One game that just seems to keep getting better with age is the lifestyle farming simulator, Stardew Valley.
The previous patch - version 1.4 - was rolled out at the end of last year, and in the latest update on Twitter, creator Eric 'ConcernedApe' Barone has now teased version 1.5. This update is apparently coming along nicely, and when it does arrive will add a "significant" new piece of end-game content.
As US Gamer notes, there's now a door behind Willy's counter - with signage above it that supposedly resembles a ship. Could it perhaps be a whole new area to explore? We guess we'll just have to wait until we get another update from Barone.
Will you be returning to Pelican Town when version 1.5 is released? Tell us down below.

More tempting details trying to pull me into farm life..... been holding off as Animal Crossing demands so much of my mindless repetitive game time. Is there room for both!? Maybe during covid times..
This is truly the game that keeps on giving. Over 4 years after its release, it's still getting content updates!
I literally just started playing this again. Can't wait to see what's next
That looks like a hat more than a ship. Hat shop?
I’m currently on Year 2 with the Four Corners map, still haven’t seen all that 1.4 has to offer yet
I can’t wait for the update! This is my most played game on the system, and quite possibly my favorite of all time. Can’t wait to try it out!
‘...supposedly resembles a ship.’ Harsh.
Oh this is great! I was wanting to start a new farm! The game always loses me after about year 2-3 so more late game stuff sounds great!
I wish he'd give at least a ball park estimate of when the update will be though. Even something as wide a range as a month.

Pretty sure that table on the right with satchel and other object is new also. This, is the game that I have spent the most hours on out of my collection.
I haven't played this game and i'm almost to scared to. I bought it on sale so i'ts ready - but I don't know how much of a time hole it will be and if i'll feel guilty or ruin the game by not playing it for a while
Mixed feelings about this. I love the amount of support this game gets, but I want a new game from Eric as well. I've already bought this game multiple times and I want his creativity focused on a new project. It's not my call to make, but a man can wish.
Stardew Valley > Animal Crossing
If I could I would be more than glad to go back in time NOT buy repetitive/boring/mindlessly time consuming and not fun to play AC pukes and give all the money to Eric instead...
I am literally scared to buy more Nintendo exclusives because nintendolife's rating is just a joke and all those games being good and all they lack something crucial.
all good but still missing something big time...
I literally have much more fun playing Duke Nukem or other "little"/older games (The Flame in the Flood, Rogue Aces, tons of others) than those supposedly 10/10 big hits...
Going back to topic...
SV wipes the floor with ac.
I just bought this for my daughter and she loves it to bits.
@krvstkvlt He's stated in the past that he is working on two other projects which he is excited about, and if he's excited about them, I'm definitely excited.
@tgchan I completely agree that SV is 1000x better than AC. In fact most games are better than AC. It's a shame, I try to tell a few friends about SV and how it's only $15 instead of $60, but they don't seem to listen. I won't shame anyone for enjoying AC, but I've been playing AC since the original Gamecube release and yeah, SV wipes the floor with it.
@tgchan I'm with you, I havent played an Animal Crossing game properly since the GC game as none of them grabbed me. I thought New Horizons finally got me but I stopped after a month. It needs way more QoL improvements as there are far too many annoying things in it and it needs to have MORE things to do, I've played SV for 4 years from PC to Switch...I've been spoiled! You have to do better Nintendo!
And yeah, Nintendo has been a bit lacking for me. I've enjoyed a lot of games but none I really go back to aside from Mario Maker 2 and even that is only because of user created levels, it wasn't much of an improvement and Nintendo dropped support within less than a year and it feels...incomplete...there is room under 3D World for more themes dammit!
Stardew...goddamn is this a content heavy game! For such a low price it has given me more hours than any game ever! I've even got multiple saves with different types of farms and one where I go the Jojo route rather than Community Center and its a wonderful experience restarting, usually games like these can be a chore to restart but not this, you play in different ways. My daughter gets up and plays 2 hours a day at a minimum and its been a great game to bring us closer. I've never bothered to really 100% games unless you get something significant out of it but Stardew, I just want to see everything and I'm still discovering new things, things that weren't even added in the update!
Mr Barone is making two Stardew related games, I believe one is a spin off which is "a little fun" and another is in the Stardew world but not a farming game but is a very ambitious task. No matter what they are, day one purchases for me. I have a lot of confidence in him and his team and I love how much free content he has put into one cheap title.
As for this screengrab...wouldnt it be awesome if the door leads to a new boat...and Willy lets you rent it to go sea fishing? Or even to a secret island!
I personally think animal crpssing is better than stardew valley, but I wont blame anybody if thay think stardew valley is better
@dragont and that's the beauty of it. We all have our own choices. They're all great games and I think it comes to what we are looking for in each one./
@Panopticon Yeah, I know! But a man has two hands and whenever he's working on new content for this game, it's not for his new game. Or maybe it is, if it's using all of the SV code and assets.
@krvstkvlt Good point! But I love SV and I will love anything he puts out so I'm happy with any and all of his content. Plus, after sinking over 450 hours into SV (on multiple farm layouts) I can say that SV is amazing but not perfect. I would love to be able to dye the outdoor flooring different colors, or make custom designs altogether like in AC. Then it would be nearly perfect.
