Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 25th Holiday Special)

I just beat the elite four on Pokemon Red (Blue is my go to, and was the version I had as a kid) where I glitched a legit Mew so I'm proud of that file.

Was debating one of the discounted games on 3ds but nothing jumped out at me so I just started a new file on Ocarina 3D. I'v run out of ideas of what special runs I should do. I've done master quest and 3 heart challenge (even on the original on Wii, I can tell you so many differences between the original and remake).

Re: Video: The Best RPG Ever Made Still Isn't On Switch

BongoBongo123

I never played Chrono Trigger as a child yet I'd put it up there with ocarina of time as one the best experiences videogames can offer. In terms of rpgs, nothing comes close.

The undertones are deep. Games like Chrono Trigger are the reason I play videogames.

People are moaning about the game? Let them. I actually want the game to stay niche. Plus I just found the Japanese ds version has english language support. It's so much cheaper than the EU or US here in the UK.

The original wii's virtual console will never be beaten and was an absolute treasure trove of retro classics.

Right now my wii is connected to my tv and I use a hdmi converter to play. It's annoying some of my games don't display such as Sonic the Hedgehog and Golden Axe but I know that's only temporary since it's a problem with the hdmi converter (if anyone knows how to fix it please let me know!)

It's so sad the virtual console service ended.

I have both N64 Zeldas, Mario Kart 64, Street Fighter 2, Secret of Mana, Zelda: lttp, Super Metroid, Sin and Punishment, Sonic the Hedgehog, Golden Axe and Zelda Nes. Missing a few games like Chrono Trigger but it's such a good collection even as it is.

Street Fighter 2: The Final Challengers on Switch. Such an underrated game. Starting to compulsively play Street Fighter 2 on multiple platforms. Really want to play one of the spin offs like Marvel vs Capcom.

Zelda: Twilight Princess on wii. Still have my save from 2007 where I have clocked 98 hours and almost 100% the game. But what I've been doing this weekend is getting through the frustrating goron mines. That part of the game is such a slog. Through it now. Want to get up to the abandoned mansion dungeon. That is a great dungeon.

@jemil1992 Sounds good. I heard the lighting is slightly different. Grezzo usually do a great job of 3ds remakes.

I only have a regular 3ds so I'm lucky it wasn't a 'new' 3ds title.

Have played the second one but never finished it. I did finish the original on Gamecube though. The series doesn't appeal to me anymore but I'd still go back and play a remake of the original.

Re: Poll: N64 And Sega Genesis Nintendo Switch Online Games Launch Today - Which Will You Play First?

BongoBongo123

@Tyranexx Ah I see. Must have been good to have finally played the N64 Zeldas. 3ds is such a treasure trove of old games. The pokemon and dragon quest games have so many entries. And backwards compatibility is such a plus. Pick up Chrono Trigger if you can find it anywhere, I played that for the first time as an adult and it still left a massive impression on me.

Same about the Majora's Mask direct! And the game came out the following March, it was so quick. Probably the most I'd been excited for a game since Twilight Princess on Gamecube and until Breath of the Wild.

Re: Poll: N64 And Sega Genesis Nintendo Switch Online Games Launch Today - Which Will You Play First?

BongoBongo123

@Tyranexx Yeah, same. The best versions of the N64's Zeldas are on 3ds. They're improved in so many ways. I know Majora's Mask is a contentious issue but I much prefer the accessibility of the 3ds version. It's my favourite 3ds game. And the European Special Edition is beautiful. I've put over 500 hours into both those titles on my original 3ds.

Shout out to Golden Axe as well, great game. If SEGA still own the ip they should give it a rough, medieval feeling remake. With dragons.

In terms of this Expansion Service, the main thing that is edging me towards not getting it is that we won't actually own the games. All our saves will be gone when the Switch eventually dies.

I'm almost halfway through my marathon of N64 Zelda titles on 3ds (most beautiful, artistic, inspiring games on the system in my opinion). Also, linked to this debating doing a Majora's Mask 3 heart run, but the side quests are what make that experience so don't know if it's worth it. Or I could try an 100% the ocarina of time 3d file I have where I'm missing like 3 heart pieces, but it will be a mission working out which ones I'm missing? May as well start by getting the ice arrows .

Also, can I write some Nintendo related articles for you guys?

Here's an article I wrote:

Re: UK Newspaper Comes Under Fire For Hinting That Video Games Are "The Next Global Pandemic"

This really pisses me off. I don't think mainstream English media have a right to write about videogames, even the BBC. They are the enemy tbh. This is our medium, and these greasy snakes have no right to comment, whether positively or negatively.

Like when the BBC posts mario or zelda articles, they have no right. I actually want it to remain a subculture. Don't let these totalitarian liars and manipulators go near videogames. Especially Nintendo.
