Re: Video: What Legend Of Zelda Games Can We Expect To Fill The Gap In 2022?

@munstahunta You're right, BOTW 2 is literally the only game thats coming out that I actually really want on Switch. Imo I dont really like the Switch. Smash, BOTW, Ultra Street Fighter 2, are the only 'big' games I've actually cared about, and there's so much shovelware on the eshop that it just puts me off buying anything. Plus my Switch has had problems since day one. And to top it all off the Switch online subscription service is an absolute piss take joke. I play my Wii much, much more than I play Switch. And I've just picked up the full collection of project rainfall. The 3ds and Wii is what I play. My Switch will gather dust until BOTW2.

I've replayed wind waker and twilight princess recently (although I only finished wind waker, I'm stuck in the water temple in twilight princess and really can't be asked to put the effort in) and I own them on gamecube an wii respectively.

Everyone is expecting those two to be released on Switch and to be honest Id much rather an Ocarina of Time HD remake. Or...a completely new Zelda game which I think could actually be a possibility.

That is unless they release wind waker and twilight princess as a double pack and put in some worthwhile extras like achievements, new modes, artwork, music player etc.

@ModdedInkling That's great, and I understand (maybe not the technicalities of it being built from sctratch for the pc) but I disagree with you that we won't get a hd remake or remaster. Nintendo has remastered ever 3d Zelda game at this point, and Grezzo must be working on something. I think we will at least see a 3d remaster or even full remake of ocarina of time within the next five years.

Fresh playthrough of Majora's Mask 3D for me. Vastly superior to the original releasing on Nintendo online. I actually own the game and Nintendo can't rip the rug from under that fact at some point like they can do with the Netflix type subscription plan they are currently adopting.

I'v also almost finished a playthrough of Ocarina of Time on Wii, have done the three heart challenge already so am trying to do a playthrough with zero deaths now. Speaking of the original Ocarina of Time it is so much harder that the great 3DS remake. The bow is much harder to use, plus many other quality of life improvements in the 3DS version. The 3DS version is definitely superior and once you beat the game you unlock Master Quest plus it has the boss rush mode. I've done the gauntlet in boss rush on both the regular game and Master Quest.

I'm glad the 3DS is getting some attention at the moment. It's my favourite of all time. Games I want to download before the eshop closes include both Dragon Quest games, Bravely Default, Paper Mario: Sticker Star and Final Fantasy Explorers. I'm not a rpg guy but I've heard so many good things about the above. Which is more accessible for a newcomer from the rpgs I've mentioned?

Great article.

This has happened before though. In the ps2 era I bought a Gamecube for Zelda and Mario but knew I'd be missing out on Shadow of the Colossus and Halo who were owned by Sony and Microsoft respectively.

Now it seems there are bigger and fewer games than back in 2004, and to be honest I'm completely losing sight of Sony and Microsoft because I only play Nintendo platforms (not as a rule, it's just that the software they produce is higher quality imo).

I think that no matter what Nintendo will survive.
