeah sure, crawl back in your basement , this is not ok that the drifting issue is the norm.

Re: Nintendo Wins $2 Million In Lawsuit Against Switch Piracy Hack Store

Casual_Gamer95

@0L1V14 i had to replace my joycons 3 times when i had a normal switch because they all drifted and replacing them was less challenging than facing nintendo on the phone, since basically their costumer support is non existent.

Meanwhile out of my 5 ps4 controllers only one drifted 3 years later while the other ones were still working like new.

Que choisir in france did a global europ study proving at least 65% of the european joycons are deffective from drifting. So it deffinitely is a huge problem with nintendo and i'm tired of people like you that prentend it's ok because it's nintendo
