There seems to be an awful lot of hype, excitement, anger, hatred, passion, disgust, and just about every emotion under the sun doing the rounds on the internet at the moment, and it all seems to be to do with a new film that's just released. Let us just check our notes here - ah, yep - something about a star war? No idea.
Yes, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is out now and everyone and their dog are talking about it, which makes it the perfect time for Warner Bros. to dish out a new trailer for the upcoming Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. The game is set to feature content based on all nine of the series' feature films and could well be a super treat for hardcore fans.
You can check it out for yourself above. It starts with an admittedly epic tease of all nine films in LEGO form before confirming that the promised 2020 release window is still intact. We sure hope it turns out to be good, because God help everyone involved if it doesn't.
The original announcement trailer came back in June this year:
Do you have high hopes for this one? Do you need another place to vent your feelings about the new film? Either way, our comment box is waiting for you below.

I hope people enjoy the movie but I've got no interest in it
And probably better then Episode 9.
Pardon Episope 9.
I watch Ashens.
Cannot wait for this one. I wonder if they’ll have any remastered levels from the old games or if it’ll be all new. It would be really cool if a pre order bonus of the original collection was included
Intrigued but I should know better. I love the humor in the Star Wars games and the premise of all 9 films is great. But the standard LEGO mini-mission gameplay is not something that holds my attention.
I love the Lego Star Wars games. They’re the best Lego games imo. Can’t wait for this one. It looks like a total blast.
"the skywalker saga" is a pretty good name too.
Always enjoyable games anyway
I am currently replaying Lego Star Wars II rather coincidentially.
On an imac
In OS X .
With a ps3 controller.
Using the 8bitdo bluetooth adapter.
it works fine against all odds.
The original games are brilliant so hopefully this is fun. Even with the inclusion of certain terrible movies. Hey, Lego made the prequels work so they can do anything.
A lot less interested now that I know the characters are voiced. My favorite part of the original Lego Star Wars games was that they completely lacked dialogue, but still completely conveyed the full story of the first six movies. I suppose I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up after Lego Lord of the Rings just threw in voice lines from the movies entirely out of order.
Even if you don't play lego games I still recommend is because they have humor and funny differences than the actual movie and they give pretty good gameplay so it's enjoyable however you look at it.
Watched the new movie yesterday and loved it, looking forward to this, and I hope they include an open world hub area.
@Sean161
Apparently the whole things is new using a new engine with more force powers.
It could have a remake of the original 2 or be all new.
@johnvboy
Apparently it does and you can freely choose where to begin.
Machette order for me then.
@KitsuneNight,
Good, I was hoping for something like the Lego villains game where there was different areas to explore, with all the locations in the Star Wars universe this could be pretty cool.
@kenyowa the scene with obiwan using the jedi mind trick on the storm trooper, but without words, in the first game still gets a chuckle put of me.
Amazing can’t wait. Liked the old ones without voices but I can’t get on board... will be good and so many cool characters to unlock. Hope season pass is Rogue one and Solo
Boy this reminds me of why the original trilogy was so good.
I miss that family-friendly inspirational approach that led to so much awesome.
The Rise of Skywalker was such a disappointing and soulless way to end this saga of films that I hope LEGO can inject some of their trademark humor and charm to make playing through that messy plot much more enjoyable
I'm also glad there's an option to disable voiced dialogue and just have the characters grunt and emote visibly like they used to
This is coming from someone who actually thought The Last Jedi was great (Poe and Finn subplots not withstanding)
@kenyowa Aw man, I didn't even twig that there were voices. The miming in these and Harry Potter were hilarious.
Saw the new one last night and enjoyed it, taking the kids to see it tonight. Looking forward to playing this as well!!!
@BlueBlur101 I haven't heard of this setting, is it listed on their website or something? This will honestly make my week
I wish they could do a Lego Star Wars but in the style of Lego City Undercover.
The original Lego Star Wars was what got me interested in Star Wars, and I've loved the first three games (the original, The Original Trilogy, and especially The Complete Saga) since. While i don't have the highest hopes for the newest film, I'm still picking this new game up. Lego games are usually pretty fun and hilarious.
I'd still say my favorite cutscene was when Vader was telling Luke he was his father by using a Polaroid.
I'm a "maybe" on this one, but it looks fun.
Kinda wish it wasn't voice acted. The games got far less creative with telling their stories once they just dubbed it over with the movie voices.
Still hope it'll at least be a fun game, and maybe we'll get DLC for Clone Wars, Rebels, Solo, Rogue One and Mandalorian down the line to make it feel even more complete.
@Kalmaro If that’s the case, seems strange to have bothered not only coming to this article to read it, but then commenting on it as well.. just to say you don’t care about it. Weird.
@FTL Not really, I still like starwars and the lego starwars games
EP is an awesome finale. It's just the fancy critics and hardcore fanboys that dislike it, because it didn't go the way they thought it would. And I can see this game becoming my GOTY. Cannot wait.
@MattyHammo I’m not a hardcore fan or a critic. I went in excited and had genuinely enjoyed all the other new movies, but my Lord this one was a disaster from start to finish.
@Brady1138 what made you dislike it so much? In my opinion i found it entertaining the whole way through. A few surprises thrown in and plenty of nostalgia for us older fans, i think JJ Abrams did the best he could with what was left after The Last Jedi.
See i came out confused after the midnight premiere of The Last Jedi. I wasn't sure if i had liked it. It had it's moments but it was just a mess, a cut and paste of random events, as if they ran out of time and spent the final hours trying to make a watchable film. After a few repeat viewings i did begin to like it, but i consider it one of the weakest Star Wars films. Only EP1 & EP2 are worse IMO.
Anyway, i can't wait for the game next year. Since watching EP9 i'm wanting to replay LEGO The Force Awakens.
I am very excited to check this one out when it drops, but I have some concerns about the amount of content. Surely if they managed a full Lego game just using Force Awakens a few years back, a pack that contains the whole 9 film series is going to be seriously cut back in comparison. Then again, if they show the same amount of care to the individual movies in the same way that Lego Harry Potter did, I will be satisfied.
But there are only two Stars Wars movies...
All 9 films? I'm pretty sure there's only 6.
