Capitalising the first letter of every word doesn't help, but it looks strange on published content when they don't do that.

Nintendo needs to dial back the kawaii image and get to the grey and brown gritty, mature games.

AC Shadows isn't even the best Yasuke simulator.

My interest in Nintendo started with the Switch. It ended with the Switch 2.

Xbox has been terribly handled in their push for the Xbox One launch vision, subscriptions, cloud, death of physical and owning nothing. Phil Spencer turned out to be more destructive than Don Mattrick - at least he had some successful early years with Xbox 360.

Ghostbusters (2016) is a classic example. You might have enjoyed that one.
More recently I can think of Velma, Rings of Power, Lightyear, Halo and The Witcher. All stinkers that most people don’t like, for a multitude of reasons that I can’t probably say within the community rules of this site.
The recent Mario movie was faithful to the source material and games at least, so I think Zelda will be fine.

That’s encouraging at least. A lot of franchises have been led by people that don’t care about the source material and only see it as a way to spread their political messages. Nintendo won’t allow it.

The Sweet Baby Inc detected list is fantastic, and I heard it’s expanding to include other DEI Blackrock-funded consultancies. I’m not supporting these companies and people that are ruining video games.

Will Nintendo be sifting through Steam Artwork pages for fan art with Nintendo characters next? I guess the legal issues are for Valve which is why modding should be kept as an unofficial underground thing.

Crystal Dynamics and their developers really hate Lara Croft, Tomb Raider and the fanbase. They wanted to sabotage these Aspyr remasters to promote their own boring Uncharted ripoff. Recently they changed her character so that she isn’t a tomb raider anymore and she fights against colonialism instead. Lame.

Playing with increased performance and higher resolutions. Playing Japanese releases with fan translations. Playing abandoned consoles and games - eg. Virtual Boy games on 3DS.

If you don’t like emulation or have never used an emulator before it’s fine, but it does have lots of good uses beyond piracy. I do think emulating a console currently being sold and developed for is a bit iffy though.

Discord is based in San Francisco. Better to use Telegram groups for discussing emulation, or another platform not located within a “western” country.

Tomb Raider was much bigger deal in the UK. All my friends had PlayStations and never played Mario - except maybe on GameBoy.

Also never heard of EMEA before. I guess that’s just a US corporate word for outside the US and Japan.

If we have to buy new controllers then I think it’s not the end of the world. Backwards compatibility is the important one.

Iterative upgrade is exactly what I wanted. $400 is fine. If it doesn’t play Switch 1 games then I’m not upgrading for quite a while since I already have too much in the backlog. Trying to buy one for the first few months will be difficult.

Virtua Tennis 5 is needed more than anything else. We haven’t had a good tennis game since Top Spin 4 and Virtua Tennis 4 back in the 360/PS3 era.

This one looks really bad and the aesthetic is not for me.

Already sold my OLED and got a Switch Lite for £60. Saved the rest for the next Switch.

Sony were first to mainstream with the PSP and Vita over 10 years ago. I wouldn't accuse Nintendo of a lack of innovation.

Nintendo didn’t invent OLED screens, microSD storage or video output/dock function. The only new thing that Nintendo implemented were the detachable joycon controls - which the Steam Deck doesn’t have.

Disney can’t even make good TV or movies. Their best games are just LucasArts re-releases.

I love Jedi Outcast, but older PC games really don’t transfer well to console when it comes to aiming. The Xbox version should have been ported to Switch for the aim assist - which makes the first few levels much better.

This is a really bad article and anti-consumer take. It seems to be written for Nintendo rather than the readership. In the age of digital purchases, people want them protected and brought forward.
