I bought the digital generation pack, that makes 33€ per game which is a pretty good deal. I also wanted to support Capcom for releasing RE9 on Switch 2 the same day as on other platforms. I'm starting it today!
@GameOtaku I guess the original systems are emulated and their emulator for 32 bits systems may not run properly on the Switch. If that's the case, instead of having some games unavailable only for the Switch version, they've decided to target only the Switch 2. That's easier to market.
Almost all developers are now using AI for generating at the very least boilerplate code and nobody cares, but somehow everyone's going crazy when the same technology is used in the art department.
@NolandC And then most people would have chosen a PS5 or an Xbox over a Switch 2 because if you remove the handheld aspect there's no point in buying a less powerful system. Nintendo exclusives are not enough to warrant as many sells.
@HaNks Just let the developer decide whether to enable the feature for their game or to get access to more RAM. To be fair, part of these 3GB are used by the OS but one more GB available to the game could already make a big difference.
I loved SMT V but I skipped Vengeance on Switch hoping for a technically better version on the Switch 2. Now the Switch 2 is out and I'm still hoping for an upgrade. Come on Atlus, you can do it!
Too bad they didn't add an option to choose between stable 30 and unlocked 60 for the framerate ayatollahs team, but they would have surely skipped the game nevertheless because it would not have been stable 60.
For me it's a day one purchase, playing this game handheld is a blessing.
People need to get over this and realize that modern gaming is digital, whether they like it or not. Game cards are more and more a thing of the past, and I'm saying this from my 35+ years of gaming. Next generation may not even have a game card reader!
I'd argue that you can't promote video games as art on one side, and on the other side harass developers because they made the game as difficult as they wanted it to be with no option to lower the difficulty.
If video games are art, then you must accept the game the way its creators envisioned it. You like it or you don't like it, but you can't ask them to do something they don't want to.
Not sure that's the boss they're referring to in the review, but this morning I beat a boss in the Citadel and by the end of the fight I felt so bad. That must be the saddest victory I've ever had against a boss in a video game.
@DennyCrane There is nothing wrong in what they've done. It's their game and their vision, and this includes the visuals and the difficulty as well. They're entitled to do what they want with their game, and people are entitled to not like or buy their game if they don't want to.
@Dark-Luigi But aren't there enough games out there for you to pick the ones that suit you? If you think a game is too difficult and not for you, if you don't have the time or patience for a game, then why not just pick another one?
It took me around 15 tries to beat Moorwing, but on the last try I didn't get hit at all.
Yes it can be frustrating to some, but just like in the Souls games it feels so rewarding on the last try when you beat the boss and you say to yourself "OK it wasn't so difficult after all".
I'm pretty sure there will be many other S2 upgrades for Nintendo games, but there's no point to release them all at once. Business wise it's better for Nintendo to release batches of upgrades now and then to gather media coverage between big releases.
@RareAir23 Be realistic: Everyone is only talking about the poor performances, and FromSoftware knew very well that by showing the game in this state, everyone would focus solely on the bad performances.
If they chose to show the game in this state, it means it will be like this at launch. If a more recent build could fix these issues, they wouldn’t have shown the game in this state.
This games looks very much like a prototype that never made it into an actual game, and then someone at Nintendo had the idea to sell it anyway at a low price to minimize the losses.
@LazyDaisy It could be better of course, and I hope it will get updated for S2, but it's not that bad either. I've made two playthroughs and it doesn't "run like sh*t".
@NiallMitch14 Yes, I was talking about the download speed of games. I see many people complaining that downloading games is slow but when you don't see the total amount of data being downloaded nor the download speed, it's quite hard to form an opinion on the matter.
I read that the USB-C protocol used by the Switch 2 to communicate with the dock is proprietary, so these alternative docks are not gonna be available anytime soon.

It would be interesting to provide the name of the original system for each game.

Re: PSA: Dynasty Warriors: Origins On Switch 2 Includes A Variable Frame Rate Option
I'm fine with these settings, and I'm looking forward to Thursday to play it.
But if the game is always above 40 fps, why not make an option to lock the framerate to 40 instead of 30?
Re: ICYMI: Animal Crossing: New Horizons Switch Gets A Free Switch 2 Update Next Week
@moonsider Thanks, that's much clearer than the article.
Re: ICYMI: Animal Crossing: New Horizons Switch Gets A Free Switch 2 Update Next Week
I'm not sure I understand: Version 3.0 was supposedly free, but the Switch 2 upgrade was $5 if I remember correctly.
So now everything is free?
