Animal Crossing down to fourth, what a failure!
Why has Minecraft for Switch been selling so well? I'm actually genuinely confused
Bowser would be furious if 3D World wasn't at the top.
@BeefsoundMagnus
No it is the Switch version only. Clue is in the name there.
Also, Minecraft is a family game and Switch is THE family console.
@TheFullAndy Ah I see I didn't think about that lol
@BeefsoundMagnus
I would rather play Dragon Quest Builders 1 + 2 and Portal Knights over than Minecraft. They are Way much better than Minecraft in term of aesthetic and gameplay.
All blocky shapes from Minecraft are really ugly in my opinion. 😑
@FroZtedFlakerZz the same with ACNH. Love that Nintendo is doing well with those titles, but still selling so much? wow
@FroZtedFlakerZz me too. It's not exactly the best version of minecraft
@FroZtedFlakerZz
There is probably households with kids who have a Switch/Switch Lite each and a copy of Minecraft each, all starts to add up I imagine.
It is a massive seller in Japan as well for Switch.
Bit the bullet and bought 3D World again - mate of mine who recently bought it but never knew it existed before is absolutely loving it. Chatting to him about it made me all nostalgic so I thought what the hell. Plus I can play with him in multiplayer as well now.
@BeefsoundMagnus
Easily done!
@CorvoRevo
I enjoy playing Fifa, got a problem?
GTAV is back after 1 week break.
Be interesting to see if Xenoblade 2 makes even a small dent next week since it sold out in Japan and getting in low stock in the US since the Direct.
Well deserved. Bowsers fury is super duper
@WiltonRoots plus bowsers fury is amazing. Enjoy
Mario beating Fifa in the UK? Wow go Nintendo
Minecraft on Switch has outsold Smash Bros Ultimate and is on the verge of outselling Pokemon Sword/Shield in the UK.
The funniest thing about this list is that Ring fit adventure is outselling Spider man miles morales in the place where the playstation has the least amount of competition
@westman98 It's minecraft Of course it sells well
Mario 3D World deserves to sell MILLIONS!
I owned it on WiiU (and still do!) but I am so happy I bought it on Switch too..it feels so different and I can take it wherever I go now. One of my all time favourite games!!
By now I would expect that most people who wanted to buy Mario kart 8 deluxe already got it, how in the world is it still so high up in the charts today?
@Skrijver it’s practically a default purchase if you buy a Switch. Same with Animal Crossing. I am surprised Odyssey isn’t a default too.
@Skrijver I think it is because MK8DX is a system seller. When someone buys a Switch, it is likely that they will pick up the game, too. Probably the reason why Nintendo isn't releasing a Mario Kart 9. They just have no need to.
Feb is probably a less competitive time of year but for contrast 3DWorld debuted at #14 in the UK on WiiU in November 2013.
The case its re-release managed #1 for 2 consecutive weeks in the UK is impressive.
Those sports nerds are relentless
The Nintendo Switch is going to outsell the PS5 and XboxX by a huge margin. Those two systems are powerful but people are realizing that there's no need for extra power anymore. The Switch can handle The Witcher III, for godness' sake.
@TheFullAndy Sad to see a game flop that hard... a dang shame. It deserved better...
I'm going to get it at some point when I'm flush.
@WiltonRoots,
I said I would not get 3D world, then a week from release caved in and pre ordered, glad I did it's been ages since I played it and Bowser's fury is sweet.
Funny how they delist the previous fifa every year when the 'new' one comes out so you can't get the older one for a fraction of the price
@westman98 Minecraft not being available on the WiiU until so lat in the system’s lifecycle also hurt its sales.
way to go Mario. I knew this was going to be the big seller. And when it comes comes to mine craft I think just like Animal Crossing, it is such a relaxing game. many casual gamers flock to fun titles like this just to have fun and relax.
Mario power! I hope Bravely Default 2 does well in the UK.
@rockodoodle
What does that have to do with Minecraft sales on Switch?
Why the hell would anyone with a working brain buy FIFA on Switch?
That version is basically a glorified mobile phone game.
@westman98 nothing... just a random thought and observation
@Angelic_Lapras_King Its sold out at Amazon and Bestbuy. You can still get from 3rd party sellers but it's now been marked up.
@TheWingedAvenger of course the switch will outsell them, there are households with 2,3 and even 4 switches in them. That's the genius of Nintendos system and the hybrid nature, Get one for all the family. You don't do that with a normal console. Disagree with the whole power thing, there is a reason both new consoles sell out in seconds, both have had big launches, apparently Sony's is the biggest in history. Lots of different gamers out there that like different things, room for everyone. I love my switch, but I also love my PS5 too. And whilst the switch is impressive, will be interesting to see what happens when 3rd party's start making next gen only games. That's why I think the switch 2 comes out in 2024.
@FroZtedFlakerZz l'm surprised by it. I wouldn't think Minecraft would sell that good for switch because its been popular on PC and xbox much more.
Cant wait to get 3D world next pay! Gonna 100% it this time!
@GC-161 I mean, if they love soccer and only have a switch, options are pretty limited.... Now Nintendo could probably fill that hole for some people with a new Mario strikers game but that's really it.
@TheWingedAvenger Owning a Series X, PS5 and Switch I respectfully disagree dude. Some Switch games are great but some experienced in consoles are only possible in consoles with their power. Yeah Switch got The Witcher 3 and DOOM Eternal, but they don’t compare to the full sized versions.
@FroZtedFlakerZz its the worlds most selling game!
@TheFullAndy yep pathetic numbers from Animal Crossing. It'll fall off a cliff in two weeks. I blame the massive "30fps and only one island" scandal. That was a dramatic afternoon on Nintendolife...
@WiltonRoots
Online complainers proving to be a true reflection of the mass market yet again!
@TheFullAndy yep, storm in a teacup...
@1UP_MARIO Had a little burst on 3D World today, the extra pace makes a big difference! It makes the Wii U version feel pedestrian and easy, I'm enjoying having to relearn it all over again - you really need to feather the analogue stick a bit to avoid slipping all over the place. Great stuff.
@TheFullAndy Me ? No. You ? Probably.
@CorvoRevo
What is your issue with people who enjoy Fifa?
Ignoring the poisonous microtransactions it is an enjoyable enough game.
@TheFullAndy The problem with those ppl who enjoy Fifa is that they basically buy the same game every year . And this happens only in UK. I love football too but not that much to pay full price for the same game every fu*** year
@arpaktiko
Wrong 1: It does not only happen in the UK. At all.
Wrong 2: I buy it once every two years, when on sale usually half price. In fact the reason it had a surge this week was due to a sale.
Wrong 3: There are gameplay differences with each yearly iteration that can really change how the game feels to play, not always massive changes but it does and can happen. Obviously Switch is the exception as it is now legacy editions but that is about 10% of the sales of Fifa.
