Re: Blatant Splatoon Mobile Rip-Off Has Resurfaced in China

@SarahMarieFiren You don't want to play this, trust me. It's pretty terrible. It plays as bad as it looks like it plays. In the time since I last heard anything about this game they don't seem to have really improved anything...just taken out some of the more blatant copying.

@Mopati Also, on the music...there's clearly bits of Splatoon music in there. Or at least the main riff from Splattack in there, making the song sound like a weird off-key remix of Splattack (also the numbers filed off version of 'Now or Never' and the music from the results screen when you lose at the end there lol).

@NESguy94 Fair enough, I don't mean anything bad to people who create emulators, I'm just inclined to believe that this is the speed it's supposed to run at is all.

@SKTTR They cut it some time before this final version. Dylan Cuthbert gave a reason but I forget what it was (performance I think?). IIRC the version that has it is the ROM you might find floating around usually called the 'alpha' version.

Re: Official Hori Nintendo Switch Micro SD Cards Set a Handy Benchmark

Doesn't really matter what Hori thinks they can charge since you have so many other, better options (I just bought a card that holds significantly more and is slightly faster for the price of their 16 GB card).

This is why I'm glad they went with SD (unlike Sony and the Vita). If you don't like the prices from one company there are plenty of other good choices.

Re: Review: Gotta Protectors (3DS eShop)

I've had it for a while, I'd like to echo that it is indeed a really good game. I've been having a lot of fun with it. By the way, I'm surprised this wasn't mentioned, but the game has DLC. You really don't NEED it, the game has more than enough content as is, but it's kind of interesting.

It gives you an optional FM music pack (that's to say, new mixes for the music that use something sounding like the PC-98 or Sega Genesis instead of something NES sounding), gives you a super hard pack of levels called Armageddon, and strangely makes it so you can change classes at the castle on each map which is very useful if you're playing single player. Again this is all one bit of DLC.

Re: Review: TAP TAP ARCADE 2 (Wii U eShop)

I really wish RCMadiax would stop. Just...please stop. Go make something that's actually good. The Letter is better than this, and that game is terrible. At least I feel like the developer tried there even if the results are pretty awful.

Re: Review: AVOIDER (Wii U eShop)

9th_Sage

I don't know...I wish he'd put more polish on his games, or flesh them out more, or something. Some of RCMADIAX's stuff does have interesting ideas, I feel like he could do something really cool, but instead it's something like this that seems like it would get old really quick because there's really very little to the game.

Re: The Next Nintendo Direct is on 12th November

9th_Sage

@jariw not only that, but Nikki said there was something weird about the last actual software update...apparently it should have been larger than it was, but some of it wasn't pushed to consoles. The only reason I could think that they'd do that is so that certain people don't 'spoil' something coming down the pipe.

Re: Some Western Splatoon Players Would Prefer Not To Compete With Japan

9th_Sage

There sure is a lot of whining about it...I personally think most people are just using Japanese players as a scapegoat because they did bad in their match. There are occasions where there's lag, sure, but most of the time it's not so in my experience (and certainly not more than when I'm playing with American players or someone else who isn't Japanese).

Re: The Piracy of amiibo Now Seems Possible With the 'amiiqo' Device

9th_Sage

If they include Amiibo data with it like they say they are, surely they're going to be sued into oblivion. I do see the value in backing up your figures (well, I would if more games needed to store data on 'em anyway). I suppose that most of the people who would buy this probably wouldn't have bought the Amiibo anyway though...I mean, don't most people want them for the figure itself too?

Re: Feature: The Full Story Behind Star Fox 2, Nintendo's Most Famous Cancellation

9th_Sage

That's really interesting....the 'mostly complete' version that eventually did get leaked is pretty awesome (my compliments to everyone involved, it's understandable why it never came out, but boy it's a shame because the game is pretty excellent). Cool that there really DOES exist a fully completed version.... I doubt it would happen, but wouldn't that be a great way to drum up excitement for Starfox on the WiiU?
