Determined fans are always looking to uncover hidden information in video games, and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is no exception. One of the secret features in the game is Palutena's Guidance, which can be activated in Palutena's Temple as Pit by using his down taunt for a fraction of a second. Palatine will then discuss details about the character that Pit is facing.
There's one of these bonuses for every character, but there's also another one that you won't have heard in your game as it's hidden deep inside the game's data files. The audio appears to be a generic placeholder for characters that don't have any of their own audio for Palutena's Guidance, and as such will likely be used for Mewtwo when he's released in 2015, as well as any other characters that may or may not be programmed and released for the title.
The audio transcript is as follows:
Pit: Who is that?
Palutena: I have no data on this fighter, I can't believe it!
Viridi: It must be an intruder from another dimension.
Pit: Whoever it is, the goal remains the same; to fight and win!

Smells like Mewtwo
Mewtwo or maybe even more?!
Please just be Mewtwo. We don't need any more DLC locked characters... Well Mewtwo technically isn't DLC locked.
It's probably just for Mewtwo, but generic incase they decide to do more DLC.
Interesting...
Interesting indeed... to be continued
@blackbox64
Mewtwo isn't from another dimension, he is a science experiment.
The part about it being an intruder from another dimension doesn't really fit the description and lore of Mewtwo.
Sigh....so late
Sakurai said no DLC characters after Mewtwo.
@Alexolney Platen will then discuss details about the character that Pit is facing.
I can't help but notice you put "palatine" instead of Palutena.
Heh, how stock about that DLC character audio. Unless they plan to re-record some lines.
Sakurai probably just knows people will eventually start hacking more fighters into the game.
Might be a placeholder convo for other DLC characters or if any unexpected stuff happened. Not for just Mewtwo though, I'm fairly certain for that. The Kid Icarus crew know of Pokémon (well, Pit and Palutena do anyway).
Considering All Star mode, I think Mewtwo being the only DLC character seems very likely. Doesn't it seem a bit odd that the first 6 rounds have 7 characters but the finale has only 6?
Maybe it was an idea for Sonic and Mega Man, but then they decided to actually have her say something
A new Mario Paint remix was also found in the game. It's apparently going to be used in the Miiverse stage, which also contains other new songs like the Mii Plaza remix from the 3DS version.
Did you guys ever think that the intruder is a hacker from another dimension?
This is pretty interesting, but who is this Palatine?
MissingNo DLC character confirmed.
@Blast DLC doesnt mean content locked
Just because other companies do it wrong, doesnt mean all DLC is like that.
@Quorthon Sakurai never said that. He just said no current plans, but it's a possibility in the future.
Or this is a test stage for the guidance i don't understand why everyone is immediately jumping to DLC. This could also be Mewtwo's
They're not going to get all of the voice actors to come back and do the Palutena's guidance for every (or the single) DLC character. Yes, Pit, Palutena, and Viridi probably do know who Mewtwo is, but they decided to go with a generic one to keep an opening for other DLC characters.
@Blast And neither will any other characters be locked in the disc. so shhhhhh!
It's likely a generic placeholder for dlc so that they didn't have to keep getting the cast to get together and record new lines. Of course though they could have gotten it done ahead of time.
Gee palutena, if you don't have any material on mewtwo just use a pokedex
@Grumblevolcano Well, considering there are 48 characters in All-Star, it's not really that weird...
VERY Farfetched, but..Snake? Magalor? HOOPA? I don't know, just off the wall thoughts.
@PokeMarioR Pun intended?
@DefHalan Yeah, I didn't think they thought that maybe they were planning it for the third-parties. I would've been slightly irked by that though since it'd seem kind of lazy and (I'm being thinking in character here) Pit probably would've known Mega Man due to the 'NES days' and Sonic was in Brawl so he'd of seen him there.
@TheAceofMystery Wouldn't be funny if this was a built in comment that shows up every time you try to do Paluntena's Guidance if you pirate the game somehow?
mewtwo...and more
ICE CLIMBERS for WII U and a character from some portable game for 3DS (Only because the 3DS has hardware restrictions)

Bill Trinen coming to Smash confirmed
@nessisonett I thought of actually putting "Farfetch'd"
I think Mewtwo will get his own. This is probably an error trap in case someone hacks the game to play as Sandbag, Ridley, etc. to prevent the game from freezing if someone tries a guidance against them.
Pretty late on this one... I see no reason why they can't have the voice actors come back to record. The announcer already needs to come back, anyways! I understand having a placeholder for DLC characters but it feels slightly lazy.
If it's true that it's a placeholder, then that means we should see more DLC characters than just Mewtwo. This conversation makes no sense for him, so if they were only planning Mewtwo then they could easily record a more specific conversation for him — this one must be vague for the intention of multiple characters. (But again I don't expect any more than 4 DLC characters so I don't see why new audio can't be recorded later)
I'm still bummed that the (supposed) only DLC character we're getting is ANOTHER Pokemon character...
RIP Isaac. Not even his assist trophy made it.
@Quorthon
wrong, he said they are not planning paid DLC at the moment (several weeks ago) even though Mewtwo is technically a paid DLC
@Quorthon Nope they only said ''Currently no future DLC is being worked on'' This comment clearly states nothing is currently being worked on, but it says nothing about what the future will bring, anything can happen, and likely will.
Sounds like something the game would say when it doesn't know who the fighter is.
