The problem I have is, whilst enjoyable in itself, the pointlessness of battling is why I got bored and didn't finish Colour Splash. It's what the community has been calling out for for years and it seems Nintendo still haven't heard.
This may be the last Paper Mario game I buy. If I get bored like last time I can just eBay it.
Pokemon has fooled me once too many and it now seems like Paper Mario will too

@Friendly this is why I bought a PS4 last year. I was tired of being a Nintendo only gamer. All the switch let me do up until that point was finally play Skyrim

Score won't be as relevant as any description on battling rewards or purpose

I haven't played this game and i'm almost to scared to. I bought it on sale so i'ts ready - but I don't know how much of a time hole it will be and if i'll feel guilty or ruin the game by not playing it for a while

Paper Mario is a maybe for me. I want to like it but i'm also worried I won't. I'll wait for more info/first impressions. All I need is for battling to not be pointless and i'll be happy - don't care if that's exp or whatever, just make it actually be worth doing.
Then it's the long stare into the horizon of no more announced 'main IP' Nintendo games

@NintendoPok i pay £20 a year for NSO that I don’t use so what’s the difference. It’s such a small amount of money and I like having my shiny living Dex and 300 Deoxys ha

A lot of Ninty games I get, play, and resell on to fund the next game I get. I obv keep a lot of them but eventually i'll sell on - or replace with digital option if I like it and it goes on sale #mariorabbids

@NintendoPok I use Home to store all my Mon from Bank and have been using the GTS to complete my Shiny Living Dex. I thought Sword was garbage and I got rid ages ago

Just need to borrow a game from somewhere to do my home transfer to get it

I recently bought this on PS4 for £4. I will buy it on switch for gyro aiming alone (I assume that’s what they mean by motion controls). Especially is there’s a launch discount!

Ok, I care more now. But i'm still concerned that without exp, or some actual battle reward other than 'coins', then battling will become unnecessary and pointless like previous titles.

The lack of motivation for battling is the only thing that caused me to put down Color Splash back on the Wii U

I got it on PS4 for £8 back in March but haven’t played it so I was tempted to get on on Switch and properly give it a go. No gyro aiming has stopped me doing that and I guess I’ll just play it on PS4 eventually.

I made a second character on my island to ensure I get a real from Reed each time... guess that’s not entirely possible.

@andyc777 i'm OK with other battle systems - i'd prefer original and straight forward but whatever.
What I can't get behind is a battle system, like in sticker star and colour splash that has no EXP therefore no actual reason to battle.
I never finished CS as I got bored of it

Please RPG elements. Just give me a reason to battle and I will. I'm afraid if it doesn't again I may just give this a miss, which is sad

Please have RPG elements in battles. If no EXP I quickly lose interest in all battling as it becomes meaningless to progression, and the whole game becomes a chore

Never played a Mother game, so I never understood all the heat for a Mother 3 localisation. Maybe i'll look into whether I can get it

I'm guessing because Stadia streams, vs Switch that runs so i'ts probably infinitely easier to put them on Stadia

I'd love a tweak to the ladder item. I'd like to be able to place it next to a cliff so I can climb up and down without having to carry it/equip it each time. Maybe craft 8 or so ladders and dot them around some cliffs

@GoddessKofuku I have one in my town now. I'm waiting to find a skeleton that I can bury in front of it

What were the other 2 games? Mario Odyssey and Breath of the Wild?
