We're used to new content arriving in Splatoon every Friday / Saturday, depending on time zones, serving as a nice start to our weekends. Nintendo has different plans this week, however.
Nintendo of Europe has tweeted confirmation that we'll receive a new weapon early this week, arriving Wednesday morning (11th November). Assuming it's the usual global roll-out we should be able to expect that to arrive late in the evening of 10th November in North America.
As for what the weapon is, it's the 'Neo Sploosh-o-matic', which is rocking a rather cool design.
Are you looking forward to trying this weapon out, and hopeful that the early release points to something a little different in the standard end-of-week Splatoon update window? Let us know in the comments.

I haven't played Splatoon for weeks now! I've played it every single day, multiple times a day, this summer. I haven't picked up any weapons since then, didn't take part in the last two Splatfests. I have no desires to return to it currently. I think I'm just burned out with its overall experience.
Nintendo Direct confirmed ()Friday with new Splatoon contents rolling this weekend.
I'd love to see a sizeable update sometime before Christmas - maybe a few new maps and another game mode, and I think it's pretty crazy that the rotation has not already been increased to 3 maps per game mode. I'm pretty sick of playing the same map 4, 5 or more times in a row. Still an utterly brilliant game though, am still playing almost everyday.
I play Splatoon everyday! but still on my mg weapon!
Maybe there finally WILL be that Nintendo Direct (very weird that they're changing their procedure this week). Nikki is probably having a field day with this news.
Read the title, thought 'Nintendo Direct confirmed'.
Well...according to a guy who knows someone who knows a guy who works at Nintendo....a Direct is coming on the 12th. It is full of random goodness and will make everyone happy except for all the people who will complain. Part of the rumor is Splatoon DLC so maybe the early weapon release points to special DLC coming.....or maybe mid week makes more sense then Friday
@Gerbwmu I hope you're right Personally, I would like some more single player levels as DLC because I loved that mode, had me hooked.
What are the sub weapons for this?
I kind of wish they had taken all the effort they've put into releasing all of these gun clones to make some new modes instead. Ranked is just too stressful for me so I rarely play it, but I'm kind of tired of turf wars.
@grumblebuzzz i totally agree. Every time I see these articles I wonder jow many people really care. I love the game and I just ignore the new weapons....but then I can only play it at certain times (when the mode I want to play is on) and even then it's only 2 maps. So much wasted effort with these weapons imo.
I'm more of a bucket head. But I will eventually try this out because I enjoy giving all of the weapons a try.
The killer wail is harder to successfully pull off in the current meta but the beacons are a must!
The main appeal of this weapon was the squid beakons it came with, when you remove that then you just get a weapon that has less range than an Aerospray which is pretty meh tbh.
@Gerbwmu, @gcunit, @9th_Sage, @Splatburst: you were all so very correct!
@jariw things are looking good so far! We'll see what happens.
Come on, I need the Bamboozler MK II already
Hopefully this is the only Splatoon content we'll see this week. Unless it's Octolings, I really don't want to hear about it on Thursday's Direct.
@uhhhhhhhh I only know the special. Not 100% certain, but I think it's kraken.
@ShadeBurn67 Octolings would be cool. But I really just want to see another ranked mode. I'm getting a little bored of just the 3. Not to mention, you know by looking at the maps what game mode it is going to be. I don't get why they don't rotate them better.
