Re: Soapbox: There's No Shame In Playing On Easy, Even If You're A Pro

I agree wholeheartedly with this take. For my part, it depends on the game! I do sometimes try harder difficulties if it's a game I'm familiar with, or it's something older. When it comes to 2D games, platformers, Zelda...

I like to try the hard difficulty because I'm better at those types of games. If I were to play easy mode or an otherwise very easy platformer, it sometimes just doesn't feel as satisfying because I have been playing 2D platformers since the 90s.

But if I'm not familiar with the game style, I'll crank it down! And if it gets too boring, I crank it back up! Or, if I'm looking just to chill, I'll keep it on easy and enjoy the ride. You can do whatever you want because games are a HOBBY! If you're an obsessive achievement hunter, more power to you! If you just like to have a bit of fun and take it easy, you do you.

Re: VR Developer Defends Labo VR, Predicts This Might Only Be The Start For Nintendo

VR just feels like a gimmick to me. None of the games I've played feel like full experiences and it cheapens the whole view I have of the tech.

Labo VR feels like Nintendo is dipping their toes in, and honestly feels about as big as they could go with the current tech on the Switch. The Switch literally cannot compete on a hardware level with other VR platforms, so why even try? Better to make something for kids to test the waters, with future hardware revisions perhaps making VR on Switch a more full reality.

Re: Talking Point: How Do You Feel About The Metroid Prime 4 Delay?

It'd be very smart to have Panic Button or someone similar port the original trilogy to Switch to hold over fans in the next few years.

I echo the sentiments of everyone else here. I'm disappointed that new Metroid won't be on the console this year, but it's great that they're keeping us updated and that Retro has it.

Re: People Are Review-Bombing Pokémon: Let's Go Across Major Sites, Amazon Japan Blocks User Scores

Look all I'm saying is, making a bunch of dummy accounts and reviews to hurt sales of a game you don't think should exist because it doesn't appeal to you personally, especially when you haven't played the freaking game, is BS. If you played the game and didn't like it, cool. Post that review. Same with positive review bombing, which to be fair, is usually corporate, or in response to negative review bombing, both of which are also BS.

The whole point of a review is to let people know your experience with a game to help them make a purchasing decision. If the game doesn't appeal to you, just don't play it. Complain about it online. But don't try to artificially lower (or raise!) the score because you saw the features of the game, thought they were dumb and bad for the franchise, and decided not to play it at all because "that's not pokemon." You may not think it's worth your time, you may be wildly unhappy that the game exists, but nobody cares. Artificially changing the scores of a game you HAVEN'T PLAYED by using dummy accounts is immature and stupid, and anybody in here trying to justify it is either trolling or doesn't understand what a game review is.

@Yorumi can you give an example of people review bombing something positively? I don't know if I've ever seen that happen.

As a general comment, I'm very excited for this game and fake review scores aren't going to influence me. People are clearly just being childish because the game wasn't made for them, and for some reason, they can't handle that. Not to say that there aren't people who posted legit reviews about hating the game, but hundreds of reviews on day one of the release? That's definitely a review bomb and I wouldn't take it seriously for a second.

Re: Try Not To Get Too Angry At The First 'Hero' Shot From The Upcoming Monster Hunter Movie

It's really incredible how Hollywood just continually misunderstands gaming. It's so bizarre and disheartening, but also cartoonish at this point. A lot of games have great worlds and aesthetics to explore, but they seem to think those things won't work and instead of focusing on writing a good story in an established world, they change things for so-called "mass appeal." Because making yet another stubbly, brown haired white guy with a gun the hero is really the only way audiences will accept this, APPARENTLY
