Animal Crossing New Horizons

Famitsu's Japanese chart figures are now in for 17th - 23rd August, revealing that Animal Crossing: New Horizons is number one once again. Was there ever any doubt?

The game sold an admittedly lower-than-usual 42,863 physical copies this week, putting it just a few thousand shy of hitting 5.6 million boxed sales in Japan alone. Ring Fit Adventure remains in second place, joining New Horizons in leading a very Nintendo-dominated top ten.

In fact, nine of the top ten games are on Switch, and looking even further down the chart, Nintendo's platform has taken 26 of the top 30.

Switch hardware sales were also down this week, with the original model taking the biggest tumble. Sales were down across the board, however, so Nintendo still came out very comfortably on top. Here are this week's figures, followed by lifetime sales in brackets:
