Re: You Won't Be Able To Download L.A. Noire Without A MicroSD Card

That's too bad, I won't be buying it in that case.

@MarcelRguez
Well.. Yeah. However, the costs are a lot higher in this case. Considering it's estimated to cost a publisher 60% more to use a 32GB cart compared to the cost of using a 50GB BluRay disc on other systems, this development isn't all that surprising. An additional cost of sixty percent per game is a lot, especially once it's aggreagated.

With that said, this is still a really crappy thing to do and I won't support it.

Re: Pokémon Boss Didn't Think Switch Would Be A Success In The Age Of The Smartphone

Well, he obviously wasn't alone in thinking that. Seems like most people (me included) and even Nintendo themselves were surprised to see the Switch do as well as it did/is doing (both commercially and in terms of pure sales).

@-Green-
Not really. A lot has changed since the original DS (and even 3DS) was introduced, I mean, Ipad's and Iphone's didn't even exist back then which are products that have paved the way for a multitude of other- and simliar product to flood the market ever since.

We are in a very very different marketplace now compared to back then.

Re: The Inkbrush Will Kick Off Splatoon 2's Free Additions on Launch Weekend

@Proust
That's a bad analogy since you obviously purchase the bottle in the store, just like you purchase the game case alongside the cartridge if you buy Splatoon 2 in a store.

It's more like buying a 50cl bottle of Coke that contains 25cl and then you receive the remaining 25cl "for free" over time.

I'll also add that I don't think this is stupid at all. One reason I personally bought this game is because I like that they spread out "free" updates like these and that I want to be a part of it from the get-go. It keeps me coming back to the game and keeps things interesting over longer periods of time. They could obviously include all the things they have planned as updates on the cartridge day one, and I get that some people prefer that. But I think the game would stagnate pretty fast if that was the case. With these updates the meta will change over time and keep the game fresh.

Re: Nintendo Switch Parental Controls App Gets a Neat Update

Heh, I initially read "suppressing your child's gaming experience have never been easier!" In the image.

Anyway, nice update, I like being able to track my playtime like this. But it'd be more convenient if it was included on the system itself, rather than in an app (or at the very least available on both).

Re: Nintendo Switch Sales Surge Past A Million In Japan

19Robb92

That is really good news considering the falling trend in demand for consoles in Japan.

@Agent721
True. However, Europe as a whole is most definitely a very important market for Nintendo, more so than Japan. It usually makes up more than one third of their systems lifetime sales.

Re: Nintendo Infographic Outlines Switch and 3DS Games for 2017

19Robb92

That is one hell of a first party lineup for the systems first year. You hardly ever see this many must have titles the first year, gotta give Nintendo credit for that.

It's just very unfortunate that they lack major 3rd party support. It makes this list look pretty sparse to be honest. Imagine that infograph alongside all the same (or at least an equal amount of) 3rd party games as PS4/XBONE.

Re: Press Release Suggests E3 Nintendo Spotlight Will be About 30 Minutes

19Robb92

Well, they have said that their focus will be on games we already know about so that seems reasonable. I would assume maybe one or two new games will be revealed (one of which will be the Mario/Rabids crossover that already leaked).

My expectations are fairly low regarding new announcements, but I'm very much looking forward to new trailers for Xenoblade 2 and Mario.

Re: FIFA 18 Gets Reveal Trailer That Suggests Missing Features for Nintendo Switch

19Robb92

Well, it comes down to it either being a lazy effort or that the Switch can't handle the engine.

Considering they actively chose to leave out an entire mode, the latter is the obvious contender.

I have no doubt the Frostbite engine is scalable. Considering the Switch can run UE4, it should most definitely be able to handle a down-scaled version of Frostbite.

Either way, it's sad news for Nintendo since the people who will end up feeling "cheated" by purchasing this inferior version (which I am sure will be priced just as high as the other versions) will most likely blame Nintendo for it rather than EA.

On the other hand, it's Nintendo's job to make sure they get good 3rd party support on their systems ,so they only have themselves to blame. It mainly sucks for their customers.

Re: New Splatoon 2 Switch Accessories And Hardware Bundle Announced

Cool, I like the Joy-cons.

The pro-controller is kinda ugly though. They should have kept the handles black, that would have looked a lot better. To be honest, I find it really weird that the handles are colored and the splat marks are black.. The opposite would have made a lot more sense to me.
