Re: Video: Banjo's Smash Reveal Made For Some Crazy Scenes At Nintendo NYC

CapeSmash

I'm assuming the people calling anyone who freaked out over this reveal 'mentally ill' don't understand what a big deal Smash is. Smash is a huge deal, and at this point it's a video game character hall of fame, which makes the series one of the biggest forces in hype culture. Banjo being in is also a huge deal. People have been wanting him in Smash for well over a decade and this is his first appearance on Nintendo in 14 years. Just because you didn't freak out over their reveal doesn't mean you're better than anyone that did. And keep in mind that these people were in a crowd, and you all know how crowds act.

@Manah The crowds at Nintendo NYC lose their minds over anything Smash related, so it's not really surprising

@Baart I'd hate to see what you think about people who lose it over sports

@KennyBania People being happy and excited is le cringe

Re: Rumour: Super Mario And Rabbids Crossover In Development For Nintendo Switch

CapeSmash

Sounds ridiculous, but interesting at the same time. It's a Mario RPG (at launch), plus there are party members (which haven't been in Mario RPGs for a while now.) I wonder how the gameplay will differ from the Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi series.

It's also interesting that this is being developed by Ubisoft, and not Nintendo. I personally think this is more than likely real, and I look forward to seeing its official reveal.

Re: Here Are The Games Officially Confirmed in the Nintendo Switch Reveal

CapeSmash

@GoldenGamer88 Wow, you saw like 3 seconds of footage of the new Mario game, and you've come to the conclusion that it's 3D World 2.0 and it's linear? Seriously? You're jumping the gun this early? Also, the triple jump returns (which was absent from 3D World), and the camera is behind Mario's back like in Mario 64. It seems like a blend of 3D World, Galaxy, and 64 to me.

EDIT: Also, a heart container is seen in the distance in that one area with the Bullet Bill. Again, it is NOT 3D World 2.0. Don't be so pessimistic.

Re: Risa Tabata Talks Paper Mario's New Focus on Puzzle-Solving

CapeSmash

@JaxonH Yeah, I'm still hoping the game will be good. I'm interested to see the end game. I believe the producer said there was a twist, so I'm looking forward to seeing it. I just hope it isn't Bowser or something dumb like that.

I'm going to dive into all the spoilers after the game is released, and if it seems any good to me, I'll probably pick it up. But for now it just looks like Sticker 2.0 to me. But we'll see.

Re: Risa Tabata Talks Paper Mario's New Focus on Puzzle-Solving

CapeSmash

@JaxonH I can't get hype for a game that looks the same as its predecessor. The only Paper Mario game I played was Sticker Star, and I hated the battle system in that game. Color Splash looks more of the same. And the fact there are no new characters (other than the paint bucket) or enemies is a huge turn-off to me. Seriously, this "only use characters that appeared in the Mario series" is an incredibly stupid rule to have. Why limit the creativity?

Re: Risa Tabata Talks Paper Mario's New Focus on Puzzle-Solving

CapeSmash

@Anti-Matter Lol there's a randem dancing pig so funne. XD

@JaxonH No, that video didn't make me interested in the game at all. What makes this gameplay footage hype? It's cool that they have the enemies as NPCs instead of Toads (even though very generic), but that's it. The video is just Mario talking to enemies, and then they show more of the (IMO) unfun looking battle system. Again, how is this hype?

Also, what is up with all the people only buying the game for the graphics? I'm seeing this on other sites especially. In fact, I saw one person say "the graphics will make up for the mediocre gameplay." This is getting sad.

Re: Super Smash Bros. 1.1.6 Patch Is Landing Soon On Wii U And 3DS

CapeSmash

Ganon buffs please. Give his grab more range.

@Gauchorino Smash replays aren't videos, they are CPUs recreating the match you saved a replay of. If they didn't delete everyone's replays after a balance patch, there's a good chance the inputs in the replays would mess up. So that's why they have to delete them every time they do a balance patch.

@Zach777 Smash Wii U and 3DS have completely different stages, so that would probably be impossible. Even the stages shared between both versions have some differences between them.

@Mechageo To do that, they would probably have to remove some button configurations from the controls menu. But why would they do that for a playstyle that's really hard to use and no one is using? There's no point in patching it out.

Re: Video: Fans Mod Goku Into Super Smash Bros. For Wii U

CapeSmash

Shrek should be in Smash too. He's a very famous character, right up there with Mario and PAC-MAN. He would fit very well in the game's art style, and has appeared in dozens of games, a bunch of which turned out to be successful. We need to get him modded in this game, but more importantly, get him in the next Smash!

Re: Weirdness: The NES Zapper Just Became Much Deadlier

CapeSmash

People are losing their minds over this? What? Why? It's not like these things are being masproduced. This seems like a neat little project someone made just for the sake of "How would the NES Zapper look like if it was an actual gun?" and nothing more. It's not like the sole purpose of this gun was made for shooting up innocent people, and to let kids play with it. And what is up with these people saying NO ONE should be allowed to own a gun? You people are waaay too sensitive these days.

Re: Poll: Which Is The Best Mario Spin-Off Series or Game?

CapeSmash

The Mario Baseball series (Super Sluggers specifically). Really really fun game, with the best Mario character roster by far (they have all the main characters, the important spin-off characters, all the major enemies, and a good majority of the DK characters). I really hope they make a sequel soon...

Re: Minecraft Finally Digs Its Way Onto the Wii U eShop on 17th December

CapeSmash

The amount of salt in this comments section is absolutely hilarious. "I hope this wasn't the big announcement!" LOL. How many times do we have to telll you guys to not get super hyped over stuff like this? But no. You raise your hype levels through the room, then when the announcement finally drops, you cry on the internet on how disappointed you were by it.

Also, Nintendo never said there was a "BIG ANNOUNCEMENT ZOMG" today. But you know who did? An employee at NoA that manages the indie stuff. And you know where it was announced? It was announced by the same NoA employee in a podcast interview ABOUT indies.

ALL SIGNS OF THE ANNOUNCEMENT POINTED TO IT BEING AN INDIE RELATED ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE BEGINNING. Now stop crying, and just accept that this is the big announcement.

Re: Project M Development Ends as Its Team Looks Ahead to 'New Projects'

CapeSmash

Sad. It was a really well made mod, that had a lot of passion put into it. A lot of people see it as only "Brawl with Melee game mechanics", but it was much more than that. That was the intent at first, but as the time went on, they started shifting their focus to other things. Such as making a gazillion really well crafted character costumes, making new stages and bringing back old ones, brought back old characters from the ground up, new music, new modes, etc. It was a great effort, so it's sad to see it go.

I wish them the best in their future endeavors.

Re: Review: Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam Bros. (3DS)

CapeSmash

Still looks extremely generic. Generic worlds, enemies, NPCs, and story make me not want to support this game. That was the main reason why I hated Sticker Star. I'm sick of these "It's like NSMB... but an RPG!" type of games. Sorry, I prefer to have originality in my games.

Re: Feature: Our Top 10 Wii U Retail Games - Third Anniversary Edition

CapeSmash

3. Super Mario Maker
2. Super Mario 3D World
1. SMASHHH

I also own MK8. It's a very fun game, but it's very overrated. A lot of people ignores its flaws, and call it "the best racing of all time." Like I said, it's a fun game, but I don't think it's worthy of that much praise.

I used to own New Super Mario Bros. U, New Super Luigi U, Captain Toad, and Sonic Lost World. But I sold them for Mario Maker because they're boring/underwhelming. Also, NSMBU has got to be the most overated game on the Wii U. You people do realizes that it's just the Wii version, but with new backgrounds... right? Yet, people praise it a lot.

@VanillaLake Yes, I have played them. SM3DW is still a good game. I think it's better than Sunshine and Galaxy 2.

Re: Final Fantasy's Cloud Is Set To Cause Some Strife In Super Smash Bros. On Wii U And 3DS

CapeSmash

What's up with "NOT ANOTHER SWORDSMAN!" comments? There's about 11 swordsman on the roster. Now compare that to the 40 characters in the game that don't use swords. I don't get it.

And what the hell is up with the K. Rool hate in here? I'm really confused by all of it. He's a loved villain from a popular Nintendo series... what's there to hate exactly? Because he's a popular requested character? If so, that's ridiculous. There are way more requested characters out there that are more popular than K. Rool. You're pretty much hating the underdog for no reason, which is kind of pathetic. Direct your hate towards the characters people want in because "muh bandwagon", and not the characters that people are really passionate about wanting in. Absolutely ridiculous.

Re: The Next Nintendo Direct is on 12th November

CapeSmash

@JaxonH The leak IS NOT REAL. Fake leaks in the past have accurately predicted Nintendo Direct dates before, but the leaks themselves have turned out 100% false despite that (i.e. the January and April ND 4chan "leaks"). Also, the "leak" mentions talk about mobile. But as people have pointed out in the comments section, the ND website said there won't be any mobile (and NX) talk.

So yeah. IT'S FAKE.

Re: Crazy Super Mario Maker Level Creator, Panga, Has Produced Another Insane Level

CapeSmash

I think people are missing the point of these levels. Levels like these show how insane some people can be with level design. They're not suppose to be your average run of the mill "fun and challenging" SMM level. These types of levels are supposed to be nearly impossible to beat. It makes them more fun to watch, and beating them feels really good. These well-designed super hard, off the wall SMM levels aren't that common anyway. So I have no idea why people complain about them. It's such a petty thing to complain about.

Re: Zelda Fans Vent Anger At Nintendo of America Over Doge Memes In Tri Force Heroes

CapeSmash

The people who are defending this are more angry than the people "offended" by this. These people are going as far as to tell the people upset by this to "rethink their lives", and they're "dumb". Really now? Calm down people. No need to be so toxic.

As for what I think of the doge meme reference? I think it's stupid, but I'm not going to lose sleep over it. I can see why people are upset by it, though. It's just a poor attempt at humor.
