The Metroid: Samus Returns Legacy Edition is Up for Pre-Order on the Official Nintendo UK Store

Done and dusted with both amiibos.

Gutted when I learnt about missing it from GAME yesterday; thankfully was short lived.

You bet your behind I did.

Got it with the Amiibos. It was up on GAME yesterday as well.

That "Gameboy cart style" case looks horrendously disproportionate...

Ordered this with the two amiibos. Would've been nice if it came with the T-shirt too like the normal version.

NoA sucks! I want this!

Managed to get one there after trying yesterday with GAME, only got a response from them a little while ago saying the error message that popped up after I'd all but paid was due to it being out of stock but it was still listed as available at the time.

@Spoony_Tech That pretty much describes NoA for the past 4 or so years. NoE offering better special editions, better prices and of course while it existed a better Club Nintendo.

Ordered it two weeks ago when it appeared for preorder on Finnish websites. The Legacy Edition is simply fantastic.

I managed to pre-order the legacy edition along with both amiibo . Somehow, it feels too good to be true...

I wanted this so bad, but it's hard to import, and GAME wouldn't let me check out. Was set to international shipping but gave an error at the final purchase screen

Ordered. Thanks for the heads up. So who is better for pre-orders, Game or Nintendo Store UK?

I want to pre-order it so bad, but too pricey for an NA purchase.

Guh! Why Nintendoooo!!

@JaxonH
Scalpers have got your back man.

Nintendo keeps amazing me with cool products and events that aren't available to all their customers. Is happy day today.

@Grumblevolcano Well at least I got my Master Sword for BotW. I don't think EU got that. Take what I can get I guess.

Just ordered, along with the 2 Amiibos.

I want it, but I'm in the US so I can't have it. WOO! MURICA! 🤠😒

Thanks Nintendolife. Got it and the 2 Amiibo after missing out on the Game pre-order.

Not gonna bother even trying with Game for preorders like this anymore. Wouldn't be so bad if they said out of stock but they keep showing products as available until you go through the process of paying. Seems Game's way of telling you preorders have been fulfilled is by saying your payment failed while still letting you add it to the basket. Game still still show the Metroid Amiibo available until you try to pay for them !!!! ( at £14.99 each !!! )

At least I got this and the 2 Amiibo from Nintendo UK and the SNES Mini from Smyth's preordered.

Out of stock now!

Pre-ordered all three.

Thank god. Been monitoring my email like a hawk for this since the mini SNES debacle.

Christ I've been checking daily for it and they are all gone now!!!

I was checking my emails when it came through. I got them all preordered, yay.

all gone so no issue about getting it now lol

Missed the pre-order but seeing as I've never even looked at the tat in the Fire Emblem Echoes limited edition, I'm not going to worry. Would like to pre-order the Axiom Verge limited edition when ever that's about though.

Missed it by 10 mins arghhhhhhh

I just missed it. WHY DIDN'T I CHECK MY PHONE 30 MINUTES AGO!?

Interesting, the Fire Emblem Echoes Edition you can still buy, so they may get some back in stock: https://store.nintendo.co.uk/games-3ds/fire-emblem-echoes-shadows-of-valentia-limited-edition/11429812.html?widget_id=584100

@Kid_Sickarus Nintendo Store by far. Usually offer more/better bonuses, and almost never mess up orders unlike GAME who do it on the reg. GAME generally have insultingly high prices on the vast majority of their stock too, both online and in-store.

I missed it too 😫

@AlanJones84 Well I feel somewhat vindicated. I do have all that and use the carrying case all the time.

@Fooligan I am sure something will be retailer exclusive over in the Americas eventually that Europeans are not able to purchase.

@Markiemania95 guess I know which to cancel now then. Thanks!

I pre-ordered the comparatively lame NA version of the special edition along with the amiibo set.

Mine on pre order now can't wait !

Didn't have access since I'm in America. I had the chance to purchase our special edition, but I wasn't really interested in the soundtrack, and it seemed that GameStop had it, and Amazon didn't. I want this game on release day, dang it! Don't care too much about extra stuff, I just need my Metroid!

Got one at GAME yesterday. As of today they still have the amiibo available so picked up them too.
Wait for it to all be cancelled, i guess. Not that I'm cynical

@Yorumi and the key ring. Don't forget the key ring!

The box art looks awesome! Can't wait for this game

so glad i got mine

What time did it go live? I got an email from Nintendo at 16:02 and when I noticed it some 20 later they had all sold out #gutted

And it's gone. It's all gone...

Looks nice

Got both amiibos, game and t-shirt aaannnddd the legacy edition oh yeah that's right!!!

I am annoyed that they never have enough mind... Should make like 3 million of them lol

Getting seriously annoyed by Nintendo funding scalpers and counterfeit Chinese merchants on eBay.

Just shocking disregard for real fans who deserve better treatment.

metroid amiibo is up on shopto btw

Aww lucky UKers! That's such a nice Special Edition.

The game is enough for me.

Not gonna lie, getting awfully sick of not being able to preorder anything recently, be it amiibos (smash and zelda) or special editions such as this game.

Does make me question why I even bother with Nintendo at times...

@MS7000
I got lucky this time but I totally agree with you.

People complainig about not enough stock for a limited edition? WHAT??

@Ensemen It's no surprise to anyone. Just getting old is all. The more it happens the more resentment grows and the higher the possibility that people look to other means of consumable entertainment. Or they look to competitors that don't run so many short-supply promotions concerning beloved franchises.

@MS7000 Agreed. They really do seem to be getting worse at this practice over time. I attempted to collect Amiibos very early on but stopped quickly (after wave 2 I think) when it was apparent that they were going to pull this uber-short supply nonsense as a general rule in managing that product line. I just don't play the game anymore - not going to get attached to that product family.

I remember when you could go up to Gamestop and pre-order a premium or deluxe edition of pretty much anything with ease. The only constraint is that they had to close orders on a certain date (for the retailer to submit final orders). Back then, the only time you missed out is when you were dumb enough to not pre-order. Now, if you don't pre-order within literally minutes you have missed the boat. I'm too old for that nonsense anymore. But it does leave a bad taste in my mouth for the brand. As a consequence, I have recently found other avenues for entertainment that are not as compulsive and, as a result, Nintendo has gotten probably less than half (or more than) of what I used to spend on them each year.

Darn only just read the article really wanted this too. I don't understand why Nintendo don't just leave pre-orders open then produce the amount that's been ordered. At least I managed to snag 2 Snes Minis I suppose.

so, this was a Nintendo UK store exclusive then ?

NIntendo, for the love of everything that's holy, please stop with the shortages!

Consumers like me/us have to pay more. and not even from scalpers!
National stores are jacking up their prices, and the only thing I can do "to protest" is to not buy it.

Hahaha when you actually brexit you wont be in eu anymore and no more special editions hahahhaha.

Then youll know how australia feels for missing out in this just like the us.

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/302381607802

I suggest everyone bombards the seller with £1 offer.

@Jayenkai
looks more like a virtual boy cart

@AcesHigh Yeah but isn't that the thing about limited editions? That they are.. limited? I mean if the normal edition was hard to get i would get the outcry, but this?

Man I love the steelbook GameBoy cart, brings back memories. I haven't played my 3DS for almost a year but I think I will again when this game comes out!

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd as soon as you read the article its sold out!

Why does the official US Nintendo store never carry this kind of thing? I always just figured it was because Nintendo likes America less, a conclusion I came to looking at the Japanese vs American Club Nintendo physical goodies . And we're still waiting for Mother 3.

I got one 😁 I want the tee shirt as well seems silly not being able to get that with the legacy edition ☹️ Missed out on the amiibo though 😢

@Sean161 thats exactly what my brother did, just like your said & they were all gone within space of hour hour, he clicked the link from the email pre-order only to be greeted with the most disheartening message of out of stock

@Sean161 That's the thing- I am signed up for Nintendo UK store, but never receive any alerts within a decent time regarding preorders etc. Maybe my settings are wrong or something?

Got mine, missed out on GAME site.

Got it! Pre-ordered it at gamemania. You can't pre-order it from their website but that's likely the only reason I'm getting a copy

Why does it feel like Nintendo only produce 5 of everything?

Seriously? This special edition actually looks like a special edition, instead of what NOA gave us.

@datamonkey such an original complaint. Did you think of that all by yourself? The amiibo were in stock for about 30 minutes the Legacy edition for about 40 minutes, and everyone who is signed up for email alerts got the same message. They had a lot in stock. Just because you didn't jump on the preorder like the many others did doesnt mean "Nintendo only made X of these".

@sean161 I am!! I'm just not glued to my phone 24/7

@Trikeboy Yes I did make that up all by myself. Is that ok by you that I have an opinion of my own? If it happens to mirror what others are saying then maybe there's some truth to it?

If they are so good with stock and logistics then why do we see stock problem articles with so many of their products? I'm sure a lot of people did get lucky. I'm not saying they didn't. My point was a lot more were unlucky.

Don't you think it's a legitimate statement? Or do you just blindly defend company's no matter what the situation as you're too blinkered to think for yourself?

Gutted that I missed out on this preorder, but if anyone would be willing to do straight swap of their legacy edition for my preordered snes mini then please let me know.

@Miketeevee76 Did you ever get sorted with that?
