Re: Nexomon: Extinction Update Adds New Items And Glitch Fixes - Version 1.0.6 Patch Notes

tsdenizen

It's a really solid game. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of Pokemon and it won't win any originality contests, but the campaign itself is better than any Pokemon campaign since gen 5. Good writing, open routes and a lot of freedom in moving around early, solid bosses (the Tyrants are way more fun than recent gyms). Plus the devs respond well to critique and have plans for free DLC. If that makes you "angry", you kinda suck, sorry to say.

Re: Talking Point: Are You Suffering From Animal Crossing: New Horizons Fatigue?

tsdenizen

I've done all the May sensitive stuff, so I'm really just popping in to check shops and talk to villagers right now. It's gonna ebb and flow when new stuff comes in. I'll be obsessed with the new fish and bugs next month, get my Wedding Season stuff, then it'll calm down again. Regular long session have died down, but still wanna play each day.

Re: Famitsu Poll Reveals Readers' Favourite Fire Emblem Games

tsdenizen

Generally makes sense even if I don't fully agree.

Three Houses took the crown from Genealogy but a remake could see it claim it back. Other than that, Blazing Blade probably deserves a spot, Awakening and Mystery not so much. Swap 'em for Path of Radiance and Thracia 776.

Re: Animal Crossing: New Horizons Hackers Are Making Star Fragment Trees

tsdenizen

Cheating is a weird thing to talk about in AC because it's not competitive in any way, but making use of things like TTing, dupe glitches, and hacking completely imbalance the trade economy, making it much more difficult for players who don't engage in those things to participate on a fair playing field. If you duped thousands of NMTs at the beginning of the game, 150 for a Great Statue is nothing: it's astronomical for others.

Re: Japanese Charts: Animal Crossing: New Horizons Surpasses 4 Million Boxed Sales In Japan Alone

tsdenizen

Holy crap, AC: NH is gonna end up a 30 million+ worldwide seller by the end of the Switch life cycle, huh? As if it wasn't crazy enough how fast it sold to start, the momentum is still strong as hell and we haven't even seen most of the game's updates or the inevitable onslaught of merchandising after Nintendo saw the early numbers. We could be looking at a Pokemon-in-the-90s type phenomenon here.

Re: Video: Nintendo Would Like To Remind You That 2DS Exists This Christmas

tsdenizen

It's really not that much effort, and if holiday season is rolling around, why wouldn't you try to sell an $80 handheld with a massive library of great games? 3DS support is clearly slowed and the only game I was bummed was 3DS only was WarioWare Gold (which realistically wouldn't even work on Switch). I mostly play my Switch, but my 3DS still gets play and it's still a great alternative for families who can't drop Switch money. I know I was poor as hell growing up and the $80 2DS would've rocked my world.

Re: Pokémon Let's Go Might Be The Final Time Junichi Masuda Directs The Main Series

tsdenizen

Masuda has had some good ideas over the years, and I am getting Let's Go. But good. Considering just how much better Black 2/White 2 were than Black/White, and Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon better than Sun/Moon, the rookie teams, while not perfect, are still showing much more ambition. Black 2/White 2 in particular were awesome and I'm still waiting for another Pokemon with that many fun features, difficulty levels, and an achievement system.

Re: Bubsy The Bobcat Brings His Next Adventure To The Nintendo Switch In 2019

tsdenizen

@retro_player_22 I guess it was the Genesis version, my mistake. Still, even with the Genesis version of Pit-Fighter (which is better), you seriously think it's anything close to a masterpiece? You're fine to like Bubsy, it's not an issue. I spent a stupid amount of money on the Night Trap Collector's Edition. We've both got our quirks. But you're not going to convince anyone who's played the old games that they're good just by saying old magazines scored them well and our hardware must be broken.

Re: Bubsy The Bobcat Brings His Next Adventure To The Nintendo Switch In 2019

tsdenizen

@retro_player_22 How can a game be bad when two really old reviews during the most incestuous period of game publisher/gaming magazine relations said it was good? Really? I'll grant that Bubsy 1 and 2 are not AS bad as Bubsy 3D, but those scores are massively inflated. They're still really annoying and kinda play like ass. GamePro gave the SNES version of Pit-Fighter a perfect score back in the day. Publications were transparently completely full of it back in the day.

Re: Bethesda Confirms It Won't Be Bringing Fallout 76 To The Nintendo Switch

tsdenizen

To the few of you who assume not caring about Fallout 76 not being on the Switch is a lie of jealousy, I seriously DO NOT CARE. I appreciate Doom on the system and I'm looking forward to Doom: Eternal, but if Fallout 4 is any indication (not to mention the statement by Bethesda about how broken 76 is going to be at launch and they're relying on their customers to do free alpha testing for them), 76 is going to be hot swamp ass.

Re: Random: DuckTales Artist Creates Hauntingly Good Castlevania Mash-Up Tribute

tsdenizen

@YoshiAngemon not impossible, but unlikely. One, there are other, bigger NES games that have versions on Switch outside of NSO, so having those but holding off on Disney Afternoon because games were coming to NSO doesn't make much sense. Beyond that, in order to have it make sense to not put the collection on the system, they'd have to do all six games, with updated features, for free. That doesn't make sense from a business perspective when the Disney Afternoon Collection port would be less work for more money. I think it's a lot more likely that we see the collection ported next year than seeing any of the games on NSO, and even then, I'd say the port is a 50-50 chance.
