Indie developer Four Horses has confirmed that it is bringing Kid Tripp to the Nintendo Switch alongside the Nintendo 3DS.
The retro-style platformer was released on the iOS App Store a short time ago, and is from the same studio that produced Digger Dan DX on 3DS.
Here's what Four Horses told us:
Lovingly recreated pixel by pixel, the Switch version will have all the levels from the original game with new control methods alongside the original "Hardcore" control mode for those who really like to challenge themselves.
Given that it's going to hit both systems, which one will you be picking up?

Awesome news!
I'm buying on Switch because I've never played Kid Tripp before
Is this an endless runner?
Negative for me. Looks like a harder Super Mario Run and that is not a good thing.
@brandonbwii It is an autorunner, but level based - not endless.
Cool. Having previously played it on iOS, I'm definitely down with Kid Tripp for Switch
Sorry but def not the reason why I bought a Switch and not my type of game. Wouldnt even consider if free.
Isn't this pixelman's game?
@Meowpheel Yes, totally. In fine Pixelman tradition, I've taken so long with the conversion, there's a new Nintendo console to put the game on!
@ImDiggerDan wait what how You're pixelman?!
Haha that was... Unexpected!
Looks fun! I'll consider getting it on 3DS.
@Meowpheel No, ImDiggerDan! Two different people, but working together on these versions of his original game.
@ImDiggerDan oh ok that makes sense! ha.
Awesome!! Getting it on Switch.
This looks really cool. It's strange to see visuals that look like they could have originally been on a tiny mobile phone screen but now zoomed up onto a full-sized screen--weird but kinda cool.
Edit: Ah, it's an auto-runner. I thought it was a traditional platformer. It could have been so cool as a traditional platformer.
When does this release? Looks cool.
@Dang69 Can't really say as it depends on things out of our control, but we are hoping for this year!
Great game by a great guy, one of our own, in fact. Not sure if this is your first time getting on a Nintendo platform, but it must be exciting nonetheless, so congrats, Pixelman. I don't have an iDevice anymore, so I'll be buying this again. Looking forward to that Zelda 2-based game we talked about a lifetime ago.
No thanks
Thanks @Adam! This is indeed my first game on a Nintendo console — hopefully the first of many!
Super exciting stuff. Huge thanks to @ImDiggerDan for making it happen.
Is it an autorunner? Or regular platformer?
Not really interested if at all it is is an auto Runner
I dunno, I can't shake the feeling that something bad would happen if I bought a game from a company called "The Four Horses." Especially after what happened last summer...
@ImDiggerDan, Make sure you test that game rigorously. There better be less than 20% apocrypha lurking within its codex, or I'm asking for my money (and soul) back.
I think there'll be something satisfying about seeing chunky pixels like these on the Switch's screen. Looks fun enough for a fiver.
@ToneDeath - A fiver? No no no no no. It will not cost a fiver! You'll be able to buy both versions for that. Sorry, no cross-buy, it isn't supported 3DS to Switch.
@CanisWolfred You are safe, it is Four Horses, not The Four Horses. They are completely unaffiliated with any harbingers of doom/the end of the world.
Is the guy playing in this trailer doing a speedrun or something?
Congrats again @thatpixelguy and @ImDiggerDan! I'll def be picking this up on Switch!
(would love to see Miles & Kilo hit Switch too ;P )
@ImDiggerDan But how many horses does it take to change the lightbulb?
@CanisWolfred Four. One to hold the ladder, one to remove the dead bulb, one to put the new bulb in and one to glue it in place.
Extra meh. Do they charge money for this? Or is it free?
