@JaxonH I actually agree with your level of hype exactly bar I would swap Rhythm Heaven for Paper Mario, simply because Paper Mario looks like Sticker Star. I'll reserve full judgment but it's not looking great!
I'm starting to truly believe PSVR will do well but honestly, I don't see it impacting any sales of any handheld device and, depending on the gimmick, the NX. Different market.
It's great for those new to buying one but there really is no compelling reason to upgrade (presuming you have a Wii or Wii U for Xenoblade or are not interested in it).
@shani the balance issue is easily resolved by making it part of a non-ranked specific mode or by separating rankings in its own mode. The install base is big enough to accommodate.
The competative scene would be unaffected, but that's not the game's target market anyway. Don't trample on fun!
I just hope a couple of titles do better than expected and elavate their mainstream status a little more.
Gaming needs this sort of studio to do well. There's been far too much OTT AAA catering to too few genres and sur-par indie shovelware stuff (that's not a jab at the indie scene on the whole, just a device to make the wider point) with everything inbetween getting closed down.
This account system appears more confusing than previously. It's simple: one account, one ID. Why the NNID, My Nintendo and Nintendo account?
Even if Nintendo themselves wanted to differentiate, they could do that based on where you log in (i.e. If they want NNID 'data' just lift it from the console login) or even better: duplicate the log in details automatically so all accounts use the same details, even if different data is lifted from them.
It's convoluted and pointless.
As for the rewards thing, I'm cool with it. I like physical goods as much as the next person but if digital games/discounts are the rewards, I'm totally cool with that.
I get the feeling it will see a Japanese release this year and US/Euro 2017. I bet that's why we're hearing of Japanese devs with dev kits but little leaking from the big Western firms (some of whom leak all over the place, frequently...)
Then again, Bamco, Capcom, Sqeenix have a lot of relevance in the West so it is just me speculating, as we all are.
@Drumpler I think Smash would certainly benefit from having an enhanced NX version, so they can justify adding even more content to a (hopefully) wider audience
@invictus4000 I'd love to get some feedback on mine, if you fancy it? Play a few of mine, I'll play some of yours (or all if they're decent!), what do you reckon?
Wow that would have been very marketable for its time. Perhaps they couldn't realise a consumer ready plan at a reasonable cost before PCs had similar, readily available tools?
@sillygostly I'm surprised too, as it's very niche these days.
On the other hand it must be realllllly easy to implement given the online mode is already there. They likely use the exact same set up but lag free haha
@Fearful-Octopus I wouldn't be surprised if Bamco were told they can't do a story mode, given the protective nature of the Pokemon Co.
Then again , Spike Chunsoft get a lot of freedom on that front.
Personally I don't mind a lack of story per-se but an alternative single player mode of some description would be nice (maybe star based leveling up thing on a static pseudo-world map with half-asset story snippets- think early Soul Calibur).
Annnyways, I'm really looking forward to this and, 30FPS will be fine for local- I'm just glad it's got it!
Decent RPG-driven year for the 3DS, a few awesome looking Wii U games - namely SMTxFE, Zelda X2, Pokken, Star Fox - but unless there are a few more, it will be a slow year for the Wii U.
However, these coupled with the NX reveal + new account system have me very optimistic overall!
I truly hope this isn't the rumoured amiibo F2P title. Like a fool, I expected some form of adventure game (prayed for 3D, expected 2D due to it being for Wii U and budget likely small), where they'd utilise character's own abilities.
This isn't what I had in mind...
Ah well, open mind: I'll give it a try at least! Maybe isn't the same project
I share the view that VR will break mainstream but firmly believe it will be via PlaystationVR, possibly after an initial flop, followed by a price cut once the tech cost reduces. That's of course, unless the price is lower than expected (most reckon around the cost of the PS4).
Rift and Vive just demand too much horsepower at the moment but once components come down, you'll likely see a flood of ready built PCs (perhaps competively powered/priced Steam boxes in a couple of years).
This guy realllllly needs to be taken off PR. It's one dumb, alienating comment after another. The pricing comment, the PSVR comment, the damage control. Just stop.
I hate my country for gaming. Honestly, it's hard to ever have a conversation at work about gaming in general, beyond the odd open world RPG like Fallout.
Otherwise I'd be talking about Fifa, COD and GTA... no thanks.
Xeno doing nothing here doesn't surprise me in the slightest, but it still disappoints me. I swear Nintendo better remove region locking from the next gen.
I think people are missing the point. It's not that he said it was a 'machine' that's important, it's the context of the question and answer that pretty much say it's a home console (or primarily a home console) + he would likely know given their ties.
No it's not concrete, not even close, but I believe it's more news-worthy than a lot of the other NX rumours that have had column space.
@Maxz Your point holds even more weight given that the update has WR times. It's very irritating going for a fast time and having to restart via the menu
I'm kinda annoyed that some of Fates MC stuff is effectively ruined though (doesn't matter hugely as it's probably barely touching on plot much - partial dragon transformations... but, you know).
Either way, my amiibo collection is waaaaay too big and I need to curb it... This makes things difficult haha. Hope Ryu and Cloud are well stocked!
It sucks but how can they care THAT much? Then again, maybe they don't and it was just an observation + mild annoyance haha.
Not sure if there's a timestamp but Miiverse comments should provide that so they can bask in their own glory if they've been ripped off.
I'm going to make myself feel like a bit of a hypocrite here but I just remebered a useful example for context: I used to hear people ripping off some of my riffs in the local band community and that used to REALLY annoy me.
Then again, I would be happy if people ripped off my Mario Maker levels as long as there was a spin on it.
As a huge Atlus and JRPG fan (as well as having a lot of love for SMT and Persona games) I honestly am looking forward to this game more than anything else on the console.
It looks more SMT in many ways than a lot of people seem to think (the aesthetic is way more Persona, granted but all the other aspects seem SMT inclined to me).
As for the FE side of things, I'm not seeing anything but fun nods to the series. I'm cool with that though. I like FE but anyone looking for a FE fix needs to wait for Fates - this isn't even an SRPG.
Nintendo simply don't pump enough money into UK marketing, they're just non-existant. The Wii brand and Nintendo are practically separate entities as far as layperson is concerned over here.

Re: Super Mario Bros. Z Creator Launches New Patreon Page After Nintendo Takedown
Yeah, think you've covered it: No beef if it's not for profit, but obviously needs to go if it's making any. And it seems like it might be.
Re: Exclusive Content and Modes Outlined for Pokkén Tournament, No DLC Currently Planned
@zip that's interesting but then again, I will hang on to every word of anyone with a Gin avatar...
Annnyways, really looking forward to the single player mode now, hoping it will be a tad meatier than the average arcade mode
Re: Splatoon Action Figures Will Be Inking Their Way To A Toy Store Near You Soon
@SheldonRandoms they have Smash: amiibo!
Jokes aside, I think my daughter would love Splatoon figures!

Yeah, sequel is already happening, unless they're doing an enhanced NX version.
I hope to see an option to take a local co-op team online.
Re: Review: Project X Zone 2 (3DS)
Loved the first one, despite the insane length of the later battles (I was playing them over 2 separate nights towards the end).
Had a blast and I'm really looking forward to trying the new battle elements listed above. Great review.

Handheld NX + Wii U version with all DLC, I suspect

Re: Random: Eager Super Mario Maker Creator Shares Mario's Lost World, a 38 Stage Extravaganza
@Danrenfroe2016 I'm with you there. It feels like they could easily implement some of this stuff but are choosing not to.
If there is an NX version I pray it has a TONNE more content
Re: Hardware Classics: Nintendo Super Scope
My friend had one and I borrowed it on occasion. Had a lot of fun with it but can't remember what any of the software was like for the life of me.
I've always been a fan of the light gun/on-rails shooter style. Hopefully VR will provide some decent ones.
