There just too many things wrong with this to be real. The story of investors looking at the box art for the game is just improbable. The Virtual Boy was made to replace the Original Game Boy and there was hype for it when it was being released, but unfortunately it was rushed to launch to coincide against the then new Sony PlayStation and Sega Saturn. The 1994 Japanese launch of the Virtual Boy was abysmal, with the fact that it had warning labels covering it and little to no games being at launch. Although with that being said, it did do semi-decently in North America, but not enough to where Nintendo would considered it a substantial success, so it was discontinued shortly after to focus their efforts on the upcoming Nintendo 64.
What I'm trying to say is, Nintendo would never have a meeting with investors about a new "Hit" for the Virtual Boy, especially after the pitiful Japanese launch and the mundane sales in North America, Nintendo would rather cut it's losses and focus on a product that would sell rather than try to focus on a product that wasn't.
@BlueOcean Hopefully, that'll change soon. With Metroid 4 coming in the near future, it'll possibly open the door for other IP's that haven't seen a new release in a long time.
@BlueOcean They'd remember that they have Mario Kart and forget the thought that they had anything else other than that...Man, I hope we get something out of those IP's, it's been long overdue.
I get that Awakening and Fates saved the franchise, but at least bring more to the table. Having more characters from different games won't alienate anyone from this game, if anything it would introduce players to other games from the franchise and possibly help other games to be localized.
@invictus4000 It's good gameplay wise, though linear. It's just the game's plot is the reason why it gets a lot of flack, since it's very incoherent to other Metroid titles.
The only real problem I have with this game is the Tales-like art style it's going with, which in my opinion feels a bit generic, since I'm more used to the original Xenoblade art style. Other then that I'm hyped for this game's release.
@Biff_ARMStrong I understand that 3D Sonic games always get a bad rep, but saying all of them are terrible is just an ignorant thing to say. Like when I saw comments of people disregarding ARMS when it was first shown off, but that's what happens when people judge a book by it's cover without even bothering to look into to it.
Sonic Colors & Generations were actually solid games. Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 both have their strengths and weaknesses, but some of it's weaknesses can be forgiven for the time it was released, and let's be honest Super Mario 64, while a great 3D platformer never had the best camera control. Lost World and Unleashed were alright games with an interesting gameplay mechanic idea in mind, but their both relatively shallow.
There definitely is irregularity in terms of quality (no doubt about it) ,but they are a few games that are good and shouldn't be disregarded because of infamous notoriety of others.
I don't know why some people are getting really salty over this, so what it's not coming on an Nintendo console, they're other games to worry about then this. And making dubious conspiracies isn't really helping, 3rd parties have the right to choose which platform they want to release their games on, that's why they're obviously called 3rd parties.
I wouldn't mind the idea of a digital code in a box, but the fact that the Japanese version has a sticker book shaped like the manual, a poster, and a fridge magnet that looks like the cart, makes me hope we get something like that rather than a box with just a code and not to mention it be confirmed for a North American release.
I like how this Sega CD game gets a modern day release, yet games like Snatcher, Vay, Lunar, or Popful Mail are nowhere to be found. What a world we live in.
ARMS was alright, but my Switch has been mainly a Neo Geo machine for the past month or so. I don't doubt that there's going to be much more in the future, it's all just the matter of waiting.
I wonder if Nintendo would ever bother to make another Kirby Anniversary Collection. It would be perfect for the Switch, since it's a hybrid console and playing the Gameboy games would feel much more genuine.
@PAHTK I understand that you're angry, but you shouldn't take something like this so personally. It's the moderators job to do things like this, even if the report system is flawed. It's like a cop giving someone a ticket for speeding, it's not a personal thing, it's just their job. I agree something like this is a bit unfair, but frankly fuming about it isn't going to solve anything. Thank you for responding to my comment and have a good day.
@PAHTK "got no inflamitory responses", Well that's a lie, you were responded by 3 commenters, I'm not saying I side with them, but you did get responses that were provoked by what you had said.
Also the moderator's only come around to censor comments that were reported by someone clicking the report button. For example if someone made a comment that was considered unnecessary or vulgar, the only way now for a comment like that to be changed or censored is someone clicking the report button, which might explain why it took so long, since any Anonymous Joe can hit the report button no matter what time of day it is.
It's a flawed system, but it's best they can do since I'm sure their understaffed and the number of commenters signing up has really shot up over the past year or so.
Man, I just want a working Saturn Emulator. Is it really too hard to ask? I know it has a complicated architecture, but it should be possible in this day and age to make it work.
@Anti-Matter I believe that DeNA is strictly mobile device only, mainly to help Nintendo produce mobile games like Super Mario Run, Miitomo, and Fire Emblem Heroes.
Quality over quantity was a good way to go. We got two Metroid announcements, a release date for Super Mario Odyssey, and more info on Xenoblade 2. Plus an announcement of more games in development, which will get some imaginations swirling (but hopefully not too crazy). All in all it was a good E3.
@yuwarite I see. They shouldn't really be complaining since the 3DS XL is still selling units and that strives on, well being a bigger 3DS. I think what could be considered to be a "True Portable" is subjective to each person, since everyone's got their own tastes & preferences and you can't usually sway someone's personal opinion. Either way more Switch's for everyone else, I guess? Have a good day.
@yuwarite I don't believe people say that...since portable gaming is quite popular over there. What I found interesting about the Switch is the fact that's it's built not too large, but not too small, so it's perfect for just about any size hand. Well from my perspective I guess.
"I'd be fine with the negative bias in the article if Nintendo Life just admitted it's a fan site and stopped pretending they're journalists."
You understand that he was just joking at the end, right? Other than that I didn't see any negative bias against this game in the article, also the definition of journalism is reporting the news and publishing it to a wide audience. If anything it could be both a fansite and a news site, since it appeals to Nintendo fans and those who just want to see what's new with Nintendo.
@Syrek24 For a guy who's trying to expose someone for being arrogant, hostile and over dramatic, you're contradicting your argument by being arrogant, hostile, and over dramatic. Please, take your own advice and learn to control your own emotions. Because the person you just described was you my friend.
@beazlen1 @darthstuey Don't worry, I still have them in storage. It's just I've been busy these past few years, but I will eventually dig them out and play them, since this book resparked my interest to do so.
@bimmy-lee I see, but what I don't understand is why he's so bothered on how people spend their money, it's none of his business. If he really wants to "Stick it to the man", then he should just go elsewhere and buy from a competitor that'll actually suit his tastes, but I guess that's just how some people are and you can't change that. Thank you for filling me on the details and have a good rest of your day.
@Crono1973 Not really. You have the right to state whatever you want about Nintendo on here, but you didn't have to be so abhorrent towards @DiddlyDoneDead.
@Crono1973 It's business, whether you like it or not. If Nintendo doesn't want to do the whole discount thing and not want future Switch customers then that's their own problem. You are entitled not to buy it, but harassing others who want to buy it just isn't right.
Seeing how the Wii U was the blunder that it was, having it's best games being brought over to it's profitable successor would only make sense, whether the Wii U purists like it or not.
Honestly after seeing the Majora's Mask and Tingles outfit, I might just splurge on the DLC.
@Anti-Matter Tingle isn't "gay", he's just different. He dreams of flying just like the fairies that inhabit Termina with his balloon backpack, which makes him an excellent map maker and great comic relief. His design though many would question it, is just as odd as his personality, which is good since it's makes him stand out among other Zelda characters and the reason why he's a fan favorite.

Better than nothing, I'll pick up Mario Bros when it comes out.

Re: Soapbox: Playing Super Mario Sunshine Today Painfully Illustrates Nintendo's 3D Evolution
Sunshine might have its flaws, but I can listen to its soundtrack all day. Seriously, one of the best soundtracks in a Mario game.

This maybe the beginning of the end for the 3DS, but it's legacy will still live on.

Skull Kid, one of the best Zelda Villains besides Ganon. Or Saki from Sin & Punishment. Either would be a nice addition.
