Each day I'm reminded of all the franchises SEGA chooses to keep in purgatory
At least we got Panzeer Dragoon back. Maybe by 2073 when I'm a deteriorating old man I'll be singing "UNDERSTAND, UNDERSTAND THE CONCEPT OF LOVE" again on my death bed
SEGA: "Skies of Arcadia? What's that?"
Damn, if they made a set of these and I had a couple grand to throw around like nothing, I'd buy them in an instant!
Also, lame SEGA! You let this stuff be made, knowing it will drum up long dormant desires of a SoA remake or sequel, that we all know will never happen! 😡
I do love that sega is keeping f4f busy but I feel like they should have ordered reprints or new versions of previous statues in this and the nights line because it was so long between releases.
@JR150 It's totally different style of game though
This is a game I'd love to try out one day given all the praise I've heard for it. I hope Sega will give it a remaster one of these days, but they don't really seem to care about the vast majority of their IPs these days unfortunately.
Engage in consumerism, monkeys! Dance for us and give us your money in exchange for nostalgia!
400+ dollars for a lump of plastic. Absolutely ridiculous.
Hmmm... how can I convince my wife that this is both not a horrible use of my money and not a mildly creepy thing to display around the house.
Must...not...buy... Oh no.
@Ryu_Niiyama No re-releases please, I have money to make on some of these things, I just need to fall out of love with them first!
They should release Skies of Arcadia on the Switch! It's a legendary RPG.
@dew12333 It isn’t as if I have any control over that. However I have already stated my preference.
Oh!
Reminds me that I have this game on GameCube, but never got around to playing it.
With no current JRPG drawing my attetion, maybe I should get around to it. :3
@Ryu_Niiyama If you did have control in it then could I get a re-run on the varia suit samus please, which one's would you have picked?
Telling you dude, SEGA makes the worst decisions. This game needs some type of Remake or at least a remaster with better graphics.
@dew12333 I’d like a reprint of the OoT statues and the first Amaterasu statue. And maybe the Link on Epona statue.
@Zebetite well, actually, F4F aren't plastic. That aside, and while I used to buy several of them (at very deep discounts) in the past, like Phazon Suit Samus Exclusive for 70 euro's, Dark Link for 40 I believe,... I totally get your point and despite thinking they're often still beautiful, I'd never buy one again for many reasons.
Ok, that’s it, I finally pulled the trigger and am importing the Jpn version of the game (Eternal Arcadia) for my old Jpn GameCube. Also, Burning Rangers for Jpn Saturn. Those are Sega games I’ve always regretted not buying while living in Japan.
Since I’ve done so, now inevitably Sega will announce ports or remasters for Switch. You can thank me later! 😅
@Teksetter Cheaper and easier just to emulate them, but you do you.
@Ryu_Niiyama Good choices, I do like the 'link on Epona' one which sells for big money now. I am lucky enough to have a dark link and the green tunic link from that collection, and the skull kid one which is my favourite.
@Zebetite
Well, doubtless you’re right, but putting aside the ethics of emulating, I’m really not well-informed on how to safely find and play all those ROMs floating around the internet.
Even without emulating, Ive got more games to play than time to play them anyway!
@dew12333 Yeah the second hand market kinda ruined these as they do with pretty much anything collectible. I'm glad that f4f is working on their pvc line as they are smaller and closer in price to their older statue lines (Plus I'm out of space for their big statues). Their payment plans don't hurt (well they do) either as they make buying statues a lot more accessible. I have I think 5 of them (11 total) thanks to that. I've since supplemented with figma which scratch the itch just fine.
I really just want the Sheik one if I could get one remade but I'm not lining some scalper's pocket for it.
@Teksetter That's fair. It's actually pretty easy and safe to find ROMs if you know where to look, and I'd be happy to point you their way, but odds are good that would violate some rule here. I hope you enjoy those games all the same! Sega was on a roll in that time period.
@Zebetite
Yes, please don’t get yourself in trouble, and like I said I’ve got more games than I can handle already 😄
Sega really was on fire back then - I logged many hours on my Saturn and Dreamcast at the time. Not as much as my PS and PS2, but more than my GameCube. But I kind’ve felt overloaded with games when I decided to move back to the US in 2005, though, and actually GAVE AWAY my DC and most of its games to a friend. I really miss it now! But not so much that I’d spend a ton of money trying to buy everything again.
