Ha NL...1/3 the comments are positive, 1/3 the comments are negative, and then, the odd 1/3 are busy criticizing the article and the writer, busy telling him how to do his job, and then gets surprised when said writer tells them to fly a kite...and rightfully so. The internet never changes, does it?

Re: Review: King of Fighters R-2 - A Pocket-Sized Fighter That Still Packs A Punch

@doctorhino You make good money, we are in the same ballpark actually. I'm early 40s, married and also saving up for a ton of stuff...and I agree with you on valuing money. We probably do it in different ways. But no none is right or wrong and the more I think about it, the more I realize this argument is not worth the time as everyone has their own opinion in terms of value. Perhaps I pay $8 for this, but I won't for that, and perhaps you do the opposite. And I definitely agree with you that if a collection was available, that would of course be the better choice. Hopefully for this, we will see a collection as that would be much more cost conscious. And honestly, kudos to you for watching your cash and planning out...most don't. I do, so I definitely respect what you're saying and I get your point. You can't spend $8 on every single game there is and you can choose what is worth it to you.

Re: Review: King of Fighters R-2 - A Pocket-Sized Fighter That Still Packs A Punch

AgentLA

@doctorhino We disagree as we are clearly at different income levels, so we see the value of money differently. However, you'll never hear me say, short of Angry Birds, that a NEO GEO pocket game, or an NES game, or even an Atari game, is not robust enough to warrant $8. Minimum wage in the state I work is $12.00 an hour, so do I think most games are worth working 45 minutes in CA, for $8? A resounding yes. In the end, our own personal perspective differs, as its based on our own personal life, and that's ok.

Re: Review: Arcade Archives Super Punch-Out!! - Hardly A Series Highlight, But Still A Welcome Bout

AgentLA

I loved this game as a kid in the arcades, as with all Punch Outs. That big red button always stood out as did the big screen. My grandfather managed an arcade in his retirement age, so I got to play a lot of games for free in the early to mid 80s. Punch out was one of my favorite series so its a dream come true to finally have all the releases on one system, and especially the rarely seen arcade versions. Nostalgia leaning heavy, this is a 9/10 for me.

Re: Review: King of Fighters R-2 - A Pocket-Sized Fighter That Still Packs A Punch

@doctorhino I didn't say they couldn't complain, I said they were cheap and delusional and I will never understand this point of view. And I stand by that whole heartedly. If you argue you don't like the game, that's something else, but to argue you would buy it if it was cheaper, because $8 isn't cheap enough? No, the issue here is a cheap buyer, who most likely is broke and is used to pulling ROMS of the internet illegally for free, who now feels entitled to grab whatever he wants for free. $8 is $8. Its dirt cheap already.

Re: Review: King of Fighters R-2 - A Pocket-Sized Fighter That Still Packs A Punch

Ultimately, though, the main sticking point for some people will be the price. While Neo-Geo collectors will (correctly) believe that its launch price of $7.99 / £7.19 is a steal for a game like this, many looking to discover it for the first time may find that a tad steep for what’s essentially a 21-year-old handheld game...

People have become so cheap. And delusional. They'll pause at buying this but will head over to a fast food joint and spend nearly the exact same amount on terrible food, that's literally bad for your health, and that last 20 minutes. Or order two higher priced coffees at Starbucks and spend more. But this is too much?! I never understood this logic and I never will, despite it being so prevalent out there. I for one am very excited to try a new system I never had a chance to try out before and for a measly $8 a pop, its a no brainer.

Re: FIFA Rival Pro Evolution Soccer Won't Be Making The Switch This Year

AgentLA

Here we are criticizing EA and these fools won't even put out the game. I know a ton who love FIFA on the Switch..,.I don't know a single person who likes PES on Switch, as they don't care enough o release it! Cut EA a break here, at least they put out the game. Konami can't even be bothered to put out a game on the best selling console in the past three years and probably this year too? And instead we get some BS Contra?!?! Unreal.

Re: Feature: Keeping It Physical In A Digital Age

AgentLA

Bravo, beautifully written article that touches on all the strong points of going physical. This is exactly why I prefer physical and most likely always will and I am glad that many other also prefer it. Nothing wrong with going all digital either, and I'm glad the options exist for both.

Re: Nintendo Switch Sales Surpass 61 Million, Equalling The Mighty NES

AgentLA

When the NES was around, only kids and young adults played games, so it would've been impossible to sell as many as today. However, the NES kids of the 80s are now still buying consoles and their kids are too, which is why consoles sell so much more now. They are part of the entire culture and not just for the young crowd. But for cultural impact, the NES remains unchallenged and I believe still the most impactful console ever released. I love my Switch though, they are my two all time favorite consoles.

Re: Nintendo Will Reportedly Release A $250 LEGO NES Console Next Month

AgentLA

For those complaining about the games, this has nothing to do with games being delayed and is an entire different division. This coming out has no effect on games being delayed or not either..,.you can still market your company outside its main line of business and still have your operations work normally. Why new games haven't been announced is something I don't understand, but that has NOTHING do to with this release.

Re: Review: Star Wars Episode I: Racer - This N64 Cult Classic Doesn't Quite Make The Podium In 2020

AgentLA

I remember renting this game and enjoying it quite a bit. For nostalgia purposes, I will buy it as it bring good memories.

And to add to the discussion, Jarjar is a terrible character that marked a huge change in the quality of the franchise. He is and will remain terrible and no amount of revisionist history can change that. The prequels are total crap, with poor scripts, terrible humor, stale and boring lines, and really look and act more like Star Trek (very boring) than Star Wars, and yes, the last 3 that just came out are much better.

Re: Review: Space Invaders: The Invincible Collection - 40 Years Of History In One Package

AgentLA

@Shiryu I know someone who got the full edition...I got to say, I was actually tempted, but naw....that would be crazy pricey. Even if you can afford it, it is a bit much. But the regular edition? Mine is already here! Have you ever checked out Pepsi Invaders? It was a one off made by Atari for a Coca Cola convention. I snagged a reproduction Atari 2600 cart copy off Etsy.

Re: Review: Space Invaders: The Invincible Collection - 40 Years Of History In One Package

AgentLA

I picked it up from Play Asia, don't regret it one bit. Its a great collection and if you love Space Invaders, you'll love the collection. If you don't, are broke or its simply not for you, move on! Or pay $60 for the same FIFA, COD, whatever, that you basically already played last year. That's not an insult, its a fact.

Taste is all personal folks. And Space Invaders is great.

Re: Talking Point: The Time Is Right For Microsoft And Nintendo To Get Comfier With One Another

AgentLA

Nintendo has put MSFT games on its platform, but not the other way around. MSFT is using Nintendo to expand its reach, as it need to, while Nintendo with the Switch does not yet feel this way. I only see Nintendo doing this if they see a huge advantage gained and with the Switch selling like crazy still, I'm not sure that moment is here yet.

I own all three consoles and I use them all. Not sure about next gen but if they're all good, I may get them all again. I didn't see this article as an attack on anyone, as some suggest.

Re: Review: Ion Fury - Hail To The Queen, The Old-School FPS Is Reborn

AgentLA

These constant discussions about being too PC or not enough PC, or whatever else, are getting REALLY OLD on this site. Here we are again....can't we simply understand that others have different opinion and different standards as to what's acceptable or not? You don't find something offensive, others do...so what? That's life! Not everyone agrees. This constant back and forth of you're a prude, it offends women, and who cares, is ASININE. Some of you need to learn to live with different opinions and accept that no amount of arguing online is going to change a strangers mind. And I'm addressing both sides of this stupid and never ending outrage.

Re: Video: Getting A Real Feel For Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition

AgentLA

@TheLightSpirit I'd rather hear bad voice acting in a language I understand than having to read through the entire dialogue of that game! Hell no! The voice acting had some niggles, the fight dialogue was quite funny to me but apparently annoyed others, but overall it was serviceable. My wife loved the little Nopon guys and their voices for example.

Re: Video: Getting A Real Feel For Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition

AgentLA

I went ahead and beat the original game last year on the Wii, as I was about 60-70 hours in when the remake was announced. I thought it was good, but a revision of the graphics to HD will probably bump it up to great. I also hope they address the tedious and not very rewarding side quests. As compared to games coming-out today, they seemed from another gaming era, pre-red dead redemption which really nailed the side quest. Music wise, this game nails it on the head and is a 10/10. Some of the grandest music I've heard in gaming. Anyways, I'd recommend the game to anyone who loves JRPG as it is an immense and epic tale.

Re: SNK Deletes "Inappropriate And Offensive" Samurai Shodown Tweets, Offers Apology

AgentLA

This is hilarious! And of course SNK is going to apologize, what else are they going to do?! Not apologized and risk losing sales? And the admin got a "stern" warning....which is...HILARIOUS! Some of you are taking this too seriously on both ends...no its no the end of the world that SNK apologized and PC culture isn't destroying everything (talk about an over the top statement), and no, its not a big deal it happened in the first place, as it was...HILARIOUS! Chill pills, get a prescription!
