The entire handheld PC market is around 6 million units, with Steam Deck holding a 2/3 share. I don't see an Xbox-branded unit that won't even play all of the console games doing anything significant in that space.

Didn't get any of the GameCube, Wii, 3DS, or Wii U ports I wanted so -540/10

Hopefully they announce Twilight Princess & Wind Waker HD double pack, Fire Emblem Path of Radiance & Radiant Dawn double pack, Bravely Default & Bravely Second double pack, Shin Megami Tensei IV & Apocalypse double pack, a new Wario Land, and remasters of The Last Story, Pandora's Tower, Arc Rise Fantasia, Fragile Dreams, MadWorld, Conduit, Geist, Eternal Darkness, Eternal Kingdom I & II, and P.N.03

If these are just roms, then that kind of explains it. Emulation is CPU-heavy and that's Switch's biggest weak point.

The problem with subscriptions.

Sad how some people are more upset at Nintendo catching shade than someone's entire game being stolen.

@Grumblevolcano Oh no, I would hate to be able to play better looking and better performing versions of all those.

I'd strongly prefer Virtual Console or remasters over NSO. Bravely Default, Bravely Second, both Shin Megami Tensei IV games, and Samus Returns would be wonderful.

@Serpenterror You're giving waaaaaaaaay too much credit for AI-generated/asset-flip/ripoff titles from unscrupulous devs. Many of which don't even have PS5 kits, by the way. 😆

I play docked 98% of the time, so the screen type isn't important to me.

@electrolite77 You're right, it's my common mistake to think that the "just consoom!" types have standards.

@Serpenterror Not AAA yet they charge AAA prices. And I didn't say all their games are low effort, but the fact that this rerelease has longer load times than Wii or 3DS, graphical glitches the other two versions didn't have, and bugged co-op yet still sells well is very interesting.

This is why Nintendo will never cut prices. Their 8-year-old hardware and low-effort-but-full-price remasters still sell like crazy.

How many boomers will I be able to shoot in this?

Never used them, but still keep them because my local game shop won't buy Switches without them. GameStop used to give you extra credit for joy-cons with the straps, but don't anymore.

Can't wait to play all my favorite hentai puzzle games in 4K!

@nhSnork Very good points. Switch is my first Nintendo console and I just got back into video game altogether 5 years ago. Not experienced in brand new Nintendo console launches, this will be the first!

@Gatorclops I'll be upgrading ASAP, but I'm just wondering because if most of the playerbase doesn't care about graphics and framerate, Switch 2 doesn't have much of a hook.

I wonder how many Switch owners will want to upgrade. Most of the userbase doesn't care about the technology or power/performance, so something else will have to hook them.

Saw another monkey-based ripoff game last night: Wukong Sun - Black Legend

This could be another silly thing for me to play in handheld mode like Suika Game. I love curry, as well.

Mary Skelter 2: 109 hours. Was absolutely convinced I'd hate it, but here we are. Just now on the finale chapter, too!

Harvestella: 89 hours. I love this game and will probably start a new playthrough soon.

Shovelware usually doesn't get reviewed by anyone, so they don't make it on lists like this.

@AmplifyMJ The PlayStation store has gotten pretty bad recently.

The first Moonlighter had some major performance issues on Switch, they're probably waiting until the new console is announced.

I thought Switch fans were boycotting this series after one of the studio heads said Switch is for kids?

@Polley001 Mine did that a few weeks ago, but it fixed itself.

I'm excited because of the three consoles, Switch 2 has the largest potential for improvement.

Innovation you can't find anywhere else

I remember someone from RGG saying the Switch is for kids, and people here swore to never play any Yakuza game.

I wonder why they're going so hard for an E10 rating when the original was T. The T-rated mobile port of DQ III on Switch was just on sale last week.

This has been on my Steam wishlist forever, but I'm definitely getting it for Switch instead. New Blood is fantastic!

Digital Foundry is a game technology review site, not a gameplay site. Some people are interested in/care about the technology.

And the narrative that 60fps is some modern innovation couldn't be more wrong. Plenty of SNES, Genesis, and earlier platform games ran at full speed (determined by TV technology). 7th Gen is where we see the most frame-limited games because graphical tech became extremely heavy relative to the consoles' power. Plenty of games run smooth on Switch, but a lot don't. People being disappointed that a first-party 2.5D game has performance issues is not bad. The attitude of "It's Nintendo, just shut up and buy!" is why games aren't usually patched.

But hey, cars didn't have seatbelts or airbags at one point and people were fine, so why should they bother now?!

I thought Switch players swore off the series because the director said the platform was for kids
