Nintendo has woken up to the massive merchandising potential of its library of brands in recent years, and one of the most welcome collaborations involves toy maker Jakks Pacific, which is responsible for the excellent World of Nintendo line.
It would now seem that the company is keen to go beyond the obvious with this line. Speaking to VideoGameHeat at the New York Toy Fair 2016, Jakks Pacific's Scott Neitlich appeared to confirm that Splatoon figures are already on the horizon (he mentions Metroid in the same comment, but a Samus figure already exists in the World of Nintendo line):
It would seem that the company is keen to hear what figures fans personally want, so why not post your own suggestions in the comments below? Neitlich might be watching...

I'd love some Xenoblade Chronicles action figures and maybe some Xenoblade X Skell model kits would be cool.
@AcidGhost
That would include Faces, right?
Awesome! I could use more Splatoon merch. And hopefully if they make more Metroid figures there will be a Ridley as well!
The more toys Nintendo release the more attractive the PlayStation looks.
Seriously. A lot of folk will be hanging on to see what the NX is all about. If like the Wii U there is a bad launch list and the NX does not pull gamers in straight away, either because its over priced, to childish, or Zelda is the BIG launch game, then many games will look else where.
@zool What does the NX or Playstation have to do with this?
@SaKo Yeah, I'm curious to know as well. That's zool though, at least once an article he will find a way to say he hates what Nintendo is doing and saying he's basically done, but continue posting in the next article how horrible everything they do is.
I'd love to see more diversity in the Metroid line (Hunters, anyone?) and honestly, the more Nintendo stuff I can put on my shelf, the better!
I would like to see Bayonetta 2 figures in that line somehow, they could proabbly find a way if demand is there, also, Elite Beat Agents plz!
Also, Super Smash Bros. line would be swell!
@SheldonRandoms they have Smash: amiibo!
Jokes aside, I think my daughter would love Splatoon figures!
Considering I already have Amiibo for Splatoon, the odds I'd bother buying an action figure are mighty small. It's easier to justify Amiibo since they have functions beyond sitting on my shelf, and now that they've got me there, I don't see it going into figures as well. Maybe they'll get the folks who hate Amiibo on board, though.
Please have Fire Emblem, Pokemon and more Super Mario Nintendo! Pretty please?
NY Toy Fair + Jakks Pacific = Win for parents and kids who would rather spend $5 for a toy they aren't going to use in a video game than $13 for an amiibo they aren't going to use in a video game.
@zool Are you saying Xbox One is selling poorly b/c of all of those Halo mega blok sets? Or The Walking Dead is a bad TV show b/c they have a toy line? Nor sure if you have been paying attention or not but collectibles are a business - Portal in Lego Dimension. Bioshock, Game of Thrones, you name it, it has a toy line. The only thing this does is raise awareness for the brand, nothing bad there. NX will rise or fall on its own, but the more merchandising the better as far as I'm concerned. Having a SSB themed bar mitzvah for my son it was a real nuisance trying to find decorations and knick knacks for the goodie bags and such. My next son is having a Staw Wars theme, plenty of merchandise there. Yet all that merchandise didn't stop the movie making over a billion dollars. Jakks Pacific is a non-issue.
Jakks have already had way to much of my money in the last 10-15 years when I had a wrestling figure obsession! They do listen to the fans though, I remember a couple of guys from jakks being quite active on a wrestling action figure forum, always answering questions and asking for suggestions. I picked collecting amiibos over the world of ninty line though but id definitely want a duck hunt duo 2 pack if I did collect them
YES!
I bought 2 of their giant Metroid figures and wouldn't mind a smaller version.
@rjejr you have missed the point. Toys etc are fine for those who want to waste their cash in them.
As long as they don't interfere with the playing of the game, which some seem Amiibos do.
Action figures? How about full scale Splatoon guns? They could be water or actual paint ball guns. That would be pretty cool.
If they do Splatoon merchandise, I sure hope they make a Jellyfish/Jelonzo figure! Jellyfish are adorable in that game. I'd love for them to make Xenoblade, Earthbound, and/or Fire Emblem figures, but none of those are very likely to happen unfortunately. They've come out with a lot of cool figures so far though, so I'm sure whatever they do pick to make will still be great.
