Why can’t we get what we had on 3DS? Honestly, this continues to be bland and for no reason. We can customize other systems much more and sure, it’s not a game changer, but I don’t see why they can’t do more.

Ordered! I saw that email this morning and was quite pleased. I love seeing these older game get remastered and especially with a physical release.

I would love to see more and new games in Punch-Out!

The reasons listed in the article sound like nonsense. More likely, Nintendo is using its vast gaming resources to put out more popular and profitable franchises than Punch-Out .

@CriticalGames. Thank for the reply, and hopefully this one does well enough to warrant converting the 1st game for Switch use. I agree with you as well on automated fights. That’s not what old school RPGs are about and I also would not want them in such a game. Give me that old school feel!

Streaming apps on Xbox are accessed the same way games are, through your Home Screen, which is completely customizable via tiles and menus, or through the home screens sub menu (press Xbox button).

There is no MSFT hub and you have to choose to download the apps. I have modified my own Home Screen, with a space for media apps (about a dozen), below that Arcade games, bellow that NEO GEO games. You can literally create your own menus and decide what is displayed and isn’t. It’s brilliant. And you can name each menu as if MSFT did it out the gate, creating whatever menu you want.

Clean, functional and super easy to use. And vastly superior to the very sparse Switch Home Screen.

Of course there should be more…How is this even a debate? You don’t want streaming apps, don’t download them. This has zero affect on you.

The more features and abilities it has, the more appealing it is to consumers. It’s bizarre to even debate this.

It’s a great game that I enjoyed quite a bit on Xbox, and I think it would be right at home on Switch. Bring it!!

I did get it and I loved it! That’s two OLEDs now. I’m putting away my launch day Switch in storage…has a cracked back and the heating vents on top are gone, leaving a cracked opening where they used to be.

This new one looks great, love the red color combination.

I’m personally loving this game and I’m a big beat ‘em up fan. It’s an easy 8 to 9 out of ten for me. I think this review is a bit too critical, over stressing the negative and not emphasizing the positive. I’m having much more fun than a 7/10.

I started with the original on the NES. It was my third RPG after Dragon Warrior and Ultima, also on NES.

Oh hell yes! Very excited for this. I love how Atari is revisiting its games in a great way. This long time fan, who is old enough to have owned a VCS/2600 in his youth, is quite pleased.

This was a great game and this is too bad, and too soon. I enjoyed it a bunch.

Was the New Panzer Dragoon on rails? I hope this one is good, but much like the others, these seem to work much better with the Wii & its tech. Got a bunch there that I still revisit a few times a year.

Tonnerre de Brest! Incroyable! I grew up in France, reading all the stories, and Tintin is an absolute favorite of mine. Very excited! This story and the Blue Lotus are two of my favorites, so hopefully there’s sequel.

Hmmm…what I loved about the OG is that it was easier to hold, due to its size, for bigger hands. Speaking personally, sliming it down just isn’t for me. Hand cramps is exactly why I got one in the first place, I imagine slimming it down may bring those back.

Finally! The first one was great, we need to see more!

We need that 2nd NEO GEO pocket collection, pronto.

When a writer tries to make a review to highlight his snark rather than the actual game. How about having someone who actually likes the game, review it? Out the gate it’s I don’t like the arcade game to begin with…so why is a man who admittedly doesn’t like the original source product, reviewing this game to begin with?

This review reminds me of a G4 review of FIFA years ago, where the reviewer starts off by saying I hate soccer and then gives FIFA a 4/10, because he hates soccer and therefore, this game sucks to. The angry bald guy from G4 was the culprit. This is the same error here.

My wife, a huge Dr.Mario fan, just played this version and loved it. She’s been playing Dr.Mario since the NES, and we own physical versions over a few systems. She’s a real enthusiast.

What I can say is, as a long time reader of this site, and as a nearly 46 year old man that’s been gaming since the Atari era…what’s garbage, or rubbish for you, are your reviews. This style of writing is an embarrassment, and your snark does the website and the review, a total disservice.

@TheRedComet Agreed. Play with what you like. I've owned every console the past two gens and this will most likely end up the same. They all offer something unique and different.

I'll get a PS5 when the new VR is out, or if they lower the price and redesign the console. More games would be nice too. I got a Switch and a Series X, and those are outstanding for their own right. Gamepass is great. I'd thought I would not like it, but I was wrong.

I will most likely pay and tune in. I loved NP back in the day and still own quite a few, including mint copies of some of the original first year run. I loved them back in the day, late 80s to the early 90s.

I've already had many games, DLC and others removed from stores to where they are not able to be re-downloaded, that I am glad that all my favorite games are physical. And yes, I have an Xbox and Gamepass and its great...but if I love a game, its going physical so I can have it forever and preferably on Switch if possible. I have Atari 2600 carts from the late 1970s that still work just fine, yet I have downloads from the mid 2000s that I can't re-download as the store is closed and if the hard drive crashes, which it will, they'll be all gone. I hate that. Its a ticking timer of death for some games. Digital is convenient upfront but is a terrible way to keep your library intact in the long run. I think most Nintendo fans care about their library much more than others. I've had numerous hard drive crashes in my life that wiped out entire contents...game carts crashing? Its a huge count of zero gone bad, dating back to gaming in the 1970s, so 40 + years.

All the Zelda II haters just need to get better at video games. Period.

Give us a nice physical packaging that honors this collection!

Cleary she needs to be Samus, but I wonder if her Disney contract stipulates she cannot do any other superhero type movie as long as she's Captain Marvel?

According to wikipedia it sold well enough to become a player's choice game in Europe. 1.5 million sold, on the Gamecube, is pretty good in my book. And the game is superb, with great graphics and a great soundtrack.

This is impressive for a one man build. It needs some graphical work, and is missing that F-Zero catchy music, but it shows a lot of promise. I hope he can get help to put it out as high quality and as fast as possible!

Ouch! I may just cancel my preorder and just rebuy the GCN originals instead.

I'm looking forward to these...the physical delivery was delayed due to shipping issues, but hopefully the wait won't be too long. I agree the review reads better than the eventual score.
