Very nice. I LOVE my split pad pro.

Looks nice, but make a regular black one that features gyro (still baffles me how the one made specifically for Daemon X Machina, a game that supports gyro, doesn't have that o.O) and you've got a buy from me Hori!

Really wanted the split pad, but I personally didn’t get into daemon x machina, so I wanted to see if we would get a generic design. This is better.

Best portable controller on the market without a doubt.

@MasterJay the only thing related to that game is the X button. It’s a red X.

I can't fault my daemon X machina split pad prob. It's my go to over my nintendo grip and joy con. My left joycon thumb grip is giving me awful trouble lately it drives me crazy.

This is quite nice, but slightly annoying that they don't work undocked, so can't use with the fabulous FlipGrip for some excellent vertical screen gaming.

I always wanted the split pad Pro but was indecisive thanks to the color scheme. This variant looks sweet as hell tho and I can't wait until its launched.

I already own and love my Ex Machinna Hori Split Pad Pro but I would love to get my hands on this one too! Looks great.

Honestly I couldn't do without it as the joycons just caused to much cramp and a real dpad is just the best.

For Switch 2 I hope for bigger joycons.

These look great! The Switch has been out now for 3 years? I feel like we should have had dozens of wild looking joycons by now.

I've been using the split pad pro with Grid lately, its far better for nuanced control than the standard Nintendo joycon. Going through corners, I'm better able to feather the throttle with the Split Pad.

So the person who wrote this half-baked article couldn't be bothered to ask if these things will be coming to the west? Welp it's not like I actually expected someone working for this site to go above and beyond 😂

WOW, it's beautiful! I'm a Pac-man super-fan, so this would be amazing, but the deal breaker is no functionality without being attached to the console AND no HD rumble. Such a shame.

Mine's perfect for me because of my big hands. They don't cramp up as much anymore.

Love my Hori Daemon X Version. Having back buttons is fantastic and the size is great. I totally recommend it.

@NinjaSyao I'm surprised that nobody on the development team thought to default to the gyro sensor inside the Switch for situations where no gyro controller is present.

The sticks on the Split Pad Pro are not stiff enough - they lack that sturdiness that the Pro controller has

The split-pad in my opinion is the greatest peripheral for the system. it makes it into what it should have been from the start. I hate that I now need another one.

No rumble or built in battery. No thanks. I like them otherwise but this seems like a step back.

No rumble or motion support is baffling. I will stick with my left D-Pad joy con and my Satisfye Switch Grip Pro. I still get rumble and motion control out of the right joycon.

@brunojenso “The original Split Pad Pro was released to coincide with Daemon X Machina”. This is the same thing but with a Pac-Man theme. I have that original pad they released.

It's a beauty, but without wireless/motion/rumble support, it's a pass from me. The fact that the damned thing is so bloody wide would also render it uncomfortable to hold. Happy for those that are into this though. We are absolutely spoiled for choice this generation.

The Switch tablet itself also has gyro, but for some reason doesn't default to it when there's no gyro on the attached controller...
So if the controller doesn't have gyro, you're not getting gyro in your game. It's dumb yes, but what can you do?

I'm just gonna wait until a split pad pro appears that has it built in. No point in waiting for Nintendo to fix the Switch's lackluster feature set, at this point it's pretty clear they don't care about that.

@MasterJay I love my Split Pad Pro. I've never played Daemon X Machina. The only branding is the label on the X button unless you count the color scheme.

Do these come with or without JoyCon drift?

Finally, a reason to buy this, if there wasn't already like 50

I can't bring myself to play anything with Joycons if I don't have to after using these. They're so comfortable and they make long, handheld gaming sessions totally cramp-free. If they want to keep cranking out different versions, I'll keep buying them.

It amazing how Hori seem to produce such rubbish yet get the Licence contract.

@sixrings without, these are more like Xbox full controller parts. They have no rumble or motion though

I like the big grip, but if I can't use them wirelessly, it's a deal-breaker.

It's neat add-on that I would buy if they included HD rumble. The fact that the first version of this didn't vibrate was a deal breaker for me.

@noswitchbutidc I think it's valid to criticize them for not having rumble. It's part of all standard Nintendo controllers. Of course these do cost less than a normal pro controller, but it would be nice if they offered a rumble version too.

I'd be sold if they updated the back-paddle functions. I still find it almost ridiculous that the left button can only register L, ZL and L3.

@mr_benn Yes...how I wish they had a more expensive version with batteries so you can flip grip them.

I love the split pad pro. If you're on the fence, don't be. It blows away the Joycons and is my go to for portable gaming. Less hand cramps means you focus on the fun and not the grip. A must buy in my book. And now even better with Pacman.
