Took a chance on Splatoon Raiders (I had a lot of fun with Splatoon 2 but never enjoyed the solo stuff). Anyway, Raiders is a bunch of fun! I really enjoy helping other players out and the gameplay loop is rock solid. Great game to just pick up and play some rounds every now and then.
Heres my two cents on how to improve mk world:
Grand Prix should be classic with regular laps (not driving from place to place, we got knock out for that).
The open world could have so much more content. Like shops to buy carts and costumes in, maps to show where collectibles are (or making it so you had to beat a grand prix to open the map to an area). Other awards than stamps. For example, gold bike or costumes for 100 peach coins etc.
Unlocking characters in other ways than Kamek because that way is broken now (you can just set up a mode with only kamek boxes).
Deciding costumes the same way as in smash bros and not the cluttered mess that is now.
Split screen in free roam.
Also, able to start races from free roam if you go to the starting lines.
I could go on but these are the first things that came to mind.
Switch 2 will do just fine. They still haven't pulled out mainline pokemon, 3d mario, 2d mario, spin off mario, mainline zelda, remake zeldas, dlcs for mk world, 2d dk, and monolith probably working on something too. Not to forget all the games they can drop switch 2 versions of (looking at you xenoblade 2) + 3rd party heavy hitters (fingers crossed for bg3 and clair obscure).
No matter how many handhelds on the market I will always keep a Switch. Nintendos catalog is too strong to ignore and I'm not the type to "steal" or "hack" games to make them work elsewhere than where they originally belong or have been released.
Switch: Really enjoying DQ11. A true GOAT type of game. I can't really explain it but it feels right to play now that Christmas is coming up. Maybe its the music. Xbox: I just finished the first Hellblade game for the second time. It still holds up great, despite the weak combat. The story is just too good to be ignored. I'm also close to finishing Fractured But Whole. PS5: I'm on my fifth playthrough of Stellar Blade on my quest to pick up the last costumes from the latest patch.
Switch: I picked up DQ11 on sale this week. I've played it before on Gamepass but considering how great that game is I just had to do another run. Also, sidequesting TotK.
Series X: Jumping between Hellblade and Fractured But Whole.
I was supposed to start Flight Sim 24 and Stalker 2 but with launch issues and bugs I have put them both on hold.
PS5: Stellar Blade, hunting down the NieR costumes before starting my 5th NG+. Yes, it's that good!
I hope the Switch 2 somehow will be able to play Xenoblade X. That game is too good to be left behind on the Wii U. As far as their next game, I hope its a sequel to Xenoblade X. Xenoblade 3 had one of, if not the best ending in a game I have ever played and I would hate for it to be tampered with. A sequel to Xenoblade 3 would be like Toy Story 4.
This weekend I'm playing the Metaphor demo. I loved Persona 5 so I'm definetly interested. Other than that I might do some sidequesting in Zelda TotK. Recently finished: I honestly finished this game and got the plat a long time ago but the other day I unlocked the last outfits in Stellar Blade. It's my GOTY for sure with its excellent combat, boss fights and soundtrack. Oh, and the game has been completely bug free since launch day. A high quality game indeed that I highly recommend if you like action games.
This weekend on PS5 I'm playing Astro Bot, Stellar Blade (only 3 suits left to find) and Alan Wake 2 ng+. I love how they integraded the DLC into the main story, very nice touch. On Xbox I'm doing some sidequests in Witcher 3. On the Switch I'm doing some sidequests in TotK. It's not often I'm jumping between all 3 consoles but when I do I absolutely love it.
@Maubari I think they will be fine as long as they call it Switch 2, Super Switch or Switch Advanced maybe. And make sure it is properly stated on the box that this is their next gen console.
I had a look at it. Looks like a bigger screen but skinnier switch which is great imo. Anybody want to figure out how much power it got? Does it match ps4 pro or series s?
Edit. Got the answers. Now I'm hyped. Wonder what it will cost... Hopefully a September reveal is incoming.
I just finished my third playthrough of Stellar Blade. Still missing a couple costumes, I'll have to look them up but I wont do another run yet. I'm stuck on BG3 and I can't be bothered to deal with it now. I did buy Forza 4 Ultimate so I might just do some races or something. I'm really looking forward to Dragon Age Veilguard. That will most likely be my next new game.
I'm about to complete my first run of BG3 on Xbox. I only have a couple quests to wrap up before I go to the final boss. It's been a fun journey. A couple months ago I was about to give up on the game because I thought it was sluggish and boring. But now I can barely put it down.
I've kind of decided to not buy anymore games for the Switch while I wait for Switch 2, however, if they have figured out a way to remake Xenoblade X I'm preordering ASAP.
PS5: Stellar Blade Bossrush mode and 3rd run to collect every outfit. I cant wait! Game is so good and I keep coming back even though I already platted it.
Recently finished: Hellblade 2. Incredible game. Really enjoyed all aspects off it except Senuas slow ass walking. Took me about 7hrs to finish without a guide. Will go back for the rest of the collectibles. Another GOTY contender for me.
Sidenote. I now wish a new Xenoblade game would drop this year so that I'd have one new "blade" exclusive game across my consoles fighting over GOTY. lol. Have a good weekend everybody.
Loved TotK. How they built on BotW and made an equally great if not greater experience is an incredible achievement to me. My favourite moments was finding all the tears and watching the cut scenes unfold. Finding the mastersword gave me goosebumps.
My Xbox and Switch will be collecting dust until Im done with Stellar Blade.
My first impressions so far: combat, music, graphics, design and skilltree are phenomenal. I especially love the bossbattles.
Story and VO is fine. Nothing special.
Some of the platforming sequences are annoying but its no dealbreaker.
Im playing completely blind and having a blast. Also love that the game got ng+ where everything carries over. Will be playing Stellar Blade A LOT.
3 books in 2 seasons. Lady of the lake is pretty long. And they're skipping the epilogue all together? No Cavill. Yeah. This will be a rushed mess. At least Netflix will actually finish a show they started so theres that.
PS5: This week I platted Helldivers 2 and Street Fighter 6. So theres obviously only one thing to do. Play Helldivers 2 and Street Fighter 6. That is until Stellar Blade comes out. Switch: Supermario Wonder (backlog work) XSX: Nothing
Sidenote. SF6 might be the best modern fighting game Ive ever played. Its just so smooth. And Ive been having a lot of fun playing Helldivers with friends and strangers. Even had some randoms willing to help me with some coop trophies.
Depends on the game but, short answer. Yes. I cant stand spoilers. Makes me either want to stop playing or finish it just because I bought it, and not because I care.
Recently finished TotK. What a game! How Nintendo managed to top BotW is mind blowing to me.
I also earned the platinum for Alan Wake 2 this week. Another incredible gem I highly recommend.
Having completed those two games means my GOTY run only got one game left and that's BG3 on Series X.
HOWEVER, I'm very tempted to buy Tekken 8 so yeah... And to make things even more "difficult" I also want to preorder FF7 Rebirth because I never played the DLC for the first one which comes free with the preorder. I also wouldn't mind trying TLOU2's Rouge mode. Decisions... decisions... Have a good weekend everybody.
It's -30c where I live so I'll be gaming a lot this weekend.
PS5: Alan Wake 2
Switch OLED: Zelda TotK
Series X: Baldur's Gate 3
Recently finished:
1. Super Mario Wonder
Such a fantastic and fun game. Played it coop with the missus. Had a great time. Many of the levels had a "wow" factor I found entertaining.
2. Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty
Unlocked all the endings and I must say, what a great game and DLC it is. Played Cyberpunk at release and hated it (even though I reached one ending) but now, the 2.0 version is another game completely and the DLC adds so much too it. I highly recommend this game even though it is a bit depressing.
I'm going hard on the gaming front this weekend and I love it.
PS5: Alan Wake 2 and GoWR Valhalla
Series X: Baldur's Gate 3
Switch Oled: TotK and Metroid Dread
One thing they really need to add then is a way to turn a child account into an adult account and add an email to said child account. When I contacted Nintendo about it they said its not possible. In short, dont by digital games with a child account.
All I know is if the Switch 2 isn't backwards compitable I might skip that generation as a whole, or wait til there's like 10 exclusives on it that I must play.
Switch: I beat the story in Xenoblade 3 Future Redeemed so now Im just gonna roam and do some sidequests and whatnot. Great DLC for a great game. Highly recommend, all 3 of them tbh (and X if you own a Wii U). PS5: Nothing Series: Ghostwire: Tokyo and Halo.
Switch: Xenoblade 3 Future Redeemed. It is sooo good! 10/10. Perfect. Seriously. PS5: Nothing, obviously. Series S: See PS5. Uncle Rex got my full attention.
Switch: This is so random but I've started Fire Emblem Three Houses again (this will be my fifth playthrough). Feels good to be back! I needed something relaxing to balance out the stress of Metroid Dread.
Series S: Forza Horizon 5 and Halo Infinite online. I can't wait for the campaign to drop next week. I'll also try to squeeze in som Tales of Arise.
PS5: I'll be earning the platinum for Death Stranding DC this weekend. I only have a few story missions left 💪
@Kidfunkadelic83 I picked up the series s last year for the exact same purpose as you and this last year alone Ive played to a finish more games than I ever bough and played on ps3-5 and the wii u and switch combined. And theres a whole bunch of more games Ive checked out but didnt fall for.
I know this is a nintendo site but since the article is xbox related Im just gonna say it. Gamepass is awesome for expanding my gaming horizon and finding games I probably wouldnt have bought and thus missed out on.
Dont worry, I also love my Switch and PS5. I use those strictly for exclusives now. Xbox for everything else on top of their own exclusives.
This is such a weird practice. In contrast, in the music business if somebody in the studio suggests just one word that end up in the final lyrics, they will get writing credits for it.
