Re: Zelda Live-Action Movie Director Promises To Be "Ambitious"

BongoBongo123

I really wish that they weren't making this into a live action movie. An anime in the style of Castlevania (not the same themes though) could have been really good. At worst this is going to the worst movie since Freddy Got Fingered. Get ready for the embarrassment (although the voice acting in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom is a good embarrassment breakfast).

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Mario vs. Donkey Kong

I got into this series because of the demo of the remake, realised that I have the original on 3DS, played through the whole game. It is really addictive and it's satisfying when you complete a puzzle. I love the game because of the gameplay loop and it's origins are really interesting. I've tried the sequel on the DS and don't know why some people say the original isn't the best in the series? Just guiding the mini marios doesn't seem as satisfying.

Re: Another Code: Recollection Sets Up Mystery In Brand New Trailer

BongoBongo123

I never got a chance to play the original so will definitely get this. I'm under the impression that it's quite a short, fun adventure. Is that true? Games are so long nowadays, it's nice to play through something that's around seven or eight hours. I definitely don't need many 100 hour rpgs in my life. Even something like Zelda can outstay it's welcome.

Re: Poll: Which Is The Best Ganondorf?

In his Ocarina of Time design he looked like he could fight. I loved his WW design as it really matched his personality in that game. Gotta always go with the Ocarina of Time design as the best though. He was so angular and cool looking. As time has passed I've liked the TP design less and less. He just doesn't look 'cool'.

Re: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom's Final Pre-Launch Trailer Is Absolutely Stunning

@BTB20 I grew up with the classic n64 titles. The stories in these games could seriously be described as epic, and timeless. For me, the voice acting in BOTW, and apparently this game, ruin any serious or epic tone. Zelda's voice epitomises the damsel in distress trope, and takes away the mystery of any deep undertones the games could have possibly had. For me, the poor voice acting just throws cheese in the players face. I love Zelda, but I hope they make a sideline of Zelda games with no voice acting. This is just cheese.

Re: Soapbox: Nobody Does 'More Of The Same' Better Than Nintendo

@Varkster Valve made Half-Life right? I've never played a Valve game. Didn't know they were known as innovators.

But yeah, Nintendo changes things up with their sequels more than most other devs I think. It's part of the reason we get so excited about new Nintendo games. I remember the hype around Twiight Princess (which wasn't that innovative but still great) and Super Mario Galaxy (which actually somehow managed to be innovative and a better game than Super Mario 64 imo).

The thing is, for me, that we've waited 5+ years for Tears of the Kingdom, and it just looks like DLC. When have Nintendo ever reused the same overworld? You could argue that Link Between Worlds did, and although that was a great game, There's nothing in Tears of the Kingdom (that we've been shown so far) that seems that captivating. For me, reusing the same world is an immediate buzz kill.

I feel like Nintendo might doing this on purpose for some reason or another. They're clever with their IP and I'm not saying the game is gna do poorly commercially or critically but something about this lead up that just seem off.

Re: Soapbox: Nobody Does 'More Of The Same' Better Than Nintendo

BongoBongo123

I don't agree with this article. Nintendo are known as innovators and are the developer that can change things up better than anyone else. Look at Super Mario World - Super Mario 64 - Galaxy, Zelda Ocarina - Majora's Mask - Breath of the Wild, Gamecube - Wii (Wii Sports), Game Boy - DS.

It's just an excuse to say that Nintendo does more of the same better than anyone else to soften the blow of how boring and samey Tears of the Kingdom looks.

Companies that more of the same well are the original Crash, Spyro creators, original Tomb Raider creators etc.

Nintendo have NEVER been known as a more of the same developer.

Re: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Trailer Gets Creative With Vehicle Building, Fused Weapons

BongoBongo123

Honestly I'm really disappointed and am hoping they release a sub-series that doesn't get so much attention and is niche, edgy, and more traditional. Then I'll stick to that and the majority can have fun with Zelda: Nuts and Bolts.

Although, saying that, of course I'll pick up this game and it'll probably win me over after one hour.

In fact, just as I'm writing this I'm getting hyped for it as it releases in less than 8 weeks!

Re: Hands On: The Lord Of The Rings: Gollum Plays Like Small Taters

BongoBongo123

@Mana_Knight I thought TTT on Gamecube was slightly better. I dno why, maybe because the camera angles were closer to the action and made it seem more personal and intimate. At the time the graphics and animations of The Two Towers on Gamecube/Xbox/PS2 were some of most impressive for a videogame up to that point. Defo one of my favourite games of all time, despite the sometimes repetitive hack 'n' slash action.

Re: Poll: What Are Your Hype Levels for Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?

BongoBongo123

The six-year wait has killed my buzz for this tbh. When the first teaser for it was released, then yeah I was hyped. But the game uses the same models and engine as BOTW. Why have they taken so long? Nintendo hasn't even released a real original Zelda in the 4+ years that we've been anticipating this. There's been so little for me this generation (although I'll admit there's been more to play than on Wii U).

Re: "Lost" Game Boy Color RPG Infinity Adds Switch Port Stretch Goal On Kickstarter

BongoBongo123

I found the rom for this and am about to start playing it on a R4 card. I can't find the rom for Dragonborne anywhere. I know that I should buy it, but I honestly don't have the money to do that at the moment. I want to play Dragonborne more than Infinity because it looks like more of a classic RPG. Although both look great. It's cool that the GBC is getting these really ambitious projects 20 years after the console launched. Speaking of ambitious titles, I'm playing Crystalis for the first time on GBC and am impressed with it's simple, yet epic story.

Re: Soapbox: 3DS' Boundless Creativity Got Me, And Nintendo, Through Some Tough Times

BongoBongo123

@kereke12 This brings up the question of emulation and hacking. I haven't hacked either my 3ds or my original wii because I have games legitimately downloaded on them that mean too much to me to risk bricking the console. However, I don't really feel the need to anyway because there's not much else I want to play. I do think that it's a shame that Nintendo is closing the 3DS eshop though, it means that in months and years to come we won't have the option to buy and playthrough cool titles that we've heard about from people.
