I'm always told that Nintendo is, "different," whenever people try to argue that consoles and exclusive games don't sell anymore.

@beartown 3DO is still part of history! And it was at least aiming for mainstream.

@Aventurier None of them have been fixed yet! Even the new emulator has issues, games like Wild Arms, Blood Omen, and Blood Omen 2 stutter like crazy.

@Mando44646 There are quite a few PS4 games that have issues on PS5, minor and major. A lot of the PS2 Classics on PS4 have major texture issues on PS5.

I'm starting to really like this new tech-forward Nintendo. Never played Splatoon before, but might check it out now.

Harvestella looks like a new game with maximum resolution scaling and locked framerate. Dreamscaper is a drastic improvement with maximum resolution scaling even in performance mode (which is now locked at 60fps).

@Doctor-Moo Best case scenario is that the compatibility layer can be updated that so games scale better natively. Maybe they could use integer scaling, I know other PC handhelds do.

@Doctor-Moo Wouldn't that make attached controllers and the touchscreen unusable in games that support it?

People were already melting down about the price as it is, imagine what an OLED version would cost!

As far as what I think, I rarely ever play handheld but what I have seen is a big step up from my OG LCD Switch. The major issue that I've read about is that most Switch 1 games don't scale up properly in Switch 2 handheld mode, and OLED wouldn't fix that.

I'm loving my Switch 2 experience. Native improvements for any game with dynamic resolution scaling and/or unlocked framerates are a massive plus.

Beyond that, everything just feels significantly nicer and more premium. System surround sound is fantastic, HD Rumble 2 is nice and punchy, the face buttons on the Joy-Cons feel great, and the analog sticks are the best I've ever felt!

@jwfurness All first-party carts contain the full game, IIRC.

I'll probably buy it and pretend to love it just to be a contrarian

Glad I waited this long to play Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom!

Agreeing with everyone saying this was likely rushed for launch day.

I also wanted to make a snarky remark about Switch players being used to choppy framerates.

It would be nice, but I'll never use the Chat button and am not planning on using the back buttons either. That and I prefer the transparent look of the first one.

Haven't played much after finishing up the game I was actively playing. First thing I'm going to do on Switch 2 is see just how good the translation layer works for OG Switch games!

Was planning to get this pretty much for Project Justice, but if there's no single player content then there's no point.

@axelhander I love JRPGs, warts and all, so I get concerned when something is popular with people who despise them (at least on Reddit). But then again, internet people hate everything so who knows.

@axelhander Like someone on PushSquare said, it seems to be hailed up as an all-time JRPG by people who hate JRPGs. I'm wary of the hype.

@joeyflannel Heat dissipation becomes a problem at those form-factors with modern games and hardware components. Vita and DS weren't powerful enough to need active cooling.

I'll pay for whatever allows me to play a game. Digital vs physical comes down to price, pretty much. Digital storage is certainly a constraint, but physical space is also finite.

Pro Controller 2 and a Micro SD Express card.

I didn't think they took console boxes. The ones around me act like a console is stolen if it comes in a box and is in "too nice" condition...

PCMR are the worst. Console warriors are annoying, but they are massively overshadowed by what I call the hot rod crowd of gaming.

Best thing about 120fps is the drastically reduced input delay, which is a godsend for shooters and racers (and really anything where quick motions are key).

Love technology and computing power, so I'm very excited about Switch 2!

Hopefully it plays a Bowser laugh if you're not subscribed.

The demo was really cool, and hopefully Switch 2 will iron out some of the performance issues.

This is what I'm happiest about aside from Switch 2's large technology improvements. Always feels weird to have a partial series.
