Are the Xenblade games considered difficult? I've picked up the original for Wii and was really enjoying the story until the first compulsory fight which I can't be bothered to put the work in to beat so I've just left it. Is this a common experience?
@munstahunta You're right, BOTW 2 is literally the only game thats coming out that I actually really want on Switch. Imo I dont really like the Switch. Smash, BOTW, Ultra Street Fighter 2, are the only 'big' games I've actually cared about, and there's so much shovelware on the eshop that it just puts me off buying anything. Plus my Switch has had problems since day one. And to top it all off the Switch online subscription service is an absolute piss take joke. I play my Wii much, much more than I play Switch. And I've just picked up the full collection of project rainfall. The 3ds and Wii is what I play. My Switch will gather dust until BOTW2.
I've replayed wind waker and twilight princess recently (although I only finished wind waker, I'm stuck in the water temple in twilight princess and really can't be asked to put the effort in) and I own them on gamecube an wii respectively.
Everyone is expecting those two to be released on Switch and to be honest Id much rather an Ocarina of Time HD remake. Or...a completely new Zelda game which I think could actually be a possibility.
That is unless they release wind waker and twilight princess as a double pack and put in some worthwhile extras like achievements, new modes, artwork, music player etc.
I don't like lego games because I have found the combat simple, and flawed and also the building gameplay loop is just boring for me. Does the skywalker saga change the gameplay up enough for it actually to be fun?
There hasn't been an original Zelda game in 5 years....cmon Nintendo, I'd even have taken a third hero of time on 3ds but no...nothing.....Links awakening which is no where near as good as link between worlds in my opinion and Skyward Sword which is almost broken.
@EVIL-C Really wish this was the case too. I have some stone cold classics on my Wii. Just need to download Chrono Trigger, F-Zero X, and maybe some obscure Megadrive rpg.
@ModdedInkling That's great, and I understand (maybe not the technicalities of it being built from sctratch for the pc) but I disagree with you that we won't get a hd remake or remaster. Nintendo has remastered ever 3d Zelda game at this point, and Grezzo must be working on something. I think we will at least see a 3d remaster or even full remake of ocarina of time within the next five years.
I grew up with this. It's an absolute banger. One of the best games of the n64. So fast. Me and my brother unlocked every car back on the n64. Too bad it's on a service that isn't worth the money since I can emulate this on my £50 android phone and use an 8bitdo controller.
@LUIGITORNADO I think the design and flow of the N64 games are better. Twilight Princess is so slow. Wind Waker has a great first half but the second half isn't as good imo.
My dock has never worked. I have charging problems. The joy cons drift like crazy. I use it only in tabletop mode with an 8bitdo controller. Still....great console and have put 1000's of hours into it. Have to say though, my day 1 3ds has had less problems over double the lifespan.
@somebread Yeah it did. Was really similar from what I heard just with better graphics. Both of those will be gone forever I think unless they got a mobile release or something.
Undead Storm was my first Dsiware game. It was fun to mindlessly splat zombies during the period when the 3ds was having a software drought although the graphics were pretty poor.
Soul of Darkness was good as well, probably the best gameloft game I've played.
Fresh playthrough of Majora's Mask 3D for me. Vastly superior to the original releasing on Nintendo online. I actually own the game and Nintendo can't rip the rug from under that fact at some point like they can do with the Netflix type subscription plan they are currently adopting.
I'v also almost finished a playthrough of Ocarina of Time on Wii, have done the three heart challenge already so am trying to do a playthrough with zero deaths now. Speaking of the original Ocarina of Time it is so much harder that the great 3DS remake. The bow is much harder to use, plus many other quality of life improvements in the 3DS version. The 3DS version is definitely superior and once you beat the game you unlock Master Quest plus it has the boss rush mode. I've done the gauntlet in boss rush on both the regular game and Master Quest.
I'm glad the 3DS is getting some attention at the moment. It's my favourite of all time. Games I want to download before the eshop closes include both Dragon Quest games, Bravely Default, Paper Mario: Sticker Star and Final Fantasy Explorers. I'm not a rpg guy but I've heard so many good things about the above. Which is more accessible for a newcomer from the rpgs I've mentioned?
That's a lot of legacy content that's going. Nintendo might have some new hardware or collection line to announce soon I think. I don't think we appreciated it how good we had it with the wii virtual console back in 2008.
I don't want to play games on a streaming service. I'd like to own the games, whether physical or digital so I have my saves.
This has happened before though. In the ps2 era I bought a Gamecube for Zelda and Mario but knew I'd be missing out on Shadow of the Colossus and Halo who were owned by Sony and Microsoft respectively.
Now it seems there are bigger and fewer games than back in 2004, and to be honest I'm completely losing sight of Sony and Microsoft because I only play Nintendo platforms (not as a rule, it's just that the software they produce is higher quality imo).
I think that no matter what Nintendo will survive.
Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition and Secret of Mana (VC). First time I've played Secret of Mana (even though I've had it downloaded for years) and am slowly chipping away at it. The soundtrack is awesome.

Re: Rumour: Could Switch Get Zelda: Wind Waker And Twilight Princess This Year?
I own both of these games on Gamecube and Wii respectively.
So many remasters and remakes. I hope Nintendo surprise us and pull out an ORIGINAL Zelda game for this year...It is possible.

From some reason the only metroidvanias that I like use either pixel art or 2.5 D graphics.

@Royalblues
Why? What's your issue with Zelda games?

New Super Mario Bros 2 on 3DS and Xenoblade Chonicles on Wii. First playthroughs on both for me.

HaHa I'm from the UK and love that people here have such a bad taste in videogames.
I do not want the messages in some (Capcom, Nintendo, Square Enix) to become mainstream. ***** them.
Re: UK Charts: Kirby And The Forgotten Land Gobbles Up The Top Spot
Zelda BOTW sequel will take the christmas top spot this year in the uk im hoping.
Re: Rumour: A New Zelda: BOTW 2 Name Is Gaining Traction Online...
maybe 'Air of Duality' would be better.
Re: Rumour: A New Zelda: BOTW 2 Name Is Gaining Traction Online...
That's a terrible name...when have nintendo ever used the same thematic words in their zelda titles more than once.
Re: Talking Point: 3DS Is 11 Years Old, And Our Eyes Still Feel Strange
@mr12calvin Same...so much Zelda and Pokemon made it the best handheld, with the best library, of any machine I've owned.

Best version of Shovel Knight...Also best version of Shantae and the Pirates Curse!

@ModdedInkling True, that would be cool to see. A re-imagining of Phantom Hourglass or Spirit Tracks would be really interesting too I think.

@Medic_Alert
The 3DS Majora's Mask version is way more accessible imo and the quality of life improvements are great.
Both are great games and the portable versions were great updates. I hope a HD version of both games will come to Switch at some point.
