Think of all the big games that have come to the Switch so far – there's Rocket League, Fortnite and more recently we even got Overwatch. One game, though, that's not made the transition across to Nintendo's hybrid device yet is the original battle royale game, Player Unknown's Battlegrounds (commonly abbreviated as PUBG).
As there's no sign of this game appearing on the Switch anytime soon, the Chinese developer NetEase has now stepped in to release its own free-to-play battle royale title, Knives Out. It's actually a mobile port and features microtransactions. If you have access to a Japanese Switch eShop account, you can download it right now.
Below are some in-game shots, captured by Twitter user @leighwynne33:
Knives Out is essentially the same as PUBG – requiring you and your team fight to be the last ones standing in a 100 player battlezone. In order to win, you'll have to find weapons, ammo and gear, while driving vehicles and making sure you stay within the safe zone.
Have you been wanting to play PUBG or at least a game like it on the Switch? Do you prefer Fortnite? Tell us below.

Wow, it really checks all those boxes...
At least they priced it right.
I mean, that's what I want Pubg to do. Just port there mobile game (as free to play)..... So I guess I'll play this instead.
I hope this hits the US shop. I really want PUBG on the Switch.
If you're gonna port mobile games to Switch, at least port Call of Duty Mobile. That's a somewhat good mobile game at least.
You can call it a clone if you like, but it's WAY WAY WAY more popular in Japan than PUBG
I think H1Z1 was the first stand alone battle royale game (tho technically DayZ/Arma 3 mods made by Brendan Greene, prompted Daybreak to do that). PUBG was Greenes first full attempt (and full stand alone).
