@Damo Yes it does have similar form factors to the Switch and play games, so I can see what you mean about the comparison.
The definition of what lines to use to define Switch competitors depends somewhat on which end users you are thinking about.
For PC gamers, yes the Aya Neo Air can be competition if they had a choice between that and a Switch.
For families with younger kids, people who have limited budgets, or gamers who want an easy user experience, then it still seems the Switch has carved out a niche for itself.
I'm with you in that Nintendo would benefit from more competition, after we have the Switch in part because of the Wii U's failure meant Nintendo had to innovate and take risks.
Overall, I really like Nlife's coverage of new gaming hardware and would like to encourage the teams to keep doing that. So I can appreciate this article in that sense too.
It's not a switch alternative, that's just a clickbait headline. It's one of of many portable gaming devices that have a similar form factor to the switch.
Bayonetta 3 - it has been a lot more fun than I anticipated. There's so much variety in gameplay and characters in this entry, Platinum did a great job.
Replayability of Platinum games has been an issue, I have no desire to replay the other Bayonetta games or Nier Automata, and I'm a bit concerned Bayo 3 will be the same.
Monkey Island lived up to my personal hopes as a long time fan of the series - for me 9/10. Tunic had great level design but meh story and characters - agree with 8/10 from NL. Two great indie games in one month means it was one of the best months for the Switch this year imo.
This is amazing, I offered to get a friend a life sized Pokémon for a present knowing they were just available in Japan as a joke but now I may have to actually buy one!
Nintendo would do well to create faithful reimaginings of its classic games but it seems it's general approach is to focus on new games even if they aren't as good as classic games
Doubt it's a new model - Nintendo may have production difficulties due to some components not being as available as others so may have a backlog of planned production units it hasn't been able to complete.
Seriously though, this is incredibly exciting as I'm a huge fan of Okami, Metroid and Hollow Knight. Great the talented AM2R folks are using their talents in a new IP
I bought the Prism HDMI adapter and extremely happy with the video and audio quality from my PAL GameCube to my 4K TV. Metroid Prime especially looks fantastic!
I would think Nintendo is reviewing many of its digital services at the moment and may have plans to partner with another company. I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo plans to have more online multiplayer events across more if its titles and is looking at the best way to achieve that.
I remember Zelda being delayed by a year or more with each major console from the N64 and Ocarina of Time, so won't be surprised if this one is delayed too.
Was looking forward to this but with the price increase plus the cost of the dock, shipping, export taxes, and potential wait times I'm not so sure if it's worth it any more.

Re: Feature: Nintendo Life's Alternative Game Awards 2022
Inscryption along with Return to Monkey Island were my personal favourites because of the quality of the narrative, puzzles, and characters.
Really enjoyed Kirby and the Forgotten Land and Bayonetta 3, and already looking forward to the Bayonetta spin off Ceriza and the Stray Demon.
