But seriously, Amazon should take note of these types of incidents and learn from them. If they don't take charge and deal with it now, incidents like these will become a lot more common.
Books, but there are definite examples of great cinematography and rewriting, that sometimes overshadows the book it's based off. For instance The Shining. The book itself is pretty good, but the petrifying essence that the movie gives off, thanks to the visuals and sound design, that a book obviously can't do, makes it superior to it's original source.
@JaxonH Although I don't agree with you, I like the fact that you're not one of those Christians who are disrespectful to whom they don't agree with. I don't see you as the bigoted type, but someone who follows his faith, which you have the right to do. Your calm polite rhetoric is not pretentious nor intolerant, but inviting and acknowledging. In fact I think you made more friends than enemies just from this contentious topic, which is quite welcoming honestly.
@manu0 Well you live in Germany and They live in the United States, so a lot of the points you've stated about your school wouldn't really apply, since they're different countries with a different set of rules dealing with these types of instances. America is a lot more relaxed when it comes to something like this, especially when it's just a thoughtful gift for a good cause.
Just finished replaying Xenoblade Chronicles and I'm happy to see that this game scored well, without any real hiccups. I had my doubts with the story and the new art style, but as long as the core gameplay is solid with something new to offer here and there, I now have a better feeling on buying it.
Thank you Operation Rainfall for bringing Xenoblade Chronicles and Pandora's Tower over.
@Amsterdamsters Dude, chill out. It's a cheap knockoff system with subpar image quality. Trust me, there are plenty of better ways of playing those IP's, that wouldn't involve this.
Castlevania: Rondo of Blood is still hands down my favorite Castlevania game. And one of the reasons for that is the music. Out of all PC Engine/Turbografx games suddenly being released on the aging Wii U VC, I really want that game to be one of them.
@GC-161 It bears little resemblance to the Fire Emblem series. Both aesthetically and gameplay wise, with it being more action based, with the exception of The Rock, Paper, Scissors Dynamic of balancing, which I'm pretty sure existed before Fire Emblem. The strategy and role playing elements are taken from the Sakura Wars and Skies Of Arcadia, since those games were previous worked on by producer Ryutaro Nonaka and Director Shuntaro Tanaka. With the WW2 aesthetic looking very similar to Sega's Daisenryaku series.
Even with all that said Fire Emblem is important TRPG sub-genre, since it brought it to the mainstream, but I doubt that the series fully influenced Valkyria Chronicles.
VC is more of an inspired combination of Sega's Daisenryaku Series and the aforementioned Sakura Wars series. Both of which weren't inspired by Fire Emblem, but instead were inspired by strategic table top games the dev's liked to play when they weren't working. If anything, The Shining series would fit the "Blatantly Inspired by Fire Emblem" remark.
God, I envy this guy's Saturn and Dreamcast collection. Even though the vast majority of them are Japanese Imports, they would be awesome to have, especially if there a complete set.
@samuelvictor The early games from what I've read did do decently, but like the Genesis/Megadrive, they never really caught on in Japan. Especially when the JRPG juggernaut that was the Super Famicom was overshadowing it.
@samuelvictor Well, the Sonic games were created with the west in mind, since Sega wanted to grab the larger gaming markets in North America and Europe. His western "Rude dude with Attitude" schtick never really caught on with Japanese players, in fact the only Sega system that sold well in Japan was the Sega Saturn and that didn't even have a proper Sonic title.
Even if Illumination somehow monumentally screws up this movie, it'll probably still do well at the box office. What Illumination lacks in writing they make it up with marketing, heck some of their movies are among the highest grossing films. Plus it's a Mario movie, what kid wouldn't want to go see it, even if the quality of it would be subpar.
@MsgBoardGamer I wouldn't say the majority of posters around here despise Sonic Forces. I've seen some commenters voicing that they liked the game, but definitely noting problems with it. If anything, I'd say commenters here are more apathetic then reluctant.
@Biff_ARMStrong Lol you're the one who missed the point, I did not say Sega should "Cash in off Sonic Fanboys", my statement above clearly stated that Sega should focus it's efforts on other IP's that deserve sequels, rather than making Sonic sequels. Plus you haven't answered my question that you've played Colors or Generations. So please tell the truth on whether or not you've actually played Colors or Generations and Try to read comments correctly next time.
They did great job with Mania, but it was obvious that this was going to be pretty much a 'meh' game. Hopefully this is a wake up call for Sega to broaden their horizons, i.e., focusing on other IP's that have long been dormant over the past 15 to 20 years.
@Biff_ARMStrong "'..but, but, Sonic Colors and Generations are still good' ... STOP WITH THE 3D SONIC GAMES SEGA!"
It's true they are still good, I don't know why you have such a vendetta against them though. Have you ever played them?
@BlueOcean You are right, Super Mario 64 DS does have a lot of problems, but it does have more to offer then it's original forerunner, since it adds multiplayer and minigames. It would make more sense for Nintendo to just remake Super Mario 64 DS on the Switch or 3DS rather then make a sequel, because it would probably be easier to remake that rather than make a sequel from scratch. Plus the aforementioned problems with the game would be fixed, being that the Switch and 3DS are a lot more proficient with 3D platformers, then that of the Original DS.
@BlueOcean "We need a Super Mario 64 remake and sequel."
Super Mario 64 DS is a remake and technically a sequel, since some elements that were implemented into it were planned for Super Mario 64 2 on the 64DD, before it was unfortunately cancelled.
Whether NOA knew it or not, they fixed that Analog trigger problem that people were criticizing a few months ago. So it's makes GCN VC a lot more probable.
The marketing for this system is a definite step up from the Wii U's that's for sure, and the first year releases for it, certainly solidified its standing in the console market. I'm enthusiastic to see what else Nintendo might have up their sleeves for the Switch next year and so on. Though I shouldn't have my expectations too high.
@Oat That's probably my only gripe with the Joy-Con, but at least it's included on the pro-controller.
The Switch has made quite library for its self, so far this year. But with all this Wii U talk I kind of wish we'll be able to see more re-releases of a few 1st party Wii U games. I understand that there are people who are against that, but honestly I feel that there is a good portion of Wii U games that deserve a second chance on a more undoubtedly financially favorable system.
I think Breath of the Wild is a good game, but it'll never be my favorite Zelda. For nostalgia's sake, it will always be Majora's Mask, but even MM has flaws and so does BOTW as well. Fans being disappointed or being smug about a new entry in a series is just something that always happens, especially something as significant as the Zelda series. Each Zelda game has its quirk that makes it the way it is, whether people love it or loathe it. It took games like Zelda 2, Windwaker and yes, even Majora's Mask a couple years to be given their present day positive recognition.
@KryptoKrunch That could also be said for other Nintendo franchises as well. Super Paper Mario or Metroid: The Other M, games which were not received well with fans upon arrival, are now having a much more positive recognition then they ever had before. It's surprising what the passing of time can do.
@MsgBoardGamer There's also the factor that polished AAA games made under or within a year is almost impractical with current Gen tech. Correct me if I'm wrong, but with previous Gen systems like PS1, N64, etc, there were usually teams of 10-20, each of which would work on one or more technical aspects to a game, which was easy back then, since games were relatively smaller then games being made today, because (obviously) of the limited hardware. But as the hardware became more and more complex, so did the development of games. A team (as said before), which usually contained 10-20, then could contain 30-50 and so on depending how large or complex the hardware or game was. In the process making the ability to finalize a game a lot slower. Even though the notion of game looking "absolutely stunning and polished" is a good thing to keep in mind, but some people forget that something like that takes a heck of a lot of time. And what's unfortunate is the impression that company's have that something like that could be done within a year, with albeit with half-baked results, that could be patched here and there after its release. A habit that slowly becoming common practice by a margin of AAA 3rd party developers.

I'd rather be down for another Panzer Dragoon or Jet Set Radio honestly. Maybe throw a bone to Saturn fans and possible re-release Astal or Dragon Force, if Guardian Heroes got re-released on Xbox 360, then it's possible.
It was decent in my opinion. The Doom and Wolfenstein reveal surprised me and I'll probably get the Xenoblade 2 Controller and Collector's Edition. All in all, it was pretty decent.

Now that would be awesome. Especially if the added The Misadventures of Tron Bonne as a bonus.

Could this mean there's hope for the Legends series as well? Eh, that might be too much wishful thinking.
