If you're a YouTube fan that enjoys rather friendly and accessible baking videos, there's a pretty good chance that you know about Rosanna Pansino — she has nearly three million subscribers and we previously covered a Cooking Mama 5 video of hers.
Pansino has now posted a Nintendo-themed video in which she makes Mario Kart 8 Koopa Shell Cake Pops, which seem to be balls of cake on a stick. They look tasty, though, and make for convincing Koopa Shells.
That's pleasant enough, but in the latter half of the video Shigeru Miyamoto and Bill Trinen drop in to take a look and pitch some current and future releases on Wii U and 3DS. If the 'Nerdy Nummies' name didn't tip you off, Pansino seems to be a genuine Nintendo fan and becomes a little starstruck; most would be if Miyamoto-san popped into their kitchen.
It's a rather sweet video, even if it is a bit of a commercial at some points. If Miyamoto-san and Mr Trinen ever want to pop around Nintendo Life HQ for Nintendo themed cakes and a game of Mario Kart, the door is always open...

Yum :3
I can stand about 10 seconds of her voice. Had to skip ahead lol.
I want some of those. Cake pops are awesome!
I get the feeling the NL staff members are obsessed with cake.
I would have fainted if Miyamoto-sensei just walked into my kitchen. Those pops look tasty.
Splatoon hype!
Love her show
That Blue Shell looks really uncomfortable to eat... I can see why she gave it to Bill Trinen.
@Xiao_Pai Get the feeling NL staff are obsessed with female youtubers xD
If you look you notice that Miyamoto keeps eying up the cake shells. He REALLY wanted one.
Ok so the video was a bit tough to get through, but seriously the end was great. Just think how fun it would really be to sit causally down to play some MK8 with these two! Yeah that might be something for a bucket list.
Love Ro's stuff. My wife's been trying her darnedest to emulate her, but she doesn't have the experience or equipment Rosanna has. Still, always great and she couldn't have had a better guest!
She talks like FLUDD... I cant quite figure out what accent that is.
Still, fun stuff! Though I am about as useless in the kitchen as any one can be. I am impressed by her creativity, but also her ability not to shout "FFS MAKE FZERO" at the Nintendo execs in front of her.
Man, I wish I could hang out with Mr. Miyamoto like that! #Legend
The only question I have is: What is Miyamoto doing in the US right now? He wasn't at The Game Awards 9 days ago, AFAIK. An upcoming Nintendo Direct or Nintendo Minute with Miyamoto in the studio?
Ah... Miyamoto, Iwata, Reggie, Miyamoto as well as other execs in my house playing MK8 and Smash Bros..... DREAM!
On topic, It's weird seeing chocolate of different colors... does that make it chocolate?
They should go on the Completionist!!! Or PBG.
The interaction felt cringy to me.
Hmm delicious.
cake pops are not manly
@MacMan Yeah i can't watch Ro's videos without getting hungry! it's a real problem
M-M-m-Miyamoto san?! WHAT A SCOOP!!! (food puns)
I cannot get over how amazing it is to see the original video game auteur, the inventor of modern video games, on one of my favourite Youtube shows!
I want Miyamoto's t-shirts!
How many other game developers would take the time to meet with a fan, sign a 3DS and give it to them, then sit down and play video games with them at their house?
Jus sayin. This is why I cannot help but feel compassion for Miamoto and Nintendo's top brass,
Oh my gosh! I think I would have died and gone to gamer girl heaven. Definitely jealous of her right now. That was amazing. And I'm not talking about the chocolate (though that was pretty sweet too).
If she was as much of a gamer Mario zelda fan as she said you'd think she would know half of that news they shared!
too much work.
@JaxonH i absolutely agree my friend…i appreciate all game developers but Nintendo is something truly special
those look really nice. and ALSO I'm I the only one thinking a 30th anniversary Super Mario Bros thing as a Platinum reward? or I'm I think to positive?
That was sweet.
ba doom cha!
I'm here all night folks!
(Seriously, though it was sweet. )
@StitchScout
Unfortunately the Platinum reward is usually worth about $10-$15 and I can see Mario Maker retailing for $30+, but you never know.
@Mikau94 I was thinking more of a small statue like an 8-bit Mario or a poster.
@StitchScout
I think that's reasonable.
@WaveyChristmas @aronatvw You guys know what advertising is, right? She probably knows all that stuff beforehand, but she had to "play dumb" for Miyamoto and Trinen's "explanation".
And something you guys should never forget: there are people out there who have no clue when it comes to game announcements. She's, for a starter, showing these to them. So, yeah, you've criticized her over nothing.
His pockets. His pockets are so magical.
@MagusDiablo I'm probably overgeneralizing here, but i think it's safe to assume that the majority who watches Ro are young people. Young people who ironically think they're too old for Nintendo ("those are baby's toys!"). I think it's cool to get some Nintendo exposure to those who wouldn't care otherwise. Even with so many hacky popular channels (cough*pewdiepie*cough) he chose the less popular but lovely Ro! Blatant advertisement sure, Miyamoto wouldn't show up at any house for no reason, but still super awesome!
@whodatninja Yeah, I completely agree. By choosing Ro, Nintendo ended up doing GREAT advertisement.
Well, at least on my book.
@OneBagTravel Hahaha same. She sounds really pretentious or something worse, I can't put my finger on it.
well I have to say I'm now a fan. I'll be checking out some of her other vids for some baking ideas.
Green is not a creative color.
The PR tour continues on Youtube continues! Good Nintendo keep it up!
