Probably won't get it. I don't even think I have 10 gold coins.
I might as well get Other M. I'm sure it's as bad as people say, but that didn't stop me from playing Sonic '06.
Other M is amazing
Don't care what anyone says
Looks like UK getting a load of discounts for points. Metriod Fusion and Starfox 64 discount for Platinum points. 2 Fire Emblems, Starfox Guard, Starfox 64 (which is weird as its called Lylatt Wars in EU) & Brain Training for Gold points
Yay. More wallpapers to spend my points on. Sarcasm. We need better rewards Nintendo...
You know I haven't visit this site in 3 weeks and nearly forgot it existed
Why are they still running rewards like the Wii U is the main console. Nintendo man you crazy.
Who can? Who can? Who can? The garbage man can!
Between my UK and US accounts I have amassed 1030 gold coins. I'm pretty sure I never got awarded any coins for Mario & Rabbids. I could be wrong but I don't think so. Is there any way to check? By the end of the year I'll be close to 1500 gold coins with absolutely zilch to spend them on.
Nintendo Switch rewards have been 'coming soon' for a long time now. Until that happens there's no reason for me to spend any points on anything
definitely gonna take the theme and the wallpapers
That 3DS theme will be mine
THESE. ARE. NOT. REWARDS!!!
Nintendo are dropping support for Wii U as fast as they can yet we are still getting discounts on Wii U games. It makes no sense.
Seriously FFS!! After 6 months Nintendo still hasn't bothered putting up Switch rewards on My.Nintendo! /FACEPALM
Would be nice to get the Themes going on the Switch for example! /shrug
@Kayfios It's actually great, just different. Set directly after Super Metroid, 3D renditions of awesome scenes from that game and the gameplay is in 2.5D. The music is great and the storyline works, it's definitely 'Metroid'.
@OorWullie You can check here: https://my.nintendo.com/point/history
It doesn't tell you the game's name so you'd need to know the date you bought/registered it.
@chardir It makes perfect sense, give out discounts to squeeze every last drop out of it. Basically it's a closing down sale!
I got both wallpapers (for my iPhone and my computer) as well as the 3DS theme. I am loving the music for the 3DS theme! September 15th cannot come soon enough!
@Samwise7 Maybe, but how many Switch owners don't even have a Wii U or 3DS? Quite a significant number I'm guessing. And frankly those are the people they should be encouraging loyalty in.
@chardir Nice one, cheers. I actually did get awarded 60 gold coins then.
I mean...gotta spend those coins on something, right?
Wow, not even a discount worth using.
@damo Dont 'you guys usually list the system the reward is on? You know, Switch, Wii U, PC, mobile or 3DS?
Here are the available rewards:
Metroid: Samus Returns theme - 20 Gold Coins
Metroid - 50% discount - 250 Platinum Coins
Metroid 2: Return of Samus - 30% discount - 10 Gold Coins
Two Metroid: Samus Returns wallpapers - 50 Platinum Coins each
Metroid: Other M - 50% discount - 80 Gold Coins
It's 7AM, you can't expect me to think this early in the morning.
And no theme is worth 20 Gold points, themes should be free. That's like paying extra for commercials.
Hopefully will come to Europe, definitely will get theme.
@Kayfios Its not a bad game as some people say, it plays pretty decently considering its limitations (i.e. Usage of Wii remote only) and feels fairly linear in an attempt of being more "cinematic".
The story, plot and characterisations all suck though.
Oh and to save you some frustration later on, don't forget about the Power Bomb and how to use it.
@Kayfios Other M is a really great game, especially on Hard. I really recommand you try it.
When is Nintendo gonna get it together and offer something I'm not already able to steal?
@Kayfios It's not, the Internet just flips out over everything.
@Kayfios People only complain about the dialogue and sometimes the voice acting, story, and relatively more linear nature of the game (despite being the same structure that was used in "Fusion"). However, the gameplay in "Other M" is top notch.
Anyway, I have a question: Since my brother owns our copy of "Other M," that discount for my own copy of the game is tempting. However, would I be able to use my save data on my SD card for the physical Wii version of the game with a digital copy downloaded to my Wii U? It's not worth it if I have to start the game all over again.
Since I needed to use up some coins before they expired I wound up getting theme, wallpapers and other m.
@Kayfios Don't let other peoples' negative opinions form your opinion of a game. Play it yourself, you may enjoy it. I avoided Other M for years because of the negativity surrounding it, found it at Target 2 years ago for $10 and figured "why not?" and actually really enjoyed it.
Never played Other M...was thinking about it when it first released on Wii U VC. What do you all say? Is it worth it???
You know, I'd dump my gold coins on Zelda: BOTW Picross in a heartbeat if they had it simply because they are going to expire before any Switch rewards exist. That's not a very nice way to run a rewards program. Many of us purchased a Switch and at least 3-4 first party games and are sitting on gold coins waiting for ANYTHING to come out for Switch.
Every one of those things I want, I already have.
@Kayfios skip/ignore the story and the gameplay isn't bad at all.
I may as well grab the theme since some of my gold coins are expiring soon anyway. It does look cool.
...Still miss Club Nintendo, though.
I don't know how I'm ever going to use my coins if this is the best of the best for me to use them on haha... ugh.
wallpapers for 50 Platinum Coins. This is all Nintendo cares to actually offer besides crappy game discounts? What a joke
I would've liked to get a discount for Super on either WiiU or New 3DS. Though I did just picked up Earthbound beginnings.
@BulbasaurusRex Worked with my save data for Kirby's Return to Dreamland. Thank God, too, cos I ain't 200% clearing that game again!
@RodSD64 It is good, at least I like it way more than Fusion which is the least Metroid of all. The problem for me it's the controls, I really wish they had used a scheme similar to Mario Galaxy instead of forcing the sideways wiimote. It just doesn't work all the time when needing to switch views.
@chardir Yeah I don't have a Wii U but they need to sort VC before they can start handing out discounts on the Switch and some of the games I want on 3DS VC (i.e. Metroid Fusion/IV) aren't even available grrr.
50% for a Platinum Reward is fine with me (too bad in my case it's Metroid, which does not interest me at all) as those are free. But Gold Rewards really need to go back to free games or at least otherwise good rewards. Their system is fairly crooked, compared to competitors. Discounts are nothing special, and Nintendo needs to realize that.
I keep accidentally letting my gold coins expire due to lack of interest grabbing rewards. Ugh.
@Kayfios Other M is not a bad game at all. The biggest issue people have with it is the story and dialogue. The gameplay is rock solid.
@World I completely agree about the gold rewards. Some of the platinum rewards are ridiculous too ( I mean 250 plat points for a discount on freaking nes metroid. The game is $5 and 50% off is the best they can do!?). The gold rewards tick me off because a little over a year ago I got metroid 2 on the 3ds using gold coin (20 gold coins iirc). Now a year later the same game they gave away is only getting a measly discount that would be common place on literally any other platform. My Nintendo has actively gotten worse as time goes on
@Oat Yeah, I hear that. Platinum points are free to obtain, but on the other hand those rewards only look okay because Nintendo never does sales. Fair point there.
Gold Rewards are an absolute joke no matter how you look at it, though.
@invictus4000 It's good gameplay wise, though linear. It's just the game's plot is the reason why it gets a lot of flack, since it's very incoherent to other Metroid titles.
The theme's a great little theme if you haven't picked it up already.
@PtM Thanks for correcting me. I couldn't remember the exact amount
I have like all of these already, though…
Can we get more exclusive rewards, like a Metroid Picross?
