@Pikachu_Mariachi same here. You don't think you'd miss motion controls till they're gone, but when I play games you need to aim on Switch now I naturally tilt the screen and it feels weird when they're not there. They're an excellent compensation for the small sticks (which pretty much suck for FPS games - hope Hori make a split pad 2).
@Scottie Hey man, I'm only replying to you so you get a real WTF moment when you get an email notification that someone has replied to a comment you made over 15 years ago. 😆
Didn't have a massive interest in this till the reviews came out but will definitely add it to my list now! Does it have motion aiming in handheld mode, does anyone know?
@Ploppy I recommend CloverPit to scratch a similar itch. Not sure if it's on Switch yet but it's perfect for mobile and available on Android and iOS. I've lost days to it (as I did with Balatro).
Had a quick look this week and it looks and plays pretty great. Had to make a second account to replay all the tutorial missions (yes I know you can access them from the codex but it's not the same). Annoying you can't just reset your progress.
Picked this up recently for about £6 and enjoying it so far. I loved Hades but never finished it. This is far less polished, but fun nonetheless and the Turtles skin over the top of familiar gameplay is a win. I'd say if you can grab this for under a tenner it's well worth it.
This should hopefully be good, and I love the Konami Castlevania collection of the 8-bit originals, but I can't help thinking they're missing a trick never releasing a version of SOTN on Switch.
What's the actual difference between the Pokémon games when they release as a pair, as they normally do? Is there different story or is it literally the exact same game but with some different Pokémon to collect?
Not only does my DS Lite have charge, we moved house last year and I found it whilst packing. It hadn't been used in probably almost ten years. I pressed the power button not expecting anything, but it came on with half the battery left!
Bought this years ago but only just getting round to playing it. I'm feeling lost and confused, don't really know where I'm supposed to be going or what I'm doing. The only other Metroid game I played and finished was Super Metroid on the SNES (via Switch when it first came to Switch Online) which I really enjoyed but that was ages ago. Just kind of wandering around now wondering where to go!
I'm just amazed this got a same day release as the 'big boy' consoles and doesn't seem to have suffered too much by comparison. Shows that the Switch 2 can do pretty cool things when devs put their mind to it, as also evidenced by games like Cyberpunk, FF7R and Star Wars Outlaws. I'll happily take a minor tradeoff against visuals and frame rate for handheld play, but these games are showing a happy medium between the two.
Must have put 200+ hours in to this on PS4 and never finished the main story (much like every Elder Scrolls game!) and am so tempted to get this right now, but my backlog means I can wait a little while for a sale, but I'll definitely be getting it.
@Turbo857 Unity was really underrated I think, mostly because of the bugs at launch. I played it years later and really enjoyed it. It did some interesting things with the different approaches to assassinations and the size of the crowds was incredible, that was what really made it stand out as a next-gen (at the time) title for me, I think.
The only thing lacking in the game was I found the story a bit dull. I would definitely replay that and Syndicate I they brought them to Switch 2 though. Syndicate is the only 'classic style' AC game I never finished because I was almost at the end when I got my PS5 and then never went back to it on PS4.
@Vonsparrow Like I said, each to their own. Personally I found Ghost Of Tsushima incredibly boring. I gave up after about ten hours because I couldn't bear the idea of just repeating the same thing for another 30 hours. I found it beyond tedious with average combat. Glad other people seem to enjoy them though.
Agree with you that Brotherhood was a highlight of the series though. That along with AC2 are two of my favourites.
@Vonsparrow Bit of an exaggeration in my opinion but each to their own. I think AC, AC3 and Unity were all worse than this one. I think it's fine as one of the 'big open world' Assassins Creed games. Probably better than Origins although I'm not sure it's better than Odyssey. (Not played Valhalla, hope they release that for Switch 2).
Well that's a shame, I hope they at least release 4, 5 and 6 for Switch 2. I'm kind of glad Kiwami 3 didn't review so great, it's easily the weakest in the series and I wanted an excuse not to buy it again 😆
@VivianOblivion I'll definitely be downloading it when it comes out. I'll probably make a new account on my Switch 2 to replay the opening couple of hours and then jump back over to my old account. I never got much further than that anyway I think.
The sooner they let us download games on a game by game basis with these Switch Online apps the better. I might want to play one of the GameCube games without having to download 30GB of games I don't want to play at the same time. It was okay with NES and SNES, even N64, but if they end up adding Wii titles it's going to be essential.
Played a few hours back on original Switch many years ago. The most annoying thing is I obviously can't remember ANY of the tutorial stuff and you can't create a new game or start again with the same account.
So pleased this turned out well and I hope it leaves the door wide open for plenty more last gen ports on the Switch 2. I could have played this at any point over the last 4-5 years on Xbox or Playstation but I so rarely get the time these days to sit down in front of 'the big TV' to play AAA games that having this on a handheld is perfect for me. 99% of my gaming is done via Switch 2 in handheld now. And at this price? Amazing. I wouldn't have flinched if they'd charged £60 for this (I'd have waited for a sale, mind, but that's the price I'd expect for it) but at £40 it's a no-brainer. Excellent.
Dammit, Yakuza 3 is easily my least favourite of the series and I had no plans to buy it again for Switch at all. But now they've added all these cool extras... 🤔
@OldManHermit Thing is, you don't really need to engage with any of that stuff if you don't want to. The game is perfectly playable whilst ignoring herbs, potions and oils. You'll pick it up as you play though and find them useful eventually.
Wish they'd stick this on the Switch Online service. The GBA selection is sorely lacking. Where's Mario Golf Advance Tour? Mario Power Tennis? Instead we get a third version of Super Mario Bros 2 and doubles of several SNES games 🤷
Oh, nice. One of my favourite games of the last decade for sure. Been thinking about replaying this on Switch 2. I thought it worked pretty well on the original Switch so this upgrade is the icing on the cake! Really hope they release BG3 for the console next.
EDIT: Huh, I've read the other comments now. Disappointing that 60fps only applies to docked mode. My Switch 2 (and original Switch) have been 99.99% handheld machines only.
Played a couple of hours on Switch 2 and enjoyed it but got distracted by something else. Good to know there will be some improvements when I go back (honestly it's only really motion aiming I'd really want them to add).
EDIT: Good god, the replies in this thread. Barely finished, sub-par, bad port. Get a grip. It was absolutely fine 🤣🤣🤣🙄
@Potreo Well, it turns out I must have upgraded my Skyrim to the Anniversary Edition at some point anyway and forgotten about it because the full Switch 2 version is showing as free for me in the store 😆
@Smerd It's not free though if you have the original cartridge release of Skyrim. Only if you already paid to upgrade to the anniversary edition. It's a shame they couldn't patch the original to look and run nicer instead of forcing anyone who wants to upgrade to the only available Switch 2 edition of the game to pay for an Anniversary Edition they might not want or need.
As for yet another Skyrim release. Bethesda aren't just flogging a dead horse at this point. They're positively hiring a necromancer to resurrect the dead horse from a pile of glue and hair and fvck it in the a$$.
How disappointing. Hope this doesn't foreshadow the Fallout 4 release next year. I'll be sorely disappointed if that one also turns out to be a turkey.

Re: Review: Pragmata (Switch 2) - A Dazzling Puzzle-Shooter Driven By A Heartfelt Friendship
@Kilamanjaro I agree. You'd normally say version rather than port in that case, but I don't suppose it matters really.
