Re: Talking Point: ARMS Has Plenty to Prove In Its Nintendo Direct

19Robb92

Can't say I'm all that excited, I'll watch it later so that I can skip all the potentially boring segments.

As of right now the promise of a Splatoon 2 trailer excites me more than anything ARMS related to be honest.

I really hope they decide to release a demo of ARMS at some point. It definitely looks like a game you have experience to know if you like it or not.

Re: SuperData Says Nintendo Sold 2.4 Million Switch Consoles Worldwide in March

A solid start, better than I expected personally. Now they have to keep momentum.

I do think they're in a better position this time than with the WiiU though. They have room for a price drop if necessary and they have games like Mario Kart coming already. Not to mention their advertising have been a lot more on-point.

Hoping for the best. But right now it's almost impossible to tell how it'll do in the long run.

Re: The Switch Is The Fastest-Selling Video Game System In Nintendo History

Good for Nintendo, I hope they can keep up momentum. The holiday season will be the most interesting.

I'm very curious what the global a sales are.

@Yasume
I can only speak for Sweden, but over here it's sold out everywhere in the major cities. It caught me off guard tbh, I'm not used to having to actively look around for a system.

Re: ARM Confirms That The Nintendo Switch's Chipset Is Very Close To Tegra X1 Spec

19Robb92

This is good or bad news depending on what kind of product Nintendo wants to sell. If it's intended as a handheld, this is a huge step above the 3DS. If it's intended as a home console, this is a marginal upgrade from WiiU.

Considering Nintendo is marketing the Switch as a home console, I'd say this is bad news and it'll most likely affect 3rd part support down the line.

Edit: I very much doubt this will have any effect on the system failing or not, as some seem to think. The main draw of the Switch isn't the processing power, it's the flexibility of being both a portable and home console. If that's something people want it'll sell, if not it'll fail - no matter if there's tegra or pascal on the inside.

Re: Tatsumi Kimishima Talks About a Potential 3DS Successor

@JaxonH
Well, they have certainly not convinced me of that. If they split development between two systems, it's bound to happen sooner or later (assuming a continued lack of 3rd party support).

I was hoping we'd get mainline Pokemon games etc. on the Switch. That seems less probable if they plan on making another dedicated handheld.

Re: Nintendo Appears at Apple Conference to Announce Super Mario Run

19Robb92

It is very sad to see this type of game being the debut title from gaming's biggest mascot... Could they seriously not come up with literally anything that haven't been done to death on cellphones?

I was actually looking forward to seeing what they'd come up with for a Mario title on mobile. I'm very disappointed right now.. :/

Re: Rumour: More Sources Highlight NX Controller 'Gimmick' and a Major Game Project

19Robb92

Well, first off the specs sound a bit too good to be true alongside another screen controller considering Nintendo's usual pricing structure.

Personally, I would prefer not getting another screen controller. But I will wait and see what it looks like. Could be good if they improve it enough.

I won't be buying this at launch though. I'll probably wait a year and see if it bombs or not.

Re: Minecraft Wii U Edition Has Been Rated By PEGI

@SanderEvers
Sure, even so, that would be disappointing. Big "surprises" usually take a lot of time in these shows. I don't want to sit through 10 minutes watching a 4-year-old game being showed off. There are so many other (and better) things they could spend that time on, assuming this is indeed a Nintendo Direct announcement.

Re: Review: Mario & Luigi: Partners In Time (Wii U eShop / DS)

19Robb92

Great game, but definitely the worst in the series, IMO. Time travel is a boring gimmick and the "Shroobs" were a boring enemy with no personality at all. Not to mention that the babies were more of an annoyance than a fun mechanic. Hopefully Paper Mario will be more fun in the upcoming "Paper Jam".

Around 7-8 seems like an adequate score.

Re: Review: The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D (3DS)

19Robb92

@Nintendofan83
The "C-stick" was available well before the New 3DS in the form of the Circle Pad Pro.

The improved 3D is only a hardware upgrade, the games themselves have nothing to do with it.

This game does not make use of the improved CPU. It runs at the same frame-rate as OOT:3D, has the same visual upgrade and less content.

So the game itself doesn't really add any of those features.

Re: Review: The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D (3DS)

@Nico07
You don't need change per-se. Additional content would have been enough. That is a very easy way to increase the greatness of an already great game without changing the game itself.

In my opinion they should have included a Master Quest/New Game+ or/and a boss rush mode etc. etc.

All in all, this game is worse value for the money than Ocarina of Time 3D was, which is something of a downgrade to me. A sequel should improve, so a 10/10 seems too high to me.

Re: Sakurai Explains Why Ridley Is Not A Playable Fighter In Super Smash Bros.

19Robb92

Eh.. That makes no sense.

If he were to apply what he says he is trying to apply (accurate portrayals of characters), Captain Olimar should have a height of 1.9cm (0.75 inches). So practically the height of Mario's shoe. Instead he is taller than Kirby.

Going further, they gave Zero Suit Samus boost heels, which isn't part of any Metroid game featuring Zero Suit Samus.

And why is the Duck Hunt Dog and Duck suddenly friends? That goes against the whole point of the game where the dog is supposed to hunt the ducks. Makes no sense for the portrayal of neither the duck nor the dog.

etc.
etc.

Sometimes I wonder if Sakurai just say things to calm a certain audience and skips the actual reasoning behind decisions.
