Re: Review: Fire Emblem: Mystery Of The Emblem (SNES)

@JaxonH I like getting all the characters so I will try to get them all and some of the children characters are interesting. I also rather like the recruitment chapters since many of them vary in different ways. My favourite kind of FE chapters are defend ones so I enjoyed playing through ones like Soleil's and Kana's.

@JaxonH I personally don't mind the marriage mechanic in FE 4/Awakening, but I'm not really a fan of it in Fates for several reasons. In both 4 and Awakening it mainly ties into the story and makes sense overall, but it just feels tacked on in Fates to me and just seems weird with the whole Deeprealm and fast aging. Another thing I kind of hate is that in order to get all characters in a version as a male avatar, you will need to marry a child character or a different character who can't marry other units that have children. (I didn't realize that at first so I missed out on a character in my first play through)

In regards to the game overall, I still have some other complaints, but I have enjoyed it for the most part.

@Blastcorp64 So the first game in the series (Dark Dragon and the Sword of Light) got remade for the SNES (this game) which also included a sequel which is why there is a Book 1 and 2 to it.
Later Shadow Dragon came out in all regions which is a remake of the original game and doesn't include the sequel. New Mystery of the Emblem was later released, but only in Japan. This game is a remake of Book 2 of Mystery of the Emblem.

I haven't played this game, but I did get New Mystery of the Emblem from a trip to Japan and I have enjoyed it quite a bit. This is the only Japanese FE game that I don't have on VC, mainly because I already own the remakes. (Got Dark Dragon and Sword of Light because it is currently 50% off)

Re: Review: Fire Emblem Fates (3DS)

I haven't been able to get my hands on the special edition so I think I'll probably just get conquest and buy revelations. Still kind of disappointed that I would have to pay for all three versions due to how much this game will be all together, but I think I'll be fine with just two of them. This time around I don't have any plans on getting any DLC though.

@OorWullie I'm not sure about Europe, but it looks like they start at different times, but will intersect with eachother.
NA's will start on the 20th at 1am EST while Japan's will start a little earlier on the 19th at 4pm EST.
(If I got the time zone conversions right)

@antdickens thanks! I also just sent an email about some bugs/problems I've noticed in the forums (and also mentioned the part about the desktop version before I noticed your reply).

I've never liked mobile sites, but I think the desktop version looks pretty good.

Re: Feature: The Biggest Wii U Games of 2016

As a Star Fox fan, I'm really looking forward to Zero and hoping it turns out well. I'm also a big Zelda fan so of course I'm looking forward to it. I really hope more people actually give Gen'ei Ibunroku #FE a shot, there has been almost nothing but hate for it recently. I gave it a shot as a Fire Emblem fan and absolutely love it! There is just so much that I enjoy from it and I will be posting my thoughts soon in the SMTxFE forum.

I haven't been keeping up a whole lot on AGDQ, but I do watch Panga fairly often and was curious when I noticed some of his streams were practices for it. It will be interesting to see them go through some of the courses made in Mario Maker. From the ones I've seen so far, I think a lot will be kaizo-like courses.

Re: Hitoshi Yamagami Talks a Bit About Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem's Conception

I'm not really much of a fan of most RPG's aside from FE (but I'm starting to think that it's just because I haven't played very many), but I'm willing to give this a shot. It's not the game I necessarily wanted (I was hoping for it to play like FE more at first), but I think it looks kind of interesting still.

I don't think I would be interested in this at all to be honest if it wasn't Fire Emblem related.

Re: Digital Foundry Gives a Thumbs Up to FAST Racing NEO

I'm loving this game a lot so far. I have had one instance of frame rate drops though. On a Hero mode run, while I was boosting a bunch of CPU's crashed into the fan on Scorpio Circuit haha. It was rather interesting and surprising to see that. Aside from that moment, there weren't any other drops in the framerate that I noticed.

Re: Video: Splatoon Gets the Did You Know Gaming? Treatment

@Maxz ya that's what I was thinking, I'm pretty sure the link to "The Dream of the Fisherman's Wife" is just a coincidence.

@shani Most of it did seem pretty obvious, I have the Japanese version so I knew the Japanese names. (I always forget the English name for the sharp/bold markers because of that haha)
Speaking of the game theory, I found it interesting with the rainmaker link, especially since I stayed in Nagoya on exchange. Although the inkopolis link seemed obvious to me since it was pretty much confirmed through the sunken scrolls.

Re: EA CFO Explains Why the Company Doesn't Make Wii U Games Anymore

yokokazuo

I understand why they did and Ubisoft pretty much did the same too aside from Just Dance, but I wish they didn't just completely abandon it. There are some games that I've been interested in (I enjoyed the FIFA demo), but they are still the same price and haven't gone down or had any sales in forever. Ubisoft and other companies do price drops and have had sales which led me to get games like ZombiU, Rayman Legends, Assassin's Creed IV and Splintercell Blacklist.
If they did some sales then I would be a little okay with the situation and I would have already owned at least a couple of their games.

Re: Feature: Our Top 10 Wii U Retail Games - Third Anniversary Edition

yokokazuo

I think Tropical Freeze is still my favourite, my top ten would probably be:
1. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
2. Splatoon
3. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
4. Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
5. Wii Party U
6. Mario Kart 8
7. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD
8. New Super Mario Bros. U
9. Nintendoland
10. Hyrule Warriors

Some of the games I listed like Wii Party U are a lot of fun when playing with a group of friends, but DKCTF is still my favourite (single or co-op).

Honourable mentions are Pikmin, Mario Maker, ZombiU, W101, SM3DW.
