Re: Iwata Looking To Emulate iOS And Android With A Common Platform For Future Nintendo Hardware

triforcepower73

My question is will there be any reason for people to own both home and handheld consoles now? The reason I own a 3DS and a Wii U is because the 3DS has more "portable-type" games on it and the Wii U has long "sit down and play for hours" games. If both consoles have the same operating system, does that mean they'll have similar hardware as well? I hope this doesn't end up like the Vita.

Re: Satoru Iwata Outlines Belief that Continuing with Hardware and Software Will "Amplify" Nintendo's Strengths

Hahah! "Entertainment flourishes when consumers are faced with something that they did not know that they wanted." This made me laugh. Sounds a little bit like American consumerism. "Hey buy our product cause even though you don't actually need it, you should need it!" I know what Iwata means, that's just what immediately popped to mind when I read that statement.

Re: Review: Disney Frozen: Olaf's Quest (3DS)

triforcepower73

@9th_Sage Yeah when I saw the trailers, I initially thought I was going to hate Olaf. But in the movie he's actually pretty hilarious. Anybody who hasn't seen the movie really should. It's my favorite Disney movie of all time by far, and my 3rd favorite movie ever! And just so you know, the trailers are AWFUL when compared to the movie.

Re: Eurogamer's Game of the Year is a Nintendo Winner

triforcepower73

@PrincessEevee9 Yeah I come from a family that only knows about gaming through the original Xbox cause that's the first game console we got. And I'm the only one in my family that truly likes Nintendo. My brothers still acknowledge that Nintendo games are good cause they look at the scores they get, but they still treat it like their games get good scores only because the reviewers are nostalgic towards them.

Re: Eurogamer's Game of the Year is a Nintendo Winner

Ugh I wish I could experience the awesome multiplayer everybody is talking about. Both of my brothers are just so "mature" for this game, unfortunately, that they only played 3 courses and then put it down and said "That's cool. Let's play Black Ops 2 now." My family's gaming situation sucks. My mom still thinks that every single home console that is in our house is an Xbox, whether it be a Wii, Wii U, Xbox or Xbox 360.

Re: Feature: 12 Days of Christmas - Super Mario 3D World Captures Hearts

triforcepower73

I asked for it for Christmas and as soon as my parents were out of view, I measured the box up against my copy of WWHD and it matched perfectly, although it was in a box that was a few inches taller. I rattled it around and I could tell they put some rocks in the box. I'm pretty sure it's Super Mario 3D World! Hopefully this game's multiplayer will change my brother's opinion that Mario is overrated and generic!

Re: Nintendo Direct Focusing On Wii U And 3DS Games Coming Spring 2014 To Air Tomorrow

triforcepower73

@Blastoise-san I think I remember you saying that you would never, ever get hyped for an announcement from Nintendo. Make sure you stay true to your word, otherwise you'll end up in a rage like after VGX. And anyway, all of those games you want to be shown most likely won't. X is going to be released late 2014 or early 2015. As for Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem, we haven't even seen any gameplay footage. Do you really think they'd show it in a Direct featuring Spring 2014 games?

Re: Reggie Fils-Aime Confirms Playable Cranky Kong and Release Date for Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze

triforcepower73

@MK_II Work on Zelda U was started about 2 yrs ago. Eiji Aonuma said he was about to show it on two different occasions and that right after Comic Con he would begin work on a reveal for the game. Also he stated a long time ago that he wants to shorten the development time for Zelda games to around 3 yrs. They've been developing Zelda U for 2 yrs, so that just leaves 1 more, if their goal is to be met. I honestly don't expect that to happen but they have a reveal ready. I'm certain of that.

Re: Reggie Fils-Aime Confirms Playable Cranky Kong and Release Date for Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze

triforcepower73

@minotaurgamer Ummm.... Zelda U was previously announced. X was previously announced. SSB was previously announced. Bayonetta 2 was previously announced. Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem was previously announced. ANY of those would've been 5 times the "announcement" that Cranky Kong was. And as @2Sang said, it wasn't even really an announcement, just a confirmation of something we knew days ago was 90% probable.

Re: Soapbox: Even With The Arrival Of PS4 And Xbox One, I'd Still Pick The Wii U

triforcepower73

This doesn't have to do with the article but I was just watching The Sound of Music Live on NBC in America and I was surprised to see the only commercial for Wii U I've seen in 7 months. And it's pretty awesome that it was shown during the play version of "the most beloved family film of all time!" With a lot of families watching it across America, that's very good exposure for the console! Also I saw a Walmart ad with Disney Infinity for Wii U advertised at the end.

Re: Super Mario 3D World Struggles Against PS4 Titles in UK Charts

triforcepower73

What a sad state of gaming today, where a universally acclaimed game, that has gotten tons of perfect scores and holds an average score of 94 out of 100, sells less than a mediocre one. All due to loyalists who are so attached to their brand that they would choose a more expensive console with average software over a cheaper console with multiple games scoring in the 80s and 90s. Like I've said in a previous article, people don't care about Nintendo anymore, no matter how good the game is. Oh well. In the past, in every form of entertainment, what's popular has rarely been what's best.

Re: Reggie Fils-Aime Emphasizes the Wii U's Unique Content in Sales Pitch

triforcepower73

@Emblem Yeah it really sucks being a teenager in America. :I It's hard to find anyone who likes Nintendo and won't laugh at you when you talk about Mario or Zelda. Interestingly, though, my whole age group at my church is having a lock-in in a couple of weeks where we're going to bring all our old gaming systems. Our teachers are going to be taking everyone's phones and we'll be going into a time machine back to the 90s with N64, SNES, Sega Genesis, and such. Last year we did a similar event, but all we had was an Xbox 360 and a SNES. Naturally, everybody except me and this kid I had just met, played COD and L4D. Oh how I hate L4D! And all the while, me and my new friend sat there by ourselves playing Super Mario World, Mario Kart, Aladdin, and Donkey Kong Country. The whole point of all this was that America hates Nintendo and loves Xbox.
