Already had mine preordered for 4 weeks. Never played the original so this is going to be amazing!!! And a Friday! I don't have anything on Fridays so since I'm homeschooled I can pick this up early in the morning!! Win win win!!!
For those who have looked in-depth at ALL the screenshots: doesn't the Skyloft stage look really unfinished? Like there isn't much color to it and the statue of the goddess is really jagged all over. Sure, in Skyward Sword the statue was a little bit jagged but no where near that of the SSB4 version. Probably because they're still refining things but how come all the other stages looked absolutely fine?
Pikmin 3 and Assassin's Creed 3 mostly. Also hopefully get past where I'm stuck in Earthbound. I'll maybe build up enough (triforce of) courage to face Zangurak in epic battle in The Last Story. I threw my remote down 4 days ago after failing miserably, twice.....
If this is true, that they printed a few thousand copies then sold them as used for $90, that is SOOO incredibly selfish of Gamestop! I made the huge mistake of not buying it for 50 bucks when I could have, and now I have to look for someone who actually owns it (haven't found one yet) or just blow $90 on it.
Seems like because the first few comments were just people bashing this and saying that it's going to be bad, everybody else is afraid of getting ridiculed by saying something nice about it. So I'm just going to say this. I think this could be really good and show Hollywood that a lot of games have very good story material and they're not just there to cash in off all the fans.
My main point is don't hate until you've seen it. This project seems different than all the other crap video game movie adaptions. They actually seem to want to make something good.
Atlus isn't exactly well-known. Their more of a niche company and Nintendo would be the perfect one to get them more out there in the public while not ruining their franchises. And at the same time, Wii U would be getting more exclusives, which can only help.
@KAHN Well as my 8th grade science teacher once said, "Opinions are like armpits. Everyone has them and sometimes they stink!" Yours happens to be one that stinks, imo. But who knows, maybe I'm the one with an opinion that stinks.
@FineLerv THIS! Seriously, games connect with me so much deeper than any other form of art(besides music). Movies, books, etc. Everybody has a different experience, for the most part with a great game. In movies everybody just sits on their butts watching the same thing. When you come back to watch it in a few years again you see the same thing. Yes, you notice things that you didn't notice the first time you watched it but there's a limit. The great masterpieces of gaming such as Earthbound seem endless in their depth.
@Peach64 Well if you really don't think the Wii U is doomed then stop posting these types of comments. It just makes Nintendo fanboys more riled up, microsoft and sony fanboys more "See told ya so!"-ish, and people that are on the fence lean further from the Wii U. I mean yeah, people do need to get their facts straight, but going with the "Wii U really is selling terribly" crowd just makes more and more people join that group, which, in turn actually does make Wii U sales worse.
@Yrreiht Dude, if you're still pissed about that you need to grow up. You've had 6 months to get over that! Compared to other 3rd parties, Ubi has more than made up for that stupid mistake.
@DefHalan It does have a "U" in the logo. When I saw the "preorder now!" advertisements and saw that logo I immediately thought, "Destiny U!? Is that the Wii U version of the game!!???!"
@Ren The Ouya is kind of irrelevant when talking about game consoles, anyway. I think it's more likely to be the xbox one that will fall off judging from all the people who aren't getting it. But then again, what people say before a console releases is almost never a good indicator of how a console will do in the long run.
At this point it's really hard, almost pointless to predict how the console war will go. After all, in the past consoles that were supposed to beat the living daylights out of the competition bombed and the console that was supposed to bomb beat the living daylights out of the competition.
Remember how much hype was behind the vita and everybody thought the 3DS was dead before it launched. Look how that turned out. The setup between the Wii U and PS4 is almost identical to the setup between the 3DS and Vita. 3DS released about a year before Vita(so did Wii U). 3DS "had no games"(so does Wii u). Everybody thought that 3DS would bomb and Vita would win(same scenario with the Wii U and PS4). The only difference is that it seems like Sony actually cares about releasing games for it, unlike Vita.
@Samurai_Goroh The wii u has sold more than the ps3 and 360 in the same timespan. And don't forget the market back in 2005/2006 when those consoles released was much different. The world economy was much better; more people had money that they could actually spend on things like game consoles. Also the iPhone crowd of "casuals" didn't even exist yet. But now the wii u is actually doing quite well for a new system in a worse economy with really no blockbuster first party titles out yet. And also it's competing against the giant iPhone crowd, the ps3, and the 360. I'd say it's doing very well for the current situation.
If they did do voice acting and they brought back the happy mask salesman in some form or another, they would be obligated to hire Johnny Depp for the job. Imagine "You've met with a terrible fate haven't you?" in his voice!
I'm old school. I also like physical books much more than ebooks. There's something about actually turning pages. And driving home from the game store with a game and then opening it up and popping that disk into the system.... I do like smelling games, too.
@gameboy1975 @GiftedGimp I agree. And if you remember back when nintendo life posted the news article about rayman legends going multiplatform, they had a poll asking what you would do about the game and one of the choices was boycotting it. I believe that had a big portion of the vote. Honestly that is a veryvery stupid decision!
Since nintendo is more family-friendly than the other two they'll probably take over the market there because most of their stuff won't need censorship.
@Dr_42o The fact that they're used to cheap smartphone games means that they'll probably try a modern game and be like, "Whoa! I didn't know games had gotten this advanced since 2000! Never going back to smartphone games again!" If you've never had fresh strawberries and only store-bought ones, when you try a fresh one you'll be more impressed with it than if you had had fresh strawberries all your life. Same with games.
@Yorumi It would've been nice if it had been $40 but like I said I have no problem with the full price. In fact I just preordered it yesterday. The people that are complaining about the price are the ones that have already played it and are complaining about no new features as well and should therefore be uninterested in it. Y'all are bashing it enough to where someone looking at this comments section, wondering if he should get it or not would probably think it's not worth getting and opt not to get it.
The only points I agree with you on are the changing the wind issue and the midi soundtrack. I absolutely love the wind waker's soundtrack but(this goes for all zelda games' soundtracks) the midi really hides how good the music is. For example, until the symphony of the goddesses performance I didn't realize how awesome the ballad of the windfish is. Real musicians in a real orchestra put a soundtrack on a completely different level than midi.
And in response to all the people that are complaining about no new features and charging full retail price for the remakes, these(remakes) are for people that haven't experienced the original game yet. To us it's like buying a brand new game. So I'm absolutely fine with paying full price for a remake if I haven't played it before. Oot was old enough to do a remake of because it was made before I and much of nintendo's fanbase was born. Same with starfox 64 3D. Wind waker on the other hand didn't sell very well so nintendo wanted to let as many people experience the masterpiece as they could. That's the reason for a remake. To let more people experience a game.
Do you have a problem with nintendo wanting to let me play their game in the most convenient way possible for myself, Rory? I don't have a gamecube and have never played the wind waker, but I do have a wii u so why would I spend extra money on an old system that would take up extra space just to play one game?
The only problem with this theory is that Nintendo has soooo much money. And they're doing better than microsoft and sony did so these guys have no reason to say Nintendo is doomed or anything. Not talking about this guy specifically I just mean all the haters.
Do I even have to say it? New Leaf duh! I named my town Ordon and my town tune is the very first phrase of the ordon theme! For wii u I'll try to finish Last Story if I can pull myself away from the addiction that is animal crossing!
Even though he hasn't done a whole lot I still really like Hajime Wakai. Yoko Shimomura is also really great! And obviously Koji Kondo deserves to be mentioned in any discussion involving video game music. In fact I'm listening to the ocarina songs arrangements from the symphony of the goddesses right now!
