@TheLilK98 I'd say the fact that the development team is happy with how this turned out shows that it is quite impossible for them to have dropped the ball with this game.
@Haru17 I didn't think SS and ALBW were underwhelming! I loved them. Anyway, how about we agree to disagree? I love both Zelda and Xenoblade. You love Zelda and hate Xenoblade. While I don't understand how anybody couldn't at least appreciate Xenoblade, I'll respect that your opinion is different than mine.
Why are people wanting British voice acting? I mean I get that the first game's VAs were good. But it would make absolutely no sense to have British guys talking in an American city-ship thing. I'm with everybody that says they should have many different accents and cultures. After all, modern LA is a melting pot just like NY. And it would make sense in the "people of Earth gathering to escape" plot.
@Haru17 Umm yes, Zelda is my favorite video game franchise. See my name?
And I wasn't talking about dungeon design, since XC doesn't have dungeons, or at least what most people would consider dungeons. I was talking about world design. I would rather explore XC's fantastically imaginative world than Zelda's fire area, wood area, water area, etc. for the 17th time. I still love Zelda and Zelda Wii U is my 2nd most anticipated game of this year. It looks absolutely fantastic. But XC blows any Zelda game out of the water imo.
Can't wait! I have faith in NoA to bring it over here sooner than most people think. I'm thinking maybe late June/early July. And also I have full confidence that Zelda will be out this year. Aonuma reiterated like 3 times in the gameplay footage that the game would be out in 2015.
@Haru17 Don't worry. XCX will absolutely eclipse Zelda in world design, story, and music. Zelda will probably take the cake for art and graphics, but everything else XCX will certainly be better in. I know from having played the first XC for 120 hours and it being better imo than any Zelda game I had ever played. Also about the "MMO gameplay", it's a matter of preference. Some people loved it like me and some hated it. You're probably one of those people that played it for an hour and hated it. I played it and for the first 4 or 5 hours I didn't like it. But as I got the hang of it, I started loving it, and now it's one of my favorite battle systems.
Well with Xenblade Chronicles X's script apparently being much longer than XC's, I'll definitely be spending probably 200+ hours on that game. And Xenoblade Chronicles X is all I care about right now. I mean, sure, I love Zelda(my favorite series) and I'm definitely excited for Zelda U, but it doesn't even compare to my hype for XCX.
BY FAR the best game of the direct and one of the only good parts really.
All negativity towards the direct aside, I cannot wait to explore all of this. I spent 140 hours absorbing the world of the original, and I would be surprised if I didn't spend 200+ hrs on this one!!
Seeing as I'm a HUUUGE Zelda fan, the fact that I'm hardly excited about Zelda Wii U compared to how excited I am for Xenoblade Chronicles X just goes to show how hyped I am for that game. And I am super excited for Zelda. But sorry, XCX is my dream game.
Oh come people. Sakurai already said that he purposefully makes the characters unbalanced. If all the characters were balanced it would be boring and there would be no reason to select one character over another other than that you might like that character better.
When they said the world would be vast I wasn't expecting it to be THIS vast! That whole valley Link is looking out over when he set the beacon is like a 12th of the entire map size! Also hopefully there will be sea exploration too! My hype is beyond healthy right now!
@Peach64 I don't know. From what I've seen, a loooooot of people are waiting for Zelda to buy a Wii U. I think Zelda will move quite a lot of units. Probably not as many as MK or SSB you're right. But still, I think Zelda could potentially sell more Wii U's than either of those two. And of course, Xenoblade is a very niche title already due to it's genre so it probably won't sell many Wii U's.
"Oh, and if you like the series’ musical offering, you’ll be glad to know that the list of available tracks in Sound Test will make your jaw hit the floor when you see it — this feature alone distracted us for more time than we’re willing to admit!" My ears are ready!
@Prime Haha I live in Florida! I wouldn't mind meeting him and being able to thank him for directing the series I've spent more time on than any other.
@MoonKnight7 I agree. I'm honestly kinda worried about him. If he keeps this up he very well might not be directing Smash soon. And I wonder who could possibly fill his shoes? I don't know of a single dev who has such a huge need for perfection in his games, and the nearly perfect balance of characters, game mechanics, trophies, etc. is what makes Smash so marvelous.
@Artwark He's not just overworking himself for the heck of it. He's said multiple times that because the team he works with on each game is, for the most part, completely different people from the previous games, he can't trust them to get the work that he does done. He's tried it before and it has failed him many times.
Ever since I moved to a new time zone almost 4 months ago I haven't been able to sleep as well or as much. So I'm actually interested. And if it integrates with my Nintendo systems then that's even better.
I think it's unfair that both Melee and Brawl used a real orchestra for the opening cutscene but this one doesn't. This amazing theme deserves an orchestra
So can any techy people tell me what the difference is between native 1080p and native 720p upscaled to 1080p? Because I honestly can't tell the difference. When looking at MK8, it looks just as crisp and clear as any native 1080p game I've ever seen.
I really hope they have admins to keep the stages clean. I don't want this to be another Swapnote. Also I think the Miiverse stage will be fine cuz the Miiverse admins are usually on top of it.
Well when they announced the new 3DS I hated it and said(I believe on this site) that I wouldn't be picking it up. But hearing more and more about it and reading the reviews on it, I think I've changed my mind on it.
Also time is money, so maybe with all the time that this will save during loading, it'll be a worthwhile investment.
@KHaceattorney But that's exactly my point. They've already made everything so much better in this than Brawl that if they include the stage builder again, it'll most certainly be much improved. And the clumsiness of Brawl's stage builder could be overcome by using the gamepad to just tap and place blocks and stuff. There are a lot of possibilities. I was honestly baffled the first time I used stage builder that they didn't take advantage of the pointer controls to just point and click where you want to place things, so hopefully they don't not take advantage of what the console offers again.

Good job, Best Buy! Make them pay. Although, it is unfortunate for families who bought multiple ones.

If it for some reason doesn't have a stage builder, that would just be crazy. A HUGE step back from brawl.
